In the ninth episode of our podcast series, Yorked, we revisited India's maiden Test series triumph in Pakistan. On this day, 16 years ago, India convincingly beat their traditional rivals, Pakistan, in the third Test at Rawalpindi, recording a historic 2-1 series win, which also happened to be their first Test series win away from home in a decade. Member of that side Aakash Chopra shared ancedotes from that series, the dressing room atmosphere, batting with Virender Sehwag during his epic 309 in Multan and more. Network 18 Group editor (sports), Gaurav Kalra, who was working in production with the official broadcaster at that time, too reflected on many cherished memories from that tour where India emerge victorious both in the One-Day and the Test format.

On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of India lifting the World Championship of Cricket at the MCG, in this episode of Yorked, we caught up with two 80s kids – Gaurav Kalra and Devendra Prabhudesai – who not only recalled India's famous win but revisited their embellished memories of their childhood which for once weren't grainy, courtesy the heightened and never-seen-before broadcasting experience, provided by Australia's broadcaster Channel Nine.  Such was the cricketing spectacle that Kalra remembers watching cricket as a 'liberating and a fun experience', that stuck with him as a nine-year old. 

As Priyam Garg and his boys prepare for the upcoming ICC U19 World Cup Final against Bangladesh, in this episode of Yorked, we take you back 20 years to celebrate India's maiden World Cup win at the junior level.  We were joined by former U19 World Champion and the Player of the Final of the 2000 edition, Reetinder Singh Sodhi, who shared some fond memories of that successful campaign along with Gaurav Kalra, who was one of the only few journalists covering the Indian U19 team in Sri Lanka.
