In order to ensure our darling Producer Simon made it on his holiday, we recorded a number of episodes back to back, but we may have forgottten when they needed to be released…perhaps this is why we begin this week by celebrating co-host Simon's beloved Spurs winning the Europa League a month ago…how can we complain though, Simon is so bloody happy, and isn't that worth an opening segment?Moving on from football success and surprise German spurs fans, Nic and Simon tackle a listener question on the topic of the tricky German word “Mahlzeit!”, which is frequently uttered in the corridors of companies across the country as lunchtime approaches. We discuss the right way to celebrate mealtimes in Germany, as well as regional ways to say hello.Theme tune courtesy of Kloß mit Soß

Kyle Walker and Michael Brown are back with another deep dive into the world of football. The lads discuss Tottenham's Europa League win and why they're buzzing for Ange and Son – while remembering when Sonny looked like a rabbit in headlights on his first day at the club.Browny recalls how Kyle's 100 keepy-uppies caused him some family pain, while Kyle reveals which teammate literally lost control during a match. Oh, and have you heard the one about a player ending up in a straitjacket mid-flight to the Caribbean? Yeah, they go there too.Plus: the best cities to visit on tour, why a flight from London to Sunderland was frightening and that one team-mate who always knew exactly where to go.Check out Kyle and Browny's Q&A episodes, exclusively on BBC Sounds. Hello Rank Squad! The (first) Transfer Window has officially closed, but there's been plenty of activity on the managerial merry-go-round across Europe, with new faces taking over at new places - to the delight of some and the chagrin of others. On today's episode we're looking at a number of new bosses and analysing how we think they fit their new home. We start with the most recent appointment - Brentford's Thomas Frank is all set to take over at Tottenham Hotspur, who moved on from Ange Postecoglou at the end of last week, and try to build on that Europa League trophy that Ange won in what turned out to be his final game. We discuss the differing approaches and how this might all work out; before moving on to talk about Xabi Alonso's new era at Real Madrid, after he left Bayer Leverkusen to replace Carlo Ancelotti; and his replacement at Leverkusen - former Manchester United and Ajax gaffer Erik ten Hag. Then in Part Three, we get stuck into the Calcio Chaos - Christian Chivu replacing Simone Inzaghi at Inter; Max Allegri returning to AC Milan to take over from the sacked Sergio Conçeição; Gian Piero Gasperini leaving Atalanta to take over from Claudio Ranieri at Roma, with the Tinkerman turning down the Azzurri to stay upstairs in the Eternal City; and former Gasperini disciple Ivan Juric replacing the old chessmaster at Atalanta. There's some chat too about the Club World Cup and some of the transfers yet to happen this summer at the start of the show, and don't forget to take a look at our Patreon, where there's loads more transfer podcasts and newsletters happening over the course of this summer. It's Ranks! And remember, if you'd like more from the Rank Squad, including extra podcasts every Monday and Friday (including our weekly Postbox taking a look at the whole weekend of football) and access to our brilliant Discord community, then why not join us here on Patreon?
Want Premium Wall Panels? Check out World Decor Supplies: https://worlddecorsupplies.co.uk/ Join Wolfie on Forest Fan TV for a gripping live show as we react to Ben Jacobs' latest tweet revealing that Crystal Palace are set to secure their Europa League place! After their historic FA Cup win, Palace's participation was at risk due to UEFA's multi-club ownership rules, with co-owner John Textor's 43% stake in Palace and majority ownership of Lyon raising red flags. However, Jacobs reports that UEFA are satisfied Textor lacks “decisive influence” over Palace, owning less than 30% of voting rights, clearing the way for the Eagles to compete. Wolfie dives into this breaking news, exploring what it means for Nottingham Forest's hopes of sneaking into the Europa League from their current Europa Conference League spot. Despite Forest's formal letter to UEFA seeking clarity on Palace's eligibility, the ruling suggests Palace and Lyon can both participate, potentially dashing Forest's chances of promotion to the Europa League. Wolfie breaks down the implications for Nuno Espírito Santo's squad, who finished seventh in the Premier League, and discusses whether Forest's European ambitions could still hinge on other factors, like Lyon's financial troubles with UEFA. Is Eze the key to elevating Nuno Espírito Santo's squad to the next level, or is this a step too far for the Reds? The transfer talk doesn't end there! Wolfie also delves into the swirling rumours around Chief Football Officer Ross Wilson potentially leaving Nottingham Forest. This week my football club Tottenham Hotspur fired Ange Postecoglou as manager after he led us to win the Europa League a few weeks ago. There are arguments for and against this decision from a footballing perspective, but ultimately it feels like a complete failure on behalf of the decision-makers at the club to grasp the entire point of following a football club, or of life in general. The reason I follow the club is because it's a big part of the friendship I have with one of my mates back in London, and the feeling I had when we won the trophy was shared with him. Everyone who follows the club and shares that with people in their life got to have that experience when we won, and if you believe what Ange was saying after we won, there's every chance that he could have led us to more of those moments. The people in charge took that opportunity away from him, from us, all because of some cold pragmatism, and finding out for certain that this is where their priorities lie has made me really sad.

Forest step into the Crystal Palace and UEFA feud as they contact them directly! For Exclusive Content Join FFTV Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/ForestFanTV Forest Fan TV dropped an electrifying update breaking down Nottingham Forest's potential path to the Europa League for the 2025-26 season, sparked by Crystal Palace's clash with UEFA over multi-club ownership rules. Reports indicate Palace, who earned a Europa League spot via their FA Cup win, face exclusion due to co-owner John Textor's 43% stake through Eagle Football, which also controls Lyon, another Europa League qualifier. UEFA's strict regulations bar clubs with shared ownership from competing in the same tournament, and with Lyon's higher Ligue 1 finish (6th) trumping Palace's 12th-place Premier League standing, Palace's spot is in jeopardy, potentially paving the way for Forest to step up. According to The Times, Nottingham Forest and their owner, Evangelos Marinakis, have seized the moment, directly engaging UEFA to highlight concerns over Palace's eligibility while advocating for Forest's promotion from the Europa Conference League to the Europa League. Marinakis, who also owns Olympiacos, sidestepped similar ownership issues by placing his Forest shares in a blind trust before UEFA's March 1 deadline, ensuring compliance when both clubs were in European contention. Palace's late attempt to mirror this move was rejected, leaving them vulnerable. If UEFA rules against Palace, Forest, who secured a Conference League spot with a 7th-place Premier League finish, stand ready to claim the Europa League berth, with Brighton likely filling Forest's Conference League slot. #nffc #crystalpalace #premierleague Learn more about your ad choices. Today we take a look back at the brilliant 2024-25 Europa League campaign in full, in which Tottenham Hotspur hoisted their third UEL/UEFA Cup trophy. We begin by addressing the elephant in the room – the sacking of now-Spurs-legend Ange Postecoglou despite leading his side to the title. Is it a fair decision from Daniel Levy? What are the supporters feeling? And how do they move forward now without him? Then we turn to the matter at hand: a recap of all the best and worst moments from the UEL season, including our favorite storylines, teams, games, and goals – as well as some things we might hope to forget. Newcastle are again looking to tempt Forest in selling £50m rated winger Elanga! To Buy Wolfie a Coffee Click Here: https://buymeacoffee.com/forestfantv Join Wolfie on Forest Fan TV for a sizzling transfer update as Newcastle United reignite their interest in Nottingham Forest's star winger, Anthony Elanga. After Forest rejected a £35m bid from the Magpies on Deadline Day last summer, recent reports indicate Newcastle are back, with Forest holding firm on a valuation exceeding £50m. Wolfie dissects whether Forest should consider cashing in on the 23-year-old Swedish speedster, who bagged five goals and nine assists last season, or if keeping him is crucial for Nuno Espírito Santo's European ambitions. With Elanga's pace and popularity in the squad, is £50m+ enough, or should Forest demand more for their key man? The transfer saga doesn't stop there! Wolfie also dives into the implications of Evangelos Marinakis' recent boardroom moves. Last month, Marinakis placed his Forest shares in a blind trust to comply with UEFA's dual-ownership rules, as his other club, Olympiacos, secured a Champions League spot. With Forest now likely settling for Europa League or Conference League football, Marinakis can retake full control of the club, potentially influencing transfer strategy. Wolfie explores how this change could shape Forest's approach to Elanga's future and their summer spending plans, especially with the allure of European football on the horizon. Should Forest sell Elanga to fund a squad overhaul, or is he too vital to let go? With Newcastle circling and Marinakis back at the helm, the summer transfer window promises to be a blockbuster for Forest. Join Wolfie and the Grumpy Old Reds panel for a fiery LIVE episode as we dive into the latest Nottingham Forest transfer news! The City Ground is buzzing with the imminent arrival of Botafogo's star trio—Igor Jesus, Jair Cunha, and Cuiabano—with deals reportedly finalised for a combined €30m+ for the striker, centre-back, and left-back. Fresh off Igor Jesus' emotional Instagram farewell to Botafogo and a confirmed contract until 2030, the panel breaks down how these signings could transform Nuno Espírito Santo's squad for the Premier League and Europa Conference League. Join the live chat and share YOUR thoughts on these blockbuster moves! But it's not all good news—Danilo's potential €25m exit to Lyon has hit a snag, with the midfielder unhappy about a clause hinting at a future move to Botafogo, preferring a return to Palmeiras if he goes back to Brazil. Wolfie and the panel dissect this complicated transfer saga, debating whether Forest should cash in on the 24-year-old, who's been a key cog with 62 appearances and six goals, or keep him to maintain squad depth. With Evangelos Marinakis' ties to Lyon and Botafogo owner John Textor driving these deals, is this a financial masterstroke or a risky move? We'll explore how Danilo's departure could impact Forest's midfield and their European ambitions. Plus, we're covering all things transfers, including whispers of a possible Europa League lifeline if Crystal Palace face UEFA ownership issues, and Forest's pursuit of Galatasaray's Barış Alper Yılmaz. Get ready for passionate debates, grumpy rants, and plenty of Forest banter! Jump into the live chat, let us know YOUR opinions on the Botafogo trio, Danilo's drama, and Forest's transfer strategy, and don't forget to like, subscribe, and hit the bell for all the latest Nottingham Forest updates! #nffc #nottinghamforest #transfernews Learn more about your ad choices. Have the chances of Nottingham Forest playing in the Europa League improved now? To Buy Wolfie a Coffee Click Here: https://buymeacoffee.com/forestfantv Join Wolfie on Forest Fan TV for the latest Forest news update as we dive into the dramatic developments surrounding Crystal Palace's UEFA Europa League saga. In this video, Wolfie breaks down the outcome of Palace's crunch meeting with UEFA, where co-owner John Textor's proposal to place his shares in a blind trust was rejected due to a missed registration deadline. This decision has left Palace's European dreams hanging by a thread, with their multi-club ownership issues involving Textor's stakes in both Palace and Lyon creating a major hurdle. The rejection of Textor's blind trust plan has significantly limited Crystal Palace's options, with the club now facing the possibility of complete expulsion from European competitions. To make matters worse, another Palace shareholder, David Blitzer, has ties to Danish club Brøndby, who qualified for the Conference League, ruling out a potential demotion to that competition. Wolfie discusses how this chaotic situation has opened the door for Nottingham Forest, who finished seventh in the Premier League and secured a Conference League spot, to potentially be promoted to the Europa League if Palace are disqualified. With UEFA's decision expected before the Europa Conference League qualifying draw on June 17, the clock is ticking for Palace to find a solution, possibly through Textor selling his 43% stake. Wolfie explores what this means for Nottingham Forest's European ambitions, highlighting the improved chances of Nuno Espírito Santo's side stepping up to the Europa League. Could this be Forest's big break to shine on the European stage? Tune in for Wolfie's insights, analysis, and thoughts on how this could shape Forest's season. Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Broadcaster Russ Williams, Patrick Tyrant and David Harris via Irish Hotspur as our 2024/25 Premier League campaign ended on a disappointing note as we suffered a 4-1 home reverse to Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday afternoon. After one of the greatest weeks in the Club's history as we celebrated Europa League success, a difficult league season concluded with another defeat as the visitors hit four unanswered goals in the second half after we'd led at half-time through a Dominic Solanke penalty. The hectic week and long season probably took its toll in the second period as Jack Hinshelwood netted twice, Matt O'Riley converted a penalty and Diego Gomez scored a fine goal in the final minutes to give the Seagulls all three points and ensuring we finished the campaign in 17th place in the table. We reflect on what the campaign means for Ange Postecoglou and his long-term future at the club, with Daniel Levy understood to be presently undecided on whether to stick-or-twist with Postecoglou.
