Theatre of the MIND presents a tremendous collection of truly fascinating, yet totally unrehearsed, performances by volunteer audience members under the guidance of Robert LAMAR. These volunteers become the stars of this expertly produced presentation that should not be confused with what many would consider traditional hypnosis. Throughout Theatre of the MIND, LAMAR invites his audience into a world where he encourages volunteers to enter a highly focused state of attention. Perhaps, for the first time in their lives, participants let their hidden creative personalities leap to their full potential as LAMAR masterfully taps into their unexplored creativity. Volunteers may assume the persona of popular icons like Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Shania Twain or President George W. Bush. All of these pseudo stars may share the stage with another volunteer preoccupied with capturing a six foot grasshopper in one of many hilarious scenes. The performances of the audience volunteers are completely unrehearsed. In fact, as Theatre of the MIND unfolds, it is very difficult to believe the participants are simply audience members. Because of this, each performance of Theatre of the MIND is totally unique. Every show is a one of a kind experience. In addition, a technically clever combination of music, lighting and special effects combine to create a modern show that appeals to today's audiences. Theatre of the MIND is an original and a professional family show. Volunteers are not embarrassed or humiliated in any way, and all in attendance benefit from LAMAR's two decades of study and experience in this specialized art. This is certainly one of Canada's most consistently acclaimed hypnotic attractions. Audiences are certain to be amazed whenever they enter Theatre of the MIND.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-x-zone-radio-tv-show--1078348/support.Please note that all XZBN radio and/or television shows are Copyright © REL-MAR McConnell Meda Company, Niagara, Ontario, Canada – www.rel-mar.com. In The Ripple Eclipse: Turning the Tide of Inherited Trauma, Audrey Hyams Romoff masterfully navigates between two seemingly disparate worlds: the glamorous, high-stakes realm of celebrity public relations and her ongoing struggle to break free from the grip of inherited trauma. With unflinching candour, wit, and a veteran storyteller's ear for dramatic moments, Hyams Romoff expands the lexicon of silent suffering, introducing a new way to describe how pain ripples across generations and obscures joy. For over thirty years, Hyams Romoff has been a fixture on Canada's cultural landscape, running the renowned agency OverCat Communications and shaping the public image of A-list clients, including Lady Gaga, Sarah Jessica Parker, Katy Perry, will.i.am, Isabella Rossellini, Timothy Olyphant, and Shania Twain. Audrey grew up in the shadow of silence—her mother and grandmother survived the Holocaust but never spoke of it. One of Auschwitz's youngest survivors, her mother was emotionally unreachable. Her father became her lifeline. At forty-five, tragedy struck: her parents were found dead together in their garage. Her mother's suicide was clear; her father's death remains a mystery. From that darkness, she emerged with a vow: to confront the trauma that impacted four generations of women in her family. Audrey's titular metaphor, "ripple eclipse," neatly captures how trauma, particularly one as profound as surviving Auschwitz, is not confined to the person who endures it. Instead, its impact ripples outward, affecting children, grandchildren, and generations beyond. Want to watch: YouTube Meisterkhan Pod (Please Subscribe)
In this episode, I sit down with Brjánn Batista Bettencourt - a Toronto-based photographer and cinematographer known for his analog and Super 8 work - to talk about what it actually looks like to shoot film in the wedding industry today.Brjánn shares how his journey from photojournalism to weddings, his skateboarding background, and his Portuguese-Canadian roots shaped the way he tells stories. Highlights from our biggest live show yet! We're thrilled to share our first ever live episode, recorded in September 2025 at The Royal Opera House in front of 2200 Dish fans. Our guest, Jack Whitehall, is an English comedian, presenter, actor and writer - and no stranger to stages of such grandeur. Jack joined us to help settle Nick and Angela's nerves and provide just a little bit of chaos in our on-stage kitchen. The night is one huge celebration of Dish, complete with special guests, a house band (thank you Sous Chefs), a trap door and more dry ice than we ever thought possible. The show starts with a glass of Veuve Clicquot to celebrate a landmark moment before Nick mixes up an old fashioned for Jack. Angela serves an aubergine parmigiana, a Dish classic that proved a big hit for Shania Twain last year, alongside a glass of Prunotto Barolo, paired by the Waitrose wine experts. Jack can be seen in the new Prime Video show Malice, where he plays a manipulative male nanny alongside David Duchovny and Carice van Houten. The role involved some cheffing skills, which come much more naturally to Jack than his father Michael, who is in the crowd for this show. From food likes and dislikes to the Fast Food Quiz under a spotlight, and a goody bag reveal that comes out of nowhere, this is Dish - but not like you've seen it before. The show took place on the same night as the launch party of Angela's new restaurant, Cicoria, situated on the top floor of the Opera House. You can watch full episodes of Dish on YouTube and, new for this season, on Spotify. Years ago, country singer Shania Twain recorded a song, “Man, I Feel Like a Woman.” Who would have ever believed that in less than a quarter century people could demand to be called a woman, just because they decide one day to believe a lie. But it has happened. In many parts of the world, refusing to embrace someone's lie can get you in a whole lot of trouble. Will it ever stop??Now, do you believe in this ministry? In this episode of The Bandwich Tapes, I sit down with legendary session drummer Paul Leim, whose six-decade career quietly powers a staggering piece of the soundtrack to our lives. Paul has played on more than 12,000 songs across over 2,000 releases, with 1,400+ silver/gold/platinum certifications, and global sales topping 540 million units. His discography encompasses over 150 combined GRAMMY nominations and wins, as well as 40+ major film/TV awards, and credits on more than 150 films and 100 television specials and series. If you've heard Lionel Richie, Shania Twain, Lyle Lovett, Kenny Chesney, Whitney Houston—or cues from Dirty Dancing, Smokey and the Bandit II, The River, or even Return of the Jedi, you've likely heard Paul.We trace the arc from East Texas clubs and Dallas jingle mills to late-'70s Los Angeles, where a “typical” week meant two complete drum rigs leapfrogging between Lionel Richie sessions, network TV soundstages, film dates, and award shows. Paul talks mentors and “angels” (band director Neil Grant, Robin Hood Brians, Doc Severinsen), lifelong friendships with the TCB family (Ron Tutt, Jerry Scheff), and lessons that still anchor his playing—especially dynamic control and “letting the mics work.” We get inside the high-wire reality of studio life. Paul calls it “95% boredom and 5% sheer terror”, including how to read conductors, when to lead the time, and when to ride it, and what it's like to move from live kit to orchestral percussion with John Williams. There are great shop-floor stories: cutting Lionel's “Truly” and counseling Lionel at the fork-in-the-road moment of leaving the Commodores; discovering that Lyle Lovett's “The Blues Walk” was gloriously vocal-free; and a deep dive into the precision world of Mutt Lange and Shania, ending bass notes just before the snare for mix “air,” the chrome-over-brass “important” snare, and the on-the-fly invention of tom “Mutt flaps” for short, open fills. Paul also shares a personal fork he chose differently: turning down a James Taylor tour to be home with his young family, only to hand JT the final serial-numbered Leim signature snare decades later at the White House.Today, Paul is still very much in motion: bandleading the TCB Band in Europe, steering The Tennessee Four with Thomas Gabriel to carry the Cash legacy, and jumping into Million Dollar Quartet shows—proof that the hang, the humility, and the groove endure. It's a conversation about craft, friendship, stewardship of a gift, and the choices that shape both a career and a life.Music from the Episode:Pick it Apart (Mark O'Connor)Truly (Lionel Richie)The Blues Walk (Lyle Lovett)Thank you for listening. We have a bonafide legend on How To Fail: the American singer, songwriter, guitarist, actor and philanthropist who, along with his band, sold more than 130 million albums and performed in over 50 countries for more than 40 million fans before being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It's ACTUAL Jon Bon Jovi - the frontman of the world-dominating rock band who released hits such as You Give Love A Bad Name, Blaze of Glory and Livin' On A Prayer. In this conversation we talk about his life-changing vocal cord surgery, burnout, his faith, friendship with Bruce Springsteen and how being a father has taught him he's ‘not the boss of anything anymore'. Plus: the key to a successful marriage from a rock star who has been with his childhood sweetheart, Dorethea, for 36 years! He's charming, quick-witted and yes, that famous smile still lights up the room. Bon Jovi is back with the album ‘Forever (Legendary Edition)' featuring collaborations with Bruce Springsteen, Robbie Williams, Avril Lavigne, James Bay and many more. We could not be more thrilled to have had the chance to chat with phenom Billie Jo Jones as she starts her adventure on "The Road" and gets ready to release a new album!! THE ROAD premiered Sunday, Oct. 19 (9:00 PM - 10:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network and streaming on Paramount+. We visited a little with Billie Jo about her experience there, her pre-show rituals, putting on her "Reba" hat ans so much more! Born and raised in Texas, Billie Jo Jones was destined for stardom from the very beginning. “I was putting on private concerts for my grandparents in their living room when I was just 4 or 5 years old,” she recalls. “They would sit, watch me for hours, and clap for me after everysong.” Inspired by icons like Shania Twain, the Dixie Chicks, Patsy Cline, Ray Price, and Loretta Lynn, Billie Jo developed a deep love for classic country music that continues to influence her artistry today. Never one to slow down, Billie Jo Jones is back in the spotlight with her single “Turquoise and Silver,” which is burning up the airwaves and climbing the charts at country radio. With a new album on the way, Billie Jo continues to prove she's one of the most exciting and authentic voices in modern country music. We've heard the stories of chaotic first years of 2000trees as James and his band of merry men tried to find their feet as festival organisers. But what we haven't heard about - until now - was their secret weapon for success: a woman who already had a clue what she was doing in the live music business. That hero is Sarah Gilbert, who now runs the artist liaison teams at both Trees and ATG as well and much, much, much more. Not bad for someone whose favourite metal band is Shania Twain. We go again, every Thursday morning.
In this episode of Style DNA I go on a sartorial journey with the brilliantly talented English-Italian acoustic singer, songwriter, and musician Jack Savoretti. Jack's reputation as a singer-songwriter is perfectly epitomised by those he has collaborated with over the years, which reads like a “who's who” of the music world including names such as Bob Dylan, Kylie Minogue, Shania Twain, Nile Rogers and Zucchero. We laugh about his style growing up, how important his school uniform was to him, and the identity that he gets from his clothes. Being dressed correctly is clearly important to him…he loves ”timeless elegance”. He is a good story teller in proper Italian fashion… embracing British country wear for their life in Oxfordshire, rather than for the streets of Milano where the Italians love to promenade around the shops in their Huskies and Barbours…albeit immaculate ones! He tells me he bought a 1912 tailcoat to get married in to his beautiful artist wife Jemma Powell (who also wore vintage)…sexy rock chic for the record! When his father died he found himself reaching for his father's style…particularly suede jackets which his father loved and he found it incredibly comforting to dress like “Italian men”. We discuss the privilege and the unique sartorial experience of wearing the great Italian designers…namely Armani and Brunello Cuccinelli in Venice… He makes sure he and his band are elegant and unified on stage. We talk about him asking his band to get dressed for the show sound check as he says that they perform better when they dressed….there was a professionalism and new level of respect that kicked in when they arrived for rehearsals looking smart. Jack will be celebrating his 20 year career in music for one night only at The Royal Albert Hall on Thursday 23rd April 2026. Get your tickets quickly before they are all sold out! www.jacksavoretti.com Thank you @jacksavoretti for being such an entertaining guest x

Denn vielleicht erzählt keine Musik so direkt, was Amerika gerade fühlt.

Welcome to Boozy Bracketology! This week's episode is focused on determining the best song off of the "K-Pop Demon Hunters" soundtrack. Our panel consists of Brittany, Jeff, Brandon, AJ, and Mike (who also fills in as host), and like a huge chunk of the population, we've all been flooded with these songs over the past months, and we have some opinions. If you've somehow missed this musical trend, fear not: in addition to talking all things Huntr/x and Saja Boys, somehow we also work in references to Red Hot Chili Peppers, Tom Petty, Built to Spill, Journey, Elton John, Shania Twain, Justin Bieber, Vanilla Ice, Brian McKnight, and many others. On the latest episode of Totally 80s and 90s Recall, Dave and Rob dive into 90s Country Vol. 3, revisiting an era when Nashville was churning out some of the most beloved crossover hits in music history. The duo shares their favorite tracks from artists like Garth Brooks, Shania Twain, and Brooks & Dunn, unpacking the stories behind the songs and why they resonated so strongly with audiences at the time. They'll go over some of their absolute favorites in that era as they put together a playlist worthy of any honky tonk anywhere in the world. They discuss everything from Country music to Jodie Foster, Elle Macpherson and Mutt Lange. Beyond the nostalgia, Dave and Rob explore why country music exploded in popularity during the decade. They point to the way artists struck the perfect balance between tradition and modern polish, creating a sound that felt both fresh and familiar. With the rise of music videos on CMT and the massive appeal of arena tours, country music became more accessible than ever. The genre's storytelling connected deeply with listeners across America, while its production quality rivaled pop and rock radio. For Dave and Rob, revisiting this era isn't just about the songs themselves—it's about remembering how 90s country became a cultural force that defined a generation. Drink of the evening: Cabresto Canyon Agave Spirit by Red River Distillery Shout out: Wendell Wiggins for the Awesome shirts! Our Unprofessionals love us!The WhiskeyBros roll into this one already half-fixed and fully feral, welcoming the “Meggins”—Nichols and Golden (aka Ponyboy)—to the table. Between fertility jokes, shoutouts to fan-made shirts, and a crash course on how not to Google “donkey punch,” the crew stumbles into the weirdly wholesome origin of Ponyboy's name, the messy brilliance of The Edge of Okay podcast, and why external validation is a hell of a drug.Shots of tequila and moonshine keep the honesty flowing: we get tales of dream jobs hawking luggage on QVC, picking up women in farm trucks, testosterone pellets in asses (and why that clip alone belongs on social media), and a very graphic crash course in “gentleman vs. mama's boy alpha male.” By the time they're debating whether chivalry is dead, the bros are half-convinced that being a “f-ckable Ms. Frizzle” might actually be a viable brand strategy.Somewhere between finance hacks, parenting wisdom, and suicidal Shania Twain karaoke flashbacks, the WhiskeyBros prove—once again—that nothing is off limits when whiskey, women, and wild honesty are on the table.

Bruce Bouton is an accomplished pedal steel guitarist who has played on an extensive string of massive country albums and singles from the 80's onward. From his multi-year stint backing up Ricky Skaggs, playing some of the most memorable steel licks of the era, to most of Garth Brooks' musical output all through the 90's, Bruce has also appeared on records for Emmylou Harris, Brooks & Dunn, The Mavericks, Shania Twain, Keith Urban, Taylor Swift, Reba McEntire, and many more. Bruce has incredible skill on the instrument and has found a way to come up with hooky, accessible yet technically skillful parts and solos that have contributed to the success of so many of those recordings. He's been at this a long time and brings a wealth of experience to sessions and gigs still today. Bruce also made an instructional pedal steel video that is well worth seeking out - I sure found it enlightening when I was starting to play steel. Bruce is still very active around Nashville and we had a chance to hang out at the Henhouse and spend an hour or so talking about lots of his history and path to where he is today. You can get all the current info on Bruce at his website:www.rockinlapsteel.comEnjoy my conversation with Bruce Bouton! This season is brought to you by our main sponsors Larivée Guitars, Audeze, Izotope, FabFilter, and Chase Bliss. Jana Kramer, the actress, singer, podcast host, and mother joins us to pull back the curtain on the entertainment industry's less glamorous realities and share how she's found her authentic voice through it all.Jana's story begins with remarkable determination – handing her headshot to a soap opera actor while waitressing in Detroit, then convincing a casting director she lived in New York to land her first role. This fearlessness carried her through roles on Friday Night Lights and One Tree Hill before an unexpected pivot to country music during a writers' strike revealed another dimension of her talent. What makes Jana's perspective so refreshing is her willingness to acknowledge both her strengths and limitations. "I don't have the Carrie Underwood voice," she admits, explaining how she instead leaned into emotional authenticity and stage presence. This honesty extends to her candid revelations about industry politics – from being told her CRS performance caused single failures to restrictions on her acting career while pursuing music. Her observations about women in country radio illuminate persistent gender disparities that continue despite the success of predecessors like Faith Hill and Shania Twain.Beyond career insights, Jana opens up about personal growth through therapy, the challenges of balancing touring with Dancing with the Stars competition, and finding joy in her current focus on acting and podcasting. Her experience hosting multiple weekly podcast episodes echoes our own journey – navigating when to speak candidly versus holding back, and finding purpose in connecting with listeners despite occasional backlash.Whether you're a longtime fan from her One Tree Hill days, discovered her through country radio hits like "I Got the Boy," or are new to her story, Jana's resilience and multifaceted career offer inspiration for anyone navigating creative industries while staying true to themselves. Listen now to this conversation that feels less like an interview and more like friends catching up over coffee – or perhaps a bottle of wine, as Jana would prefer. The Try That in a Small Town Podcast is powered by e|spaces!
