Despite dramatic improvements in the overall health of the population, racial and ethnic disparities in health and in our health care delivery system persist. In the second episode of Mintz's Health Law Diagnosed, Dr. Tom Sequist of Mass General Brigham speaks to Mintz's Brent Henry about what health care providers can do to help break down the barriers that perpetuate our country's health care inequalities.
I truly do feel pretty privileged to release this next episode ⚡️⠀I would describe Brent on a surface level as your average kiwi guy - but beyond that he has achieved amazing things that deserve recognition. He has faced adversity and through those challenges created a life he is happy with.⠀I don't think an achievement like that should go unnoticed because I know way too many people settling for a life they don't enjoy. Brent isn't one of those people, he had a mindset shift and made shit happen.⠀Again, in this episode I wanted to focus on property but Brents personal life journey was too valuable not to discuss. From being in and out of court to building wealth through property and owning his own gym - I would call Brent an example of success through incredible mental strength.⠀I really would encourage everyone to listen to this! I love hearing stories of the everyday person who strives for something more than the average. If you know anyone facing adversity, needing a push or a reason to keep going - send them this episode!
When an Afternoon Ride Turns in to a Rescue Mission This is the story of a rescue made possible by a satellite communicator, an inReach device. We've used the inReach for some time now, but only have experience with it as a convenient method of staying in contact with family and for checking weather in remote locations. When we were putting together this episode, part of the plan was to talk to someone who had to use their inReach for the purpose of rescue. And while searching for someone with a story, we experienced a rescue mission of our own. Jim Martin, show host, and his friend Brent Henry, went for an afternoon adventure ride, on the logging roads and trails on our island. That ride turned out to involve a serious injury and the subsequent rescue mission. About inReach: We talked at length about both the inReach and Spot on a previous episode, Calling From Help from Above. inReach Canada: www.inreachcanada.comDelorme inReach: http://www.inreachdelorme.com/ Spencer James Conway - Circumnavigating South America Spencer was the first solo rider to circumnavigate Africa, totally unsupported. He documented his trip using a video camera and at the time had no idea that it would be made in to a six part series called African Motorcycle Diaries where it first aired on the UK Travel Channel. And now, Spencer is riding around South America, documenting his trip on video, which will once again be made in to a series on the Travel Channel. Jim caught up with him on his trip to see how things were playing out.
