SFC (R) David L Parker ArmyThe host of Veterans Rant Rattle and Roll, going into why the show. Working to build a community where Veterans can share their stories to make connections in order to STOP 22! He shares some insight into his 22-year career and stories. Always looking to interview Veterans! Served 61 months overseas, inside a career that coves 32 years from 1984-2016, with a 9-year break in the middle. Time to stop playing lip service and STOP 22!
LTC (R) Tara SmithTara served 20 years as a logistics officer as is the first officer to be interviewed on the show. She comes from a USMC family, they told her to go in the Army, so she went to the U of U and was commissioned. Was a company commander as a 1LT then again as a CPT. Her NCO’s talk crap about her as the new commander being a woman and she smoked them with ease! Her career included raising as a single mother to children and smashing the stereotypes of gender bases rules.
SGT Brian KremEntered Delayed entry program in 2006 then broke his ankle slowing his entry into the Marines by one year. Found entering the Marine Corp to be a huge culture shock! Spent his career as a UAV Operator. He was part of the last BMUs in Iraq, then Deployed to Afghanistan. Asks those who are in a dark place to “Swallow that pride” and seek help, don’t be part of the 22!
SSG (R) Dylan GrayCoast Guard Military Brat, who joined at 24 with a twenty-year career. Served as a 92A aka logistical supply. Deployed to four combat tours, starting with Kosovo in 1999 as a PFC. The biggest challenge was learning how to adapt leadership style to the Soldiers you have. Should have been called Lefty.
SFC (R) Gary JacksonAfter a 20-years and 9-day career, Gary now lives on the edge of The Lake of the Ozarks. The view from his deck is amazing, listening to the boat roaring across the lake makes him smile. After the first 5 years of service, he becomes a Fister (Forward Observer). After a great piece of advice from a mentor “never base your Army career off the first duty station” he continued to pass that advice on across four deployments to other Soldiers.
