Bullying takes all forms and can happen to children and adults. It happens in schools, neighborhoods, families, the workplace and on the web. We hear on the news how bullying caused someone to commit suicide or change schools or act out in a horrible way against others in retaliation. We may have experienced bullying ourselves or even been the bully. Is bullying on the rise? How do we stop it? If you are being bullied is it possible to move past it? How do you gain awareness that you are being bullied or that you are a bully? My guest is a survivor of youth bullying and has learned the key to moving into his best life post-bullying. His path was not an easy one and now he helps others not only survive bullying but thrive. Alan Eisenberg is the Founder of Bullying Recovery and an author, speaker, certified life, solutions-focused, and health & wellness coach, eLearning, and communications expert. He has been producing video, print, social media, and educational material for over 25 years as both an Instructional Designer and Developer. He is also a survivor of youth bullying and has turned that experience into being an anti-bullying activist and blogger. In 2007, Alan started his blog site about the long-term effects of bullying at http://bullyingrecovery.org. Since its inception, the site has had well over 1.2 million visitors and is used in many schools for bullying teaching. More recently, Alan has written a biography of his experience dealing with the C-PTSD, anxiety, and depression that developed due to the years of bullying he experienced as a youth called “A Ladder In The Dark“. Alan’s latest book, “Crossing The Line” will look at the extreme issues that bullying teens deal with. Alan is the founder and managing director of Bullying Recovery, LLC, whose mission it is to help those who suffer from the long-term effects of bullying (Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder or C-PTSD) to find the help they so desperately need by providing media, materials, and support through links to seek and receive the help needed to recover. He also offers live presentations on the issues of bullying and the effects it has to schools, corporations, and organizations. Alan’s continued focus is on the effects of youth abuse and youth bullying on individuals and developing further programs and solutions to help individuals at an earlier point. Alan continues to communicate daily and weekly through social media outlets and his regular podcast called “Healthy University“. Alan and Bullying Recovery, LLC are also members of the International Bullying Prevention Association. Alan holds a degree in Communication Studies and Sociology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).

"One-way thinking" is often where the problem starts, says our guest Alan Eisenberg.“I'm sick and I'll always be sick” is a type of "one-way thinking."It's an easy mind trap to fall into. You may have heard your doctor give you a “pronouncement” of “You have “X” and you will always have it - so get use to it!” like I did…. This trap as well as others is important to know, as your healing, no matter if you heal a little or a lot, often begins in what you believe about your self and your ability to heal. All too often, it's those difficult feelings, thoughts and emotions that are often right under the surface of our public facade that create a lifetime of hardship that doesn't have to be. It can even make illness worse! If this sounds like you or someone you know, join us as Sharon Sayler, your host for The Autoimmune Hour on Life Interrupted Radio for his episode's special guest Alan Eisenberg from BullyingRecovery.org. In this podcast, Alan shares his own autoimmune story and how memory, trauma and what we think plays into healing. He also explains:• how to be grateful no matter the challenge, • how the ‘child-brain' can keep us sick, • how to overcome ‘chronic fight or flight' and his own personal healing story including how he recovered from long-term bullying as a child and why that childhood trauma led him to start Bullying Recovery, LLC.  Bullying Recovery is a company devoted to helping those who suffer from the long-term effects of bullying like Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD, anxiety and depression. Learn more about Alan http://bullyingrecovery.org/

Oh no, ‘zombie-feelings!'  Those feelings that we bury deep down inside…. Yet, when we bury feelings, they are almost always buried alive...and like a ‘zombie' they will rise to ‘haunt' us at the most inopportune time(s). Often when someone is bullied, the resulting difficult feelings, thoughts and emotions are often right under the surface of our public facade and create a lifetime of hardship that doesn't have to be.  Today's guest on Life Interrupted Radio is Alan Eisenberg from BullyingRecovery.org. He shares with us how his own recovery from bullying led him to start Bullying Recovery, LLC, a company devoted to helping those who suffer from the long-term effects of bullying like Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), anxiety and depression.  Alan will also share with us how to understand our self "warts and all," how the "child-brain" can keep us stuck and how to overcome "chronic fight or flight."
