I've known Alex Payne for well over a decade. We worked together covering rugby at Sky Sports and have both presented Sky Sports News. But this a man who wears many hats and seems to do very well whichever one he's sporting that moment. Alex still does ad hoc rugby presenting on TV - most recently The Lions tour of Australia for Sky - but is arguably better known for hosting the hugely successful podcast - The Good, The Bad and The Rugby: https://open.spotify.com/show/1LJJ9KUF4aAjcSPimyKfp3?si=29cc3e61ecff432dAlex and his pod buddies, England legends Mike Tindall and James Haskell, have created a gin - the proceeds of which help grassroots rugby and research into injury prevention and care: https://blackeyegin.co.ukEven that's not enough to sate his appetite for work though! Alex has also helped build a tech business that pairs social media influencers with brands: https://www.theinfluenceroom.com. But Alex in his very candid way admits he doesn't really use social media because it distracts him from his many jobs. He doesn't have the apps on his phone. I loved this conversation, in large part due to Alex's openness and willingness to chat about the complexities and contradictions of the world that's in front of us. I do find it very interesting that most of the successful people I know don't spend time scrolling on social media. I think kicking that vice will be big for me. How about you?One thing's for sure - as I too navigate the early steps of a similar path away from full-time broadcasting - Alex's example is an inspiring one. I'm just not sure how he keeps all the balls in the air. Let me know what you think of this conversation. Go well and keep moving, Teddy

Dharmesh Sheth is joined by Charlie Wyett, Dominic King and Carl Anka to reflect on the weekend's sporting action. We start with Liverpool's much needed victory against Aston Villa; the shocking run is over, but is this a real turning point for Liverpool? Attention then shifts to Arsenal's win at Burnley. Charlie praises Gyokeres' impressive first half, and after a ninth win and seventh consecutive clean sheet, Carl suggests stopping Arsenal is going to be very hard. Then we turn to an unhappy Sean Dyche, after a 2-2 draw against Man United.  Carl believes the ball hadn't crossed the line before Casemiro's controversially awarded opening goal.Next up, another defeat for Wolves at Craven Cottage leaves relegation to the Championship looking increasingly likely, and Charlie asks: who would want to take Vítor Pereira's job?We then look to Tottenham, who were booed off at home after a 1-0 defeat to Maresca's Chelsea. With images of Djed Spence and Micky van de Ven walking straight past Thomas Frank at full-time, is the Spurs boss losing the dressing room? And finally, we ask, who's to blame for the revival of long-ball football?*At the time of recording, Vítor Pereira had not yet been dismissed from his position at Wolves.Sunday Supplement is a Sky Sports podcast. Is this yet another false dawn, or does this one feel different? Riath remains unconvinced.Next up is West Ham United. After kicking off the weekend with a third straight league loss to Leeds, Jack doesn't hold back — calling Nuno's team “unbalanced, old, and slow.”We then move to league leaders Arsenal, flying high after six straight wins in all competitions and a dominant 4–0 midweek victory over Atlético Madrid. Cristiano Ronaldo BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Cristiano Ronaldo continues to rewrite football history as he netted his 950th career goal and delivered yet another match-winning performance for Al Nassr in their 2-0 victory over Al Hazem. At 40 years old but still as hungry as ever, Ronaldo celebrated the achievement on social media, telling his followers he is grateful to reach the milestone and, in his words, is always hungry for more. That post, instantly trending, made headlines worldwide—LatestLY and Sportskeeda both highlighted Ronaldo's exuberance as he shared, Happy to help the team win and to hit 950 goals, always hungry for more. With this strike, Ronaldo remains just 50 shy of an unprecedented 1,000 career goals—a target he has now publicly named as his next mountainous ambition, as reported by The Tribune and Free Press Journal.Al Nassr is sitting at the top of the Saudi Pro League after winning all six matches to kick off the new season, with Ronaldo scoring six times in as many games and notching 34 goals in all competitions for club and country in 2025 alone, according to MyJoyOnline. Sky Sports broadcast the clinical finish that marked the latest addition to his legendary tally, while social media is abuzz with highlight clips and his iconic celebration. On the business and commercial front, Ronaldo's fitness and longevity philosophy caught attention after he revealed to tech entrepreneur Will Ahmed that sleep is his most important performance tool, an admission widely shared across health and sports platforms.Ronaldo's biographical gravity only increases as he prepares to face off with Karim Benzema and Al-Ittihad in the King Cup of Champions coming up this week. Off the pitch, his acceptance of the inaugural Prestige Award at the Portugal Football Globe earlier this month, where he reflected on family urging him to retire and his own desire to play a few more years, reveals a star mindful of legacy yet intent on pushing physical boundaries. No major negative press or off-field controversies have emerged, and the surrounding conversation is largely dominated by awe and anticipation as the world watches to see if he can possibly score 1,000 goals before ending his career. The appetite for every new chapter of the Cristiano Ronaldo story, both on the field and online, remains insatiable.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI
