When I saw her on stage at That's What She Said 2025, she shined like a diamond. Authentic, sweet and funny. A few messages later, and I got to meet the star for a long-form interview of her performance. Listen as this Farmer City girl talks about the unique spelling of her name, her career in philanthropy, infertility treatments, the heart-wrenching ending to the birth of her triplets, how to approach a grieving mother and family and the effects child-loss has on parenting her son Hudson and girl Cooper. We then make the worst transition ever into divorce, online dating, dating coaching and her future in divorce coaching. Finally, and most importantly, Lesa talks about how she has never been happily. No one deserves a happier ever after more than this bright light. I'd like to thank this episode's sponsor, the United Way of Champaign County. Send us a textPalesa Segomotso Motsumi, a trailblazing creative social entrepreneur, shares her journey from the corporate grind to the exciting world of art and social change. Through her groundbreaking work with Sematsatsa Library and projects like "Hashtag That's What She Said," Palesa uses art as a powerful medium to spark dialogue and transform communities across South Africa. Her story is a testament to the power of art in fostering inclusivity and empowering women, as she highlights the diverse and interconnected nature of visual arts, music, fashion, and architecture. As Palesa tells us in this conversation, passion, resilience and sacrifice are the bare minimum you need to take a leap from corporate to entrepreneurship. But it also takes the support of people who believe in you. Palesa has moved from her hometown of Bloemfontein, through the art scenes of Johannesburg and Cape Town and she gives us a taste of her experiences there. Find out how she moved from reluctant curator to a powerful player with her own arts agency and consultancy. Find out how she has balanced the need for financial stability with her work as a social entrepreneur, and how she advises young artists to create their own sustainable careers in this space. Through her work and connecting with artists and curators who inspire new narratives in the art world, Palesa now has a dream of creating an institution that would give back to the community that nurtured her talent and supported her career. Palesa draws inspiration from figures like Ghanaian artist, Ibrahim Mahama, and her passion for gardening and plants, which also influences her life life philosophy. Check out my new Podcast That's What She Said! First episode releasing tomorrow!! https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/thats-what-she-said-with-hailey-elizabeth/id1783880425 https://open.spotify.com/show/29HGIZm8sYKygKtKRya2HI?si=b865a1f9fcc04a28 The Sills family was described as a power unit family. Dr. Scott Sills was a fertility doctor that dedicated his life to help women have children and offer them treatments to aid in the process. He was passionate about his work and even wrote successful medical papers and appeared on the show “The Dr.s” for his incredible research into fertility. Scott shared his life with his beautiful wife Susan and their 2 children and together the family was a picture perfect happy family. Susan herself was a successful business woman and worked hard to help others get their small businesses off the ground. But in November 2016, police would show up to the family home to find Susan dead at the bottom of the steps with a strangulation mark around her neck. Scotts explanation of what happened? The dogs had tied a scarf around her neck, strangled her, then killed her. The police weren't buying it and it wasn't until they went into the daughters bedroom, where they would uncover the bloody scene of what actually happened to Susan Sills. Happy Monday, Christmas fanatics! We were going to wait to drop this episode until midway through October, but since life got in the way this week and we didn't get around to recording our episode on "The Addams Family" - and given the fact this episode is six-and-a-half episodes - we decided to drop this Spooky Season treat now so you have time to listen to it in full before Halloween! You've heard us refer to it a few times already in other episodes, but it's finally here: The 2024 "Tis the Podcast" Ultimate Horror Movie Bracket! In this special episode, which is becoming an annual tradition, Anthony is joined by a whole slew of special guests and self-labeled horror aficionados to determine the best horror movie amongst those listed on this year's bracket, March Madness style! The guests include: Ron Hogan and Lindsey Grelis of "Film Strip Podcast" Kendal Farrae of "Two Girls One Crypt" Matt Spaulding of "North Pole Radio" Listen as they debate and argue in real time to determine which horror movies advance through this NCAA-esque scary movie bracket as iconic films are pitted against one another in four different "divisions" for a chance to be named the best horror movie! Are Horror-comedies scary enough to go far? Will Art the Clown or Jigsaw best the other? Does Ghostface stand a chance against Michael Myers in the battle of the Legacy Sequels? Can The Warrens make it all the way again? Is "Lisa Frankenstein" too quirky to defeat "Jennifer's Body"? Is Pearl a scarier psychopath than little "Orphan" Esther? Do the Predators or the Xenomorphs star in the better prequel film? Will Zombies or Deadites reign supreme in the battle of the remakes? Which found footage franchise will go furthest this year? Is Annabelle or The Nun the scarier monster to get its own spinoff in "The Conjuring"-verse? All of these questions and much, much more are answered in this extraordinarily fun episode full of quotes, impressions, trivia, nostalgia, serenading, and laughs. This is one you definitely do not want to miss - even if it'll take you a few sittings to finish it given its length. (That's What She Said.) But that's what happens when you get a bunch of scary movie buffs onto a recording together - there's a lot of passionate gushing and vigorous debate going on here in an episode that took three recordings and a lot of blood, sweat, and tears to finish, which is why we've decided once again to drop this in your main feed instead of on Patreon. So settle in with your Pumpkin Spice Lattes, relax, and enjoy! And make sure to let us known on social media what your hosts got right, what they got wrong, and which horror movie you think should have come out on top this year! As always, thanks for your love and support, y'all! ❤️

I had the pleasure of meeting weekly with Airiel Sadler during the 2024 rehearsals of That's What She Said. She was shy, then sweet, then vulnerable, then funny then articulate. Each time I listened to her speak, her words became more dynamic and more meaningful. She got 7 minutes on stage. Here is the full story of her glorious mess. Listen as this Champaign-born, Chicago-raised, Champaign-adulting sweetheart of a women talks about her formative years running around the streets of Chicago while her mom worked full-time as a nurse. This 14-year-old girl became pregnant and gave birth to the love of her life, Mae. She chose to raise her daughter with pride and strength and more love than one mother can hope to give. Physical pain, trauma and debilitating mental health struggles were only a few of the hurdles she faced while earning her licensed clinical social worker credentials. She is also an advocate for vulnerable populations and an author of multiple books. Now she faces her next chapter as her daughter prepares to fly the coop. She calls everyone, "family," and now she is part of mine.Thank you so much for listening! However your podcast host of choice allows, please positively: rate, review, comment and give all the stars!
