#1024 | Ed and Daniel pick over the wreckage of England's World Cup, and neither is in a forgiving mood. The charge is that Thomas Tuchel did not just lose the semi-final, he threw it away. From the squad he built for one way of playing, the ball-players left at home, and a midfield of athletes with nobody to control a game, which is why the calls for Kobbie Mainoo only grew louder all tournament.  On the match itself, England managed the first 55 minutes well and shut Messi out before Tuchel took off his goalscorer, went to a back five and codified a retreat so complete that England managed two accurate passes in 18 minutes. It's a sacking offense, but the FA, who backed Tuchel on LinkedIn within the hour and tied him to Euro 2028, will do nothing.  Then there's Kane's future and the lack of a successor, England's missing identity and the intensity gap with everyone else, and to close, a turn to United, Carrick's project, summer signings, and a pre-season that kicks off against Wrexham in Helsinki. 0:00 Intro 5:29 Tuchel's Tactics and Balance Issues 15:03 Argentina Collapse 26:16 Should Tuchel Be Sacked? 28:33 Euro 2028 and Harry Kane's Future 38:35 England's National Identity 43:55 Manchester United Preview 52:37 Outro If you are interested in supporting the show and accessing a weekly exclusive bonus episode, check out our Patreon page or subscribe on Apple Podcasts. On this episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete and Sids record from New York following England's heartbreaking World Cup semi-final defeat to Argentina, reflecting on an emotional night that saw Thomas Tuchel's side come agonisingly close to reaching a World Cup final. The lads discuss the incredible atmosphere surrounding the tournament, the unique experience of covering football across America, and why this World Cup has delivered some of the most memorable stadiums and fan experiences they've ever witnessed. The boys break down exactly where England's semi-final slipped away, debating whether sitting too deep ultimately cost them, the tactical decisions made in the closing stages, and whether the substitutions should have been more attacking. They discuss Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham's performances, Declan Rice's importance to the side, the emergence of Jed Spence and Dan Burn, and whether this England squad should ultimately be remembered as a success despite the painful exit.Former England defender Gary Neville then joins the pod for an honest and emotional reaction to England's defeat. Gary explains what it feels like to be knocked out of a major tournament, why players carry those moments for the rest of their lives, and analyses Thomas Tuchel's biggest decisions. He also discusses England's defensive approach, whether the criticism of Tuchel is justified, the positives to take from the tournament, and why this World Cup has been one of the best football spectacles in recent memory. There's also another ridiculous challenge as the boys swap footballs for darts with Morgan Rogers. Meanwhile Chris Stark dials in a special interview with the Blossoms as they discuss their new music and thoughts on the world cup so far.Wrapping up with the latest Paddy Power Predictions League ahead of the World Cup Final, Tom's predictions from afar, and plenty of classic TPCP chaos—including power cuts, questionable New York backdrops and the usual nonsense. As always, leave your predictions in the comments below and let us know who you think will lift the World Cup.00:00 - New York catch-up & World Cup reflections03:07 - The best stadiums of the tournament05:04 - England's semi-final heartbreak07:39 - Gary Neville joins the pod09:24 - Where England lost the game13:53 - Tuchel's substitutions analysed20:00 - The positives from England's tournament22:51 - Life after football & Gary Neville37:12 - Darts challenge with Morgan Rogers41:09 - Chris Stark & Blossoms!01:06:52 - World Cup Final Paddy Power predictions01:10:13 - Final thoughts from New York01:11:13 - EndFor more Peter Crouch:Twitter - https://twitter.com/petercrouchTherapy Crouch - https://www.youtube.com/@thetherapycrouchFor more Tom Fordyce:Twitter - https://twitter.com/tomfordyceFor more Steve Sidwell:Twitter - https://twitter.com/sjsidwell14Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/stevesidwell14#PeterCrouch #ThatPeterCrouchPodcast Hosted on Acast. Live from Atlanta, Christian Polanco and Alexis Guerreros deliver an immediate, high-energy live reaction show following Argentina's thrilling 2-1 comeback victory over England in the World Cup semifinal. The hosts launch directly into a scathing critique of England manager Thomas Tuchel, placing 100% of the blame squarely at his feet for executing an incredibly cowardly low-block game plan after Anthony Gordon put the Three Lions up 1-0. They highlight an embarrassing statistic showing that England averaged a meager 12% possession between Gordon's opening goal and Lautaro Martinez's dramatic match-winner. The guys break down the pivotal tactical adjustments and execution blunders that allowed the reigning champions to completely manipulate the second half of play. They analyze Enzo Fernández's spectacular equalizing strike against Jordan Pickford, set up by a composed pass from a slow-walking but deeply calculated Lionel Messi. The tactical breakdown extends to England's fatal defensive lapse in the 92nd minute, where a fresh Ezri Konsa and John Stones were caught completely asleep on the far post, allowing the shorter Lautaro Martinez to secure the victory with an open header. Beyond the action on the pitch, Christian and Alexis read through viral social media reactions from figures like Wayne Rooney, Iker Casillas, and Zito condemning England's hyper-pragmatic approach. They break down Enzo Fernández's standout performance as their "Stock Up" player while labeling Thomas Tuchel's decision-making as total coaching malpractice for "Stock Down". Finally, they react to a breaking medical report regarding Arsenal center-back William Saliba undergoing back surgery before looking ahead to the massive Argentina vs. Spain final matchup and sharing their closing tour details for New York City's Webster Hall.   Timestamps: (00:00) — Initial Reactions to Argentina's 2-1 Semifinal Comeback Over England. Last night was a disgrace, and I'm not holding back. In this video, I'm breaking down exactly why I believe it's time to sack TIMID TOMMY and stop the rot. I'm sick of seeing the Three Lions playing like pussies when we have the talent to take on anyone. Was it the tactics? Was it the lack of passion? I'll tell you exactly what I saw from the touchline and why that timid approach after we scored cost us everything. It's time for some home truths about the state of the national team and why we need a total overhaul if we ever want to see a trophy again.
