In Part 2 of this mini series on Collagen Loss, Dr. Mary Alice Mina moves from biology to action: the exact morning and evening skincare routine that makes sense for post-menopausal skin, which ingredients actually have evidence behind them, and which in-office treatments are worth the money. She walks through why a routine built for oily 20-something skin works against you later, then breaks down a simple AM routine (gentle cleanse, antioxidant/vitamin C serum, moisturizer, sunscreen) and PM routine (cleanse, retinol/retinoid as the cornerstone anti-aging ingredient, moisturizer), plus how to exfoliate without damaging the skin barrier. She then ranks in-office options — red light therapy, IPL, microneedling, neurotoxins, resurfacing lasers, chemical peels, and skin-tightening devices — explaining who each is right for and when surgery becomes the better conversation. The message throughout: it doesn't need to be complicated or expensive, just consistent and matched to where your skin actually is. What does it actually mean when a med spa says it offers “laser treatments”? The answer is far more complicated than most patients realize. In this episode of Plastic Surgery Uncensored, Dr. Rady Rahban is joined once again by Charlene, RN, for part three of their series examining the increasingly popular and often misunderstood world of nonsurgical aesthetic treatments. Together, Dr. Rahban and Charlene break down technologies including BBL, IPL, erbium resurfacing, and HALO, while exploring one of the most important issues in laser medicine: treating darker skin tones safely. They also discuss the relationship between downtime and results, why more aggressive treatments are not always appropriate for every patient, and how improper settings or inadequate pre- and post-treatment skincare can lead to burns, worsening pigmentation, and disappointing outcomes. This episode is not about promoting one laser or claiming that a single device can do it all. In fact, that is precisely the point. The right technology must be matched to the right problem, the right skin type, and the right patient.✨ If you enjoyed this episode of Plastic Surgery Uncensored:✔️ Subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you listen.✔️ Rate & Review—your feedback helps more people find us.✔️ Follow Dr. Rady Rahban across all platforms for daily insights, behind-the-scenes, and patient education:Instagram: @drradyrahbanTikTok: @radyrahbanMDYouTube: @Rady RahbanFacebook: @Rady Rahban✔️ Share this episode with someone considering plastic surgery—the right knowledge can save a life.

India's official national sport is hockey, yet the nation's most popular is cricket. Why did one game capture the imagination of millions while the other, despite its golden Olympic legacy, fade into the background? In this episode, we rewind to hockey's glory days — six consecutive Olympic golds, legends like Dhyan Chand, and packed stadiums — and contrast them with cricket's meteoric rise after the 1983 World Cup victory. We'll explore how television, accessibility, star power, and the spectacle of the IPL transformed cricket into a cultural phenomenon, while hockey struggled to keep pace. From colonial roots to modern entertainment, from national pride to emotional resonance, this is the story of how cricket became India's “religion without rituals,” and why hockey, though respected, never achieved the same grip on the nation's soul.Instagram: @samarthchittaTwitter: @samarthchittaEmail: samarth.chitta@gmail.com

Ed Cowan is an Australian test cricketer, investor, podcaster and author. He's one of those people whose name I jotted down 6 years ago when I started the show earmarked as a ‘dream guest'.He played in a golden era of Australian cricket and did so at a time when I was obsessed with the sport myself (I had delusions about being a test cricketer) and therefore like the music of your youth those cricketers you grew up with leave a certain impression. I've since been a long time listener of his 'Scaling Up' podcast series and tune in weekly for the ABC Cricket Podcast where he is a co-host.Ed has an occasionally controversial, but always influential voice on the Australian cricketing landscape. It's an absolute pleasure to have recorded this with him.He had 32 test innings for Australia across 18 matches, scored one test hundred and over 1000 runs in total. You'll find a link to both his book and his podcast here. Leave a review on Apple or Spotify (nothing does more to help grow the show)It's an enormous pleasure to have spoken with Ed, we discussed...How Ed always kept a foot in multiple worlds, even though it came at a cost. The transition out of professional sport and why so many athletes struggle with it.His mentor Peter RoebuckMental health in cricket and how the culture has shifted. His Test career: the debut hundred, the weight of expectation, homework-gate, and his illness that coincided with the Ashes and the end of his international career.Ed's views on IPL money, BBL privitisation and governance. The business of cricket: how he'd restructure Cricket Australia, player pay, and bringing patient, evergreen capital into the Big Bash. And, as always, the role serendipity has played in his life, to which, as an opening batsman, he had the perfect answer.Timestamps...00:00 — Realising a cricket career was possible02:17 — Under-19s in Sri Lanka, surrounded by future Test players07:38 — The transition myth: why it's a decade, not twelve months14:08 — Do athletes have too much free time?17:03 — Travel, brooding, and the Matthew Talbot shelter that shifted his perspective27:02 — The Cricinfo depression piece33:31 — NSW's logjam of talent and the fresh start in Tasmania36:30 — Called up to Australia; the left-handed-opener mystery39:36 — Peter Roebuck: discipline, mangoes, and the debut century dedicated to him44:43 — The 18 innings: expectation, emotional regulation, homework-gate50:42 — The Ashes, falling ill, and his final Test54:00 — Resentment, selection, and "perception is reality"55:12 — Death of a Gentleman, the IPL, and cricket's governance crisis1:00:23 — Ambitions in cricket; the ABC podcast as a public service1:08:08 — Privatising the Big Bash and bringing in patient capital1:13:55 — Serendipity, Gideon Haig, and "I was an opening batsman"Some choice snippets from the conversation. On transition out of sport"A lot of sportspeople think transition is your last twelve months of playing and your first twelve months of the real world. That's only a tiny speck of what it actually looks like. You come out of sport and you're at the bottom of the next mountain — you've got the tools to climb it, but that's another journey in and of itself."On identity"One of the thresholds is: do you still think of yourself as a cricketer? It's not part of my identity anymore at all. Some people say, 'You're the guy who used to play cricket.' Yeah, that was me. But that takes a while."On the perspective that pulled him out of a funk (volunteering at the Matthew Talbot shelter)"Here I was brooding over nicking one to second slip the day before. And here are guys who hadn't made any bad choices — they were just out of luck."On the chip on his shoulder"You think I'm not training hard enough? I'll beat you in the beep test. You think I'm not preparing properly? I'll get a hundred on the weekend."On why cricket breeds brooders"The output's objective. There's nothing subjective about getting a twenty-ball duck. And the time lag from error to atonement is long — it can be two days, and you're doing nothing.""The key to good mental health in cricket is celebrating your teammates' success. That's rarer than you'd think."On the fresh start in Tasmania"The joy of a fresh start is you can be whoever you want to be the moment you walk in the door. There's no judgment about what school you went to. You're judged from day one only."On luck (the serendipity close)"Two more centimetres of Morne Morkel's size-fourteen boot behind the line, and I'm out for forty-eight. No one remembers Ed Cowan, Test century.""The harder you work, the luckier you get. Luck can come and find you — but it's up to each individual to make that lucky moment count."On the business of cricket"Our best players probably don't get paid enough, and our worst players get paid too much.""An IPL owner's incentive is not to grow the Big Bash. Dr. Judith Borger, board-certified physician and medical director of Concierge Medical Arts, breaks down energy-based devices by skin concern, so you can walk in informed and walk out glowing.  What We Cover Pigmentation & Uneven Skin Tone Sun spots, age spots, melasma, and dullness — Dr. Borger explains how IPL targets melanin, what "peppering" means and why it's actually a good sign, and how the Light & Bright treatment handles pigmentation and redness in one session. Vascular Concerns — Redness, Rosacea & Veins Not all redness is the same. Dr. Borger walks through the difference between treating diffuse rosacea versus visible facial and leg veins, and which devices reach which vessels. Skin Resurfacing — Texture, Pores, Scars & Fine Lines If your goal is smoother, clearer skin, this is your segment. Dr. Borger covers fractional laser resurfacing, thermo-mechanical treatments, and why traditional microneedling still earns its place in a comprehensive treatment plan. Skin Tightening & Lifting Loose skin, loss of firmness, jowling, crepey necks — Dr. Borger explains the difference between surface-level and deep-tissue tightening, including treatments that reach the same foundational layer targeted in surgical facelifts. Laser Hair Removal The Lutronic Clarity II's dual-wavelength system makes it safe for all skin types — and why most patients call it virtually painless.   Dr. Judith Borger Links: www.theaestheticdoctor.com www.instagram.com/doctorborger

After listening to Dr. Chris Wolfe's discussion on the dangers of becoming a specialist at the expense of comprehensive care, Aaron explores a different challenge facing optometry: the reluctance to embrace sales. Drawing on Daniel Pink's To Sell Is Human, he argues that ethical selling is simply helping patients trade time, money, effort, and trust for a better outcome. Through real-world examples, from contact lenses and IPL to restaurant servers and his own dentist, he explains why conviction, communication, and trust often matter more than clinical knowledge alone, and why becoming a better communicator may be one of the most valuable skills any healthcare professional can develop. From there it's a tour of Australian cricket news: Cooper Connolly's breakout ODI century against Bangladesh, debut performances from Joel Davies and Nikhil Chowdhury, a strong start for the Australian women's team at the T20 World Cup, and a deep dive into the messy, stalled privatisation of the Big Bash League, including Cricket Victoria's botched (and reversed) axing of the Stars and Renegades. 2026 was the first IPL season after India banned online real money gaming last year. The platforms were gone and the payment gateways were blocked. The government had made its position clear. The betting, however, did not stop. The Ken's Mrunmayee Kulkarni went looking for where it went and found it hiding inside something the government itself built. On platforms like 99 Exchange, gamblers deposit and withdraw money directly through UPI, gambler to gambler, with no mule network and no victim to file a complaint. But the ED's tools were designed for a system that leaves a trail. This one doesn't.In this episode, Mrunmayee joins host Snigdha Sharma to walk through how the money actually moves, and why the enforcement machinery has no good answer for it yet.Tune in.Daybreak is produced from the newsroom of The Ken, India's first subscriber-only business news platform. Jonty Rhodes, one of our favourite cricketers ever and arguably the best fielder the game has ever seen, is our very special guest this week. A whole generation of cricket fans, including us, grew up watching Jonty do things on a cricket field that had never been seen before - extraordinary catches, diving stops and ridiculous run outs - a proper pioneer. In a wide ranging interview we cover his career highlights, the players he now admires, the art of fielding, THAT 1999 World Cup Semi Final, investing in franchise cricket, coaching in the IPL and crucially which character in 'The Lion King' does he most resemble? Plus Mattchin is back with a ‘Jonty Rhodes' inspired quiz.

A eulogy to another incredible performance by the extraodinary 15 year old Vaibhav Sooryavanchi in the IPL. In yesterday's innings of 97 in 29 balls he surpassed Chris Gayle's record tally of 59 sixes in one edition of the IPL. Sooryavanchi has now hit 65, many off some of the world's greatest bowlers - Pat Cummins was struck for 4 yesterday. Sooryavanchi has also resumed his place at the top of the IPL runmakers leaderboard with 680 at a strike rate of 240. And this on the day (May 27th 1938) when Sir Donald Bradman became the only man to twice score 1000 first class runs before the end of May (the previous time was in 1930.) Sooryavanchi is exhibiting the same incredible dominance and almost comic-book supremacy as Bradman did then. #india #ipl #power #unstoppable Learn more about your ad choices. This episode gets under the bonnet: how it actually works, what it means for players, why it's reshaping cricket's global talent economy, and whether any of it translates to the UK market. The conversation moves fast from mechanics to philosophy: competitive balance vs. team identity, player as commodity vs. player as inspiration, and the central tension of the hundred — is it building something sustainable, or is it a VC play dressed up as a sport?Guests Charlie Hartley — Former county cricketer (Kent), entrepreneur.
