Was passiert da im Nervensystem? Was hilft dir trotzdem Nein zu sagen?

If you ever find yourself face-to-face with an alligator, there's a surprising two-finger trick that could save your life. Alligators have super strong jaws for biting down, but the muscles to open their mouths are much weaker. If an alligator grabs you, try to stay calm (as hard as that sounds!) and aim for their eyes or the sensitive tip of their snout. Using two fingers, poke their eyes as hard as you can—this often makes them let go and retreat. Another option is to jab your fingers into their nostrils or ears; these spots are super sensitive and can make them release you. Remember, though, the best strategy is to avoid alligators in the first place by staying far from their habitats! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

On this episode of The To The Outer Limits, we review “The Sixth Finger.”Joining me are storytellers Gabriel Hardman, Jeff Parker, and Ande Parks.t's the story that dared to ask what happens when humanity fast-forwards its own evolution—and the answer, as usual, isn't pretty. Starring a young David McCallum years before The Man from U.N.C.L.E., this 1963 classic turns the lab experiment trope into a gothic tragedy, complete with telepathy, hubris, and a proto–Professor X look that must have haunted comic readers who saw it first-run. Joining me for the discussion are three of my favorite storytellers who know a thing or two about pushing human potential to the breaking poin Together we'll talk about the episode's influence on pop culture and comics—from McCallum's transformation makeup to its echoes in The X-Men, Planet of the Apes, and every “science-goes-too-far” story that followed.
Kaleidoscope Visions panel presents this month's “MOON PHASES-Fingers of Fate”. This pattern coordinates continual adjustments as a cardinal new moon moves into fixed archetypal moon phases. The Finger of Fate pattern (YOD) requires adjusting between its energetic dynamics without any easy resolution. The quincunx of 150° aspect requires recalibration causing a constant, dynamic tension. Essentially, an internal ‘push-pull' as we ‘lean into' experiencing one energy to the other. Seeking to coordinate their cosmic reflection into our life. Potentially this month involves a process of adjusting to create a new path of perspectives with our ego, our emotions, our values, and thinking.Opening the four moon phases begins with the New Moon at 28 degrees Libra. It heralds the start of a six-month pattern of new moons at 28 degrees of archetypal fulfilment. Libra involves a desire to balance between extremes presented by any polarity. Here, looking at the values to heal from toxicity. Following phases all in fixed signs will be the first quarter moon on Oct 29 at 6°30 Aquarius, the Full Moon on Nov 5 at 13°22' Taurus, and third quarter moon on Nov 12 at 20°04' Leo.The moon's our personal planet regulating the past coming into the present. Weekly the moon systematic monthly cycle transitions from the New Moon to first quarter, Full Moon, and third quarter moon phases. Daily moving 12-13 degrees, the moon moves through a Zodiac sign in two & a half days.Joining Sue Rose Minahan from Kailua-Kona, Big Island, Hawai'i are Kaleidoscope Visions panel members, Amanda Pierce, and John Chinworth of Seattle. In this episode, we sit down with Wisconsin DNR Game Bird Ecologist Taylor Finger for a deep dive into the science, data, and decision-making behind our state's waterfowl seasons. From how duck season dates are set to the math behind bag limits and banding 10,000 birds a year, Taylor breaks down what really drives season structure — and how public input plays a key role. We also explore the challenges of balancing hunter opportunity with conservation, why teal and wood duck limits are what they are, how weather and migration trends impact bird movement, and what the future may hold for Wisconsin hunters. Whether you're a weekend duck hunter or a lifelong waterfowler, this conversation pulls back the curtain on the biology, policy, and passion shaping the sport of duck hunting. Participants who were not already exercising or eating a Mediterranean-style diet engaged in lifestyle changes across four pillars: physical activity, nutrition, cognitive and social engagement, and tracking health numbers like blood pressure and blood sugar. In this interview with Being Patient's Mark Niu, Baker traces how POINTER was designed, what a coach-supported lifestyle program looks like in practice, and why community partners matter. She also previews what's ahead — from brain imaging to sleep and vascular findings — and offers practical guidance for caregivers and older adults.—-If you loved listening this Live Talk, visit our website to find more of our Alzheimer's coverage and subscribe to our newsletter: https://www.beingpatient.com/Follow Being Patient: Twitter: https://twitter.com/Being_Patient_Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beingpatientvoices/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/beingpatientalzheimersLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/company/being-patientBeing Patient is an editorially independent journalism outlet for news and reporting about brain health, cognitive science, and neurodegenerative diseases.
