Rob Jones is joined by Jacqui Oatley, Martin Samuel and Julien Laurens to reflect on the weekend's sporting action. We begin by looking at England's unbeaten World Cup qualification. But is Jacqui right to think that, while praise is due, Tuchel's real test will be winning the tournament itself?Attention then turns to Scotland. After their 3–2 loss to Greece, everything now comes down to Tuesday night at Hampden, where they host Denmark and hope to top the group with a win.We move on to Wales, who beat Liechtenstein to draw level on points with second-placed North Macedonia and now look to reach the play-offs by beating them on Tuesday.Next, we turn to England's impressive win against the All Blacks. Martin highlights George Ford's two drop goals in a 33–19 performance that indicates Steve Borthwick's approach is bearing fruit. We're then joined by Adam Collins to preview the Ashes. With just five days to go, Australia are without both Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood, and Adam believes the key will be how quickly England hit the ground running. And finally, we're joined by Rob Dorsett, who discusses all things England with John Cross and Jason Burt in Tirana ahead of Albania v England.Sunday Supplement is a Sky Sports podcast. Dharmesh Sheth is joined by Jonathan Northcroft, Craig Hope and Jonathan Liew to reflect on the weekend's sporting action. We begin with league leaders Arsenal, who were held to an entertaining 2–2 draw at the Stadium of Light after a dramatic last-minute equaliser from Brian Brobbey. Was this a chink in the armour for Arteta's side? Jonathan believes Arsenal earned a valuable point given their injury problems in attack.Attention then turns to Chelsea's commanding win over Wolves at Stamford Bridge. Booed off at half-time but second in the table at full-time, Jonathan admits he's still not sure what to make of Chelsea this season — and with only two points this season, are Wolves already staring down the barrel of Championship football next year?We move on to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, where Manchester United salvaged a late equaliser in a frantic 2–2 draw. Is Craig harsh to suggest it felt like a game where both teams lost?Next up, with just twelve days until The Ashes, we're joined by cricket broadcaster Adam Collins to preview the series. While much of the focus is on the prolific form of Australia's Steve Smith, we ask whether England are well placed to take the first Test. And Jonathan Liew finds himself compared to a certain England cricketer…And finally, a huge Super Sunday fixture between Manchester City and Liverpool may be key to Premier League title hopes.Sunday Supplement is a Sky Sports podcast. I've known Alex Payne for well over a decade. We worked together covering rugby at Sky Sports and have both presented Sky Sports News. But this a man who wears many hats and seems to do very well whichever one he's sporting that moment. Alex still does ad hoc rugby presenting on TV - most recently The Lions tour of Australia for Sky - but is arguably better known for hosting the hugely successful podcast - The Good, The Bad and The Rugby: https://open.spotify.com/show/1LJJ9KUF4aAjcSPimyKfp3?si=29cc3e61ecff432dAlex and his pod buddies, England legends Mike Tindall and James Haskell, have created a gin - the proceeds of which help grassroots rugby and research into injury prevention and care: https://blackeyegin.co.ukEven that's not enough to sate his appetite for work though! Alex has also helped build a tech business that pairs social media influencers with brands: https://www.theinfluenceroom.com. But Alex in his very candid way admits he doesn't really use social media because it distracts him from his many jobs. He doesn't have the apps on his phone. I loved this conversation, in large part due to Alex's openness and willingness to chat about the complexities and contradictions of the world that's in front of us. I do find it very interesting that most of the successful people I know don't spend time scrolling on social media. I think kicking that vice will be big for me. How about you?One thing's for sure - as I too navigate the early steps of a similar path away from full-time broadcasting - Alex's example is an inspiring one. I'm just not sure how he keeps all the balls in the air. Let me know what you think of this conversation. Go well and keep moving, Teddy
Dharmesh Sheth is joined by Charlie Wyett, Dominic King and Carl Anka to reflect on the weekend's sporting action. We start with Liverpool's much needed victory against Aston Villa; the shocking run is over, but is this a real turning point for Liverpool? Attention then shifts to Arsenal's win at Burnley. Charlie praises Gyokeres' impressive first half, and after a ninth win and seventh consecutive clean sheet, Carl suggests stopping Arsenal is going to be very hard. Then we turn to an unhappy Sean Dyche, after a 2-2 draw against Man United. Carl believes the ball hadn't crossed the line before Casemiro's controversially awarded opening goal.Next up, another defeat for Wolves at Craven Cottage leaves relegation to the Championship looking increasingly likely, and Charlie asks: who would want to take Vítor Pereira's job?We then look to Tottenham, who were booed off at home after a 1-0 defeat to Maresca's Chelsea. With images of Djed Spence and Micky van de Ven walking straight past Thomas Frank at full-time, is the Spurs boss losing the dressing room? And finally, we ask, who's to blame for the revival of long-ball football?*At the time of recording, Vítor Pereira had not yet been dismissed from his position at Wolves.Sunday Supplement is a Sky Sports podcast. Dharmesh Sheth is joined by John Cross, Riath Al-Samarrai and Jack Rosser to reflect on the weekend's sporting action. We start with Liverpool's fourth consecutive Premier League defeat — a run that John describes as “mind-blowing.” So, what's gone wrong with their defence this season? Attention then shifts to Manchester United, who beat Brighton for a third consecutive win — the first under Ruben Amorim. Is this yet another false dawn, or does this one feel different? Riath remains unconvinced.Next up is West Ham United. After kicking off the weekend with a third straight league loss to Leeds, Jack doesn't hold back — calling Nuno's team “unbalanced, old, and slow.”We then move to league leaders Arsenal, flying high after six straight wins in all competitions and a dominant 4–0 midweek victory over Atlético Madrid. John says it's shaping up to be a “spectacular” season for Arteta. We're also joined by The Athletic's Dermot Corrigan to chat all things El Clásico. For the first time, there's major English involvement — Dermot highlights how Jude Bellingham has shone in previous clashes, and why Marcus Rashford could be crucial with Raphinha and Lewandowski out. Finally, a super start for newly promoted Sunderland, leaping to second in the Premier League after a dramatic win at Stamford Bridge, which had fans singing, “We're going to win the league.”Sunday Supplement is a Sky Sports podcast.
