Mississauga, Ontario's ALESSIA COHLE began her life in music at a very early age when she began playing piano and singing at age four. Her passion for country music began after attending her first concert – Shania Twain’s ‘Come On Over Tour’ — at age 8. This experience ignited a spark, inspiring her to follow a career in music. Soon, Alessia began performing at local fairs and festivals, as well as on stage with her singer grandfather, and her bass-playing father. Alessia is poised to contribute to the future of country music with the release of her debut EP “Let’s Get Gone” in the spring of 2015. Alessia explains: “It’s a collection of songs that reflect my personality, allowing me to entirely expose my heart and soul. The lyrics in each song express a different message ranging from love, heartache, self- discovery and self-worth. These songs, both lyrically and melodically, have given me the opportunity to grow as a person and an artist.” The first single “Sunday Shoes” hit radio back in April, 2015.The song is infectious and will make you want to sing along and muddy up those shoes! Other stand out tracks on the EP included “Here Comes the Summer”, “Chain It Up”, and the title track, “Let’s Get Gone” – which were written or co-written by Alessia. Tune in and get to know Alessia and her music!

Paul talks to Andrew about his experience and lessons from the conference as well as his own music career. To close out the show, we have one rising star and one established star of country music that are currently on the road together on the Outlaws & Outsiders Tour. Cory Marquardt tells Mike how he went from being a junior hockey player and a fighter jet pilot in training to playing in front of thousands of music fans opening for Toby Keith and working with some of Nashville's biggest writers and producers. Aaron Pritchett has been one of the genre’s most consistent hit makers over the past 15 years or so, with such songs as “Hold My Beer,” “Big Wheel,” “Let’s Get Rowdy,” which have all been gathered together in his new greatest hits collection, Body of Work. Our Canadian Spotlight Song of the Week is “Madly, Deeply” by Toronto-based country artist Melonie Ungar.
