Shain & Fanuel are joined by VFTS regular Perry who has joined the team. The new 2021/22 season began 2 weeks ago however, we decided to wait until we saw a bit of the teams to do our predictions for the season. Our predictions ranged from Premier League Champions to biggest flops of the season etc.. We also reviewed each of our clubs and rated their transfer windows out of 10. Lastly, we rounded up with Gameweek 3 predictions. On our 20th Episode, we had 3 guests helping us out. Liverpool fan and regular Dylan, Man Utd fan Darnel & Arsenal fan JJ. Enjoy your weekly football fix!
This week saw two of the biggest games of the football calendar year, the Champions League final and the Europa League final. Manchester United vs Villareal and Chelsea vs Manchester City. This week the host Shain and co-host Fanuel were joined by 3 guests, Favour (United fan), Keanu (Liverpool fan) and Charlie (Spurs fan). This episode saw us go into the two finals and share our opinions on what happened in both games and how we felt this affected the English teams involved. Our conversation naturally went into the other big footballing event that occurred in the week, Southgate's 26 man England squad and we all gave our opinions on those that had been given the call up and those that had been missed out. On this weeks episode of VFTS, host (Shain) and co-host (Fanuel) were alone as there were no guests. The FA Cup Final was the main topic of discussion as Leicester City were triumphant against Chelsea. That led into a discussion about Tuchel/Chelsea and what would be a success this season. Also, there have been 2 Arsenal players who have improved their performances of late so we went on to talk about their seasons. They were Nicolas Pepe & Joe Willock (on loan to Newcastle). As the season is drawing to a close, it was only right for Shain & Fanuel to give their Premier League team of the seasons to round up this weeks episode.
This week saw fans treated to a London derby in the form of Chelsea and Arsenal meeting in the midweek followed by the current league champions heading over to Old Trafford for an English Classic, United vs Liverpool. It was only right we were joined by a United fan in the form of Favour and a Liverpool fan in the form of Dylan, both previous guests and friends of the show. Shain was obviously in high spirits as Arsenal had triumphed over Chelsea with a 1-0 win at the Bridge which warranted discussion on the game from both sides including a brief conversation into the error in the game which caused the only goal and where the blame lied. Liverpool travelled down to rivals United and put 4 past them in a comfortable 4-2 win which sees their dream of Champions League football still a possibility. We discuss the games events and gain insight through Dylan and Favour on their opinions on the game and what they felt went right and wrong respectively. It came out in the week that David Luiz would be leaving Arsenal at the end of the season which prompted a conversation on how we felt David Luiz's time at Arsenal had been and his impact on the side. We rounded off the episode with a question "Which 3 players would you sign for next season?". This sparked a very funny final segment of the episode with someone being left feeling quite sour. Tune in for another episode to hear the views from the stands.
Episode 16 is Here! This episode sees Shain and Fanuel solo, This week there were no guests but this allowed us to get deeper on some topics. We spoke about the flurry of games in the last two weeks in both the Europa League and the Champions League. We spoke on our individual teams Arsenal and Chelsea and their progress in Europe. This led into a brief covering of the current Arsenal owner situation as Spotify's Daniel Ek launched a bid for Arsenal. The amount of world class talent on display over the two weeks prompted us to go into 2 players we felt were world class for their respective teams, Mahrez and Kante. Amongst these topics we dove into other smaller topics as this is what happens when it's just 2 people. Tune in for a more personal episode.
