We Are The Messengers

May we, the church, be an ever glowing light in a world of such darkness.

Are you comfortable with the fact that you may not be recognized for what God is doing in your life? There is no need to worry...God does not approve of us based upon what we can do, but rather in the perfect, finished work in his son Jesus Christ.

When we look to Jesus, we see that all of our sin has been put to death on the cross. It's done. In order to set our sights on the things above, we must first set our hearts and minds on Jesus. When we do this, it is not our sin or our selves, but Jesus who becomes the object of our affection.

A bad decision does not have to be the definition of your life. Nearly all of our sinful decisions can be traced back to a place in the fallen human heart that says, "I do not trust you, God".

Those whom God may use greatly must first be wounded deeply. Suffering is inextricably bound to the Christian walk. Often times we suffer, not because of our folly, but rather because of our faithfulness. May we all learn to suffer well by the grace of God.

The book of Galatians gives an account of the apostle Paul addressing a very serious subject that still applies to the Church today. Paul warned the Galatians that attending church to simply appease or manipulate God is actually both evil and demonic. Unfortunately, that same ancient evil is still prevalent in the modern day church. "The Bible Belt" is full of churches on every corner and any time that a person enters those doors with anything other than total reliance and thankfulness towards God's unmerited favor, then that person is under powerful demonic influence. One cannot expect to appease God on Easter and Christmas by simply sitting through a service like the ancient pagans did. Our one and only hope is the atoning blood of Jesus Christ.
