Nikos Georgopoulos is an award winning designer based in London. He currently serves as an Associate Lecturer, London College of Communication, and is the Head of Graphic Design at Pollard Thomas Edwards. As of late he has been globe trotting giving talks on his Xenia Project at the International Conference on Typeography, the international conference on Tourism, as well as the Big Design Conference here in Dallas, Texas. On this week’s episode, Nikos and I dive deep into the narrative designers need to create for their projects—how the past might be the best tool to influence the future. And we also scratch our heads on… Do we take ourselves too seriously as designers? Have we sucked all of the “fun” out of the design process? My favorite quote from Nikos on this episode, “I kind of like when things are a bit wrong, and a bit quirky, or don’t make sense.” Follow Nikos on Instagram: @nikosgeorgoCheck out the Xenia project: https://timetravelbranding.com/-Feel free to stalk the Experience Design podcast on Instagram at @xdpodcast-As always thank you for listening, and if you enjoy what you're hearing, please share with your friends and co-workers :)-AND If you are feeling EXTRA inspired, I would love for you to check out my Patreon page here: https://patreon.com/xdpodcast#staycuriousSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/xdpodcast)

Big Design in Dallas, TX is a design conference that happens once a year and has been going strong for 12 years, founded by Brian Sullivan. I had the honor of giving my talk on the Main Stage this year at the South Side Ballroom at Gilley’s. A stage that the past 9 US Presidents have spoken on, too many bands to name, and not to mention Jared Spool was one of the Keynote speakers on said stage. Talk about feeding my Imposter Syndrome...This talk stemmed from my 10th episode on this very podcast. However, with the extended time frame I was able to dive a little deeper. At any rate, I’ve had a lot of people as to hear the talk so here it is! Apologies for the audio quality. I did as much work in post as I could!I hope you enjoy! Some of it might be a little lost without seeing the slides, so I’ll be posting the slideshow soon on the Experience Design website: https://www.xdpodcast.com/Feel free to stalk me on instagram: @xdpodcasthttps://www.instagram.com/xdpodcast/Or hit me up on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tony-daussat/-As always thank you for listening, and if you enjoy what you're hearing, please share with your friends and co-workers :)-If you are feeling EXTRA inspired, I would love for you to check out my Patreon page here: https://patreon.com/xdpodcast#staycuriousSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/xdpodcast)
