Als Grenzgänger zwischen Technik und Design kennt er allerdings den Wert des Analogen und hält diesen hoch. In dieser Folge des F.A.Z.-Podcast Digitalwirtschaft erläutert Auerbach, woran man seit jeher erkennt, dass man in einem Porsche sitzt, warum es nicht sinnvoll ist, auf Trends zu reagieren und wieso unsere Finger nicht dafür gemacht sind, über Glasoberflächen zu wischen. Seiner Meinung nach werden sich Autos in Zukunft spezialisieren, sie sind entweder Alltagsfahrzeuge oder Spielzeuge. In letzteren kommt der haptischen Qualität von Bedienelementen besondere Bedeutung zu – und damit auch der guten alten Taste mit fester Belegung. Auch in der digitalen Welt muss sich die Industrie, so Auerbach, die Frage stellen, wie ihre Produkte gut altern. Software-Updates allein lösten das Problem nur technisch, es müssten neue Ideen her. Für Materialien im Innenraum stelle sich die gleiche Frage. Leder kann unter diesem Aspekt eine sehr nachhaltige Lösung sein, sagt Auerbach. Das autonome Fahren ist auch für Porsche ein Thema. Doch so wie Menschen noch immer aufs Pferd oder ins Segelboot steigen, habe auch das Selberfahren eine Zukunft. Sportwagen würden künftig vielleicht sogar noch „ein Stück extremer“, so der Designer.

Ja, das klingt bescheuert, und ist es auch. Außerdem hat Diana zu kämpfen gegen den an Donald Trump angelehnten Öl-Magnaten Maxwell Lord (Pedro Pascal), der unbedingt den magischen Stein in die Finger kriegen will, damit all seine Wünsche wahr werden. Dianas Kollegin Barbara Ann Minerva (Kristen Wiig) fällt derweil auf Maxwells Verführungskünste herein und strebt auch schon bald nach mehr Macht und verwandelt sich in die Superschurkin Cheetah. Das alles soll woke, feministisch und anti-trumpesk sein, doch diese Schüsse gehen allesamt nach hinten los: Selten sah man derart simpel gestrickte Männer- und Frauenfiguren, selten mussten Frauen so sehr Hollywood-Klischees gehorchen, und bereits in den 50er-Jahren hatte man einen differenzierteren Blick auf das Verhältnis zwischen Demokratie und Wahrheit. Jay Cresswell & Joe Finger join me to put a wrap on the 2025 baseball season

Die Brooklyn Bridge ist eine der bekanntesten Brücken der Welt. Als sie im Jahr 1867 geplant wurde, sagten Experten dem Designer, einem Ingenieur namens John Roebling, voraus, dass die Idee nicht funktionieren würde. Roebling überzeugte seinen Sohn Washington, ebenfalls Ingenieur, davon, dass die Idee durchaus erfolgreich sein könne. Beide entwickelten ein Konzept, lösten die vorhergesagten Probleme und engagierten begeistert eine Mannschaft, um die Brücke zu bauen. Nach nur wenigen Monaten kam es zu einem tragischen Unfall, bei dem John sein Leben verlor. Einige Monate später wurde der Sohn so schwer verletzt, dass er von da an weder sprechen noch gehen konnte. Man vermutete, das Projekt würde nun aufgegeben werden. Washington jedoch konnte noch denken, und er hatte den brennenden Wunsch, die Brücke fertigzustellen. Auf seinem Krankenlager kam ihm eine Idee: Er kommunizierte mit den Ingenieuren, indem er mit einem Finger auf den Arm seiner Frau tippte, was er ihnen sagen wollte. 13 Jahre lang tippte er seine Anweisungen, bis die Brücke fertiggestellt war! Sein Geist siegte. Paulus schreibt: „Wir haben Schwierigkeiten überall um uns herum, aber wir sind nicht besiegt. Wir wissen nicht, was wir tun sollen, aber wir geben die Hoffnung auf das Leben nicht auf. Wir werden verfolgt, aber Gott verlässt uns nicht. Wir werden manchmal verletzt, aber wir werden nicht zerstört“ (s.2.Kor 4, 8-9). Diese Worte verkörpern den siegreichen Geist – den Geist, den Gott dir geben kann.

„Man muss in den Konflikt gehen und die Mehrheit hinter sich bringen. Nur so werden Veränderungen erreicht,“ sagt Thilo Bode. Der Gründer der Verbraucherschutzorganisation Foodwatch blickt in seinem neuen Buch „Resist“ auf Jahrzehnte des Widerstands gegen Konzerne und politische Lobbys zurück. Bodes Karriere begann in der Entwicklungshilfe, später leitete er Greenpeace. Dort ging er den Schritt vom Manager zum Aktivisten. Im Gespräch mit Kristina erzählt er, wie er wegen einer Protestaktion für den Schutz der Regenwälder sogar im Hochsicherheitstrakt eines Gefängnisses in Kanada landete. Seiner Überzeugung nach verändern höfliche Argumente nichts – nur der Konflikt. Nach der BSE-Krise gründete er Foodwatch, um den Lebensmittelkonzernen und ihrer Lobby auf die Finger zu schauen. Verbraucher wissen oft nicht, welche Zusatzstoffe sie konsumieren oder welche ökologische Bilanz ihre Lebensmittel haben. Qualität lässt sich kaum erkennen – der Preis ist jedenfalls kein verlässliches Kriterium. Und der Staat? Schaut nur zu, anstatt die Bürger und ihre Gesundheit zu schützen. If you ever find yourself face-to-face with an alligator, there's a surprising two-finger trick that could save your life. Alligators have super strong jaws for biting down, but the muscles to open their mouths are much weaker. If an alligator grabs you, try to stay calm (as hard as that sounds!) and aim for their eyes or the sensitive tip of their snout. Using two fingers, poke their eyes as hard as you can—this often makes them let go and retreat. Another option is to jab your fingers into their nostrils or ears; these spots are super sensitive and can make them release you.
