Ammoron took over as King of the Lamanites after his brother Amalikiah was killed. Moroni wanted to save his own people (many women, children, and men) who had been captured in war by the Lamanites. The Nephites only captured men, letting the innocent women and children go free. When Moroni requested an exchange of prisoners but he requested an entire family for one of the Lamanite prisoners. Ammoron would not exchange and Moroni knew Ammoron was well aware of his deceit. Moroni came up with a plan. They had a lamanite bring wine to the guards and when the guards were drunk they freed the Nephite prisoners. Not one life was lost. Moroni was inspired by God.

Our Mothers Knew It with Maria EckersleyA Creative Study of Come, Follow MeBook of Mormon [ALMA 43-52] Insights“Stand Fast in the Faith of Christ”August 12 – August 18 2024WEEK 33: SUMMARY=================Lesson Summary:Mormon was a warrior and a general. He knew the pains of war and the power of studying the people who manage to stay valiant in it. This week, we'll study the efforts of men like Captain Moroni and Helaman as they push back against the violent strategies of men like Zerahemnah, Amalickiah, and Ammoron. Studying their strategies and the Lord's patterns of deliverance will help equip us for the battles of our day.Questions to Consider:Alma 44:17 | When is anger justified? How does Moroni channel it constructively? Are there stories in the Savior's life that help you understand how to control this emotion rather than be controlled by it?Alma 49:6-9 | Why do you think the Lord works in “curious” ways to conquer physical and spiritual enemies? Does this story teach you anything impactful about the Restoration?Alma 47:7-18 | What important differences do you see between the story of Nehemiah rebuilding the wall and Lehonti coming down from his stronghold? How can we apply Nehemiah's tactics to our day?CHAPTERS=========00:00:13 INSIGHTS INTRODUCTION00:01:56 INSIGHTS CHAPTER SUMMARY00:09:47 SPARK 1: INVISIBLE ARMOR OF LIGHT00:16:38 SPARK 2: PLANTED PROMISES00:25:31 SPARK 3: POWER BY DEGREES00:37:19 QUESTIONS00:43:01 WRAP UPLINKS=====WEB: https://www.gather.meckmom.comINSTAGRAM: Instagram @meckmomlifePODCAST: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST DISCLAIMER=================================This podcast represents my own thoughts and opinions.
