This week I sit down with Genifer Murray. Genifer was president and founder of one of the first cannabis testing labs in the US, and was a founding member of the Women's CannaBusiness Network - the organization that served as the foundation for Women Grow.Genfier was named by Hemp Connoisseur Magazine as one of the "Top 100 People to Know" in the cannabis industry. She is a leading advocate for legalization and responsible regulation, highlighting the need for product safety and quality assurance, and has become a trusted resource for legislators, industry organizations, and media.

With more than ten years in the cannabis industry, Genifer Murray is a pioneer and influential female leader. As President and Founder at CannLabs, she created one of the first cannabis testing labs in the U.S. She was a founding member of the Women's CannaBusiness Network; this organization was the foundation for Women Grow. Murray lobbied for cannabis regulation, banking, and the 280E tax problem. She also served on the Governor's Task Force in Colorado helping to implement Amendment 64 to end cannabis prohibition. Murray is a leading advocate for legalization and responsible regulation, emphasizing the need for product safety, cannabis testing, and quality assurance. She has become a trusted resource for legislators, industry organizations, and the media. Murray's dedication to quality assurance led her to become the founder and CEO of Carbon Blue Consulting, which provided testing and consulting services for cannabis labs. In 2018, Murray was hired by Drug Plastics, an established pharmaceutical/nutraceutical packaging business, to provide insight, expertise, and guidance surrounding the myriad of multi-state regulations, and help navigate the company's entry into the cannabis sector. Continuing her health and safety mantra, Murray was a “trusted advisor” by providing solutions to packaging challenges and regulatory requirements. Murray's advocacy doesn't stop at cannabis – she is also a major proponent of women's rights. Her work with Women's CannaBusiness Network which evolved into Women Grow, helped move women to the forefront of an industry that is historically male-dominated. Heather Despres, Lab Director for CannLabs, takes us around their world-renowned facility in yet another “Audio Tour” episode. From CannLabs’ start in a mere 500 square feet, they have now grown into state-of-the-art, 3500 square foot laboratory. In vivid scientific detail, Heather explains how each sample is meticulously cataloged on its way through the lab, and takes us through some of the equipment and testing techniques employed by the scientists therein. The work at CannLabs takes a big picture approach - they are testing for things before the state even requires them, and they proactively search for types of analysis that could be beneficial to medical research or cultivation. Lately I've seen dudes pressing their nugs between a hot iron or Tshirt press. What they do is place small dried nugs between parchment paper then press them with heat and what's left is a pressed nug you can eat and for the money shot you get a splattering of resin stuck to the parchment which you harvest with a tool and then DABS AWAY!! No solvents!! I green screen occasionally putting dabs on flowers but always flowers. I'm also a bong hitter and I like little personals is what we call them. But it gives you a tasty green hit every time versus bowls or joint that loose their greenness. I also find the dab hits to be fleeting come on strong but drop of faster. Not to mention they flood your lungs with burning hot smoke. That's why I think water cooled devices work better for me. I'm really not down with the whole torch thing either it's so crackie!! Scotty: Durban poision- pure fruity/skunky great light taste, uplifting clear sativa buzz, was reading that we have ed rosenthal to thank for this one which is cool. Just so you know, we've actually re-branded as "The Bank Cannabis Genetics", and all of our newer releases are under that name. There's even a 420 friendly bed & breakfast down in Manitou Springs (west of Colorado Springs) that is growing pretty much exclusively our strains in their onsite outdoor garden, and posting some really juicy yield and potency numbers. They're re-doing their website right now, but soon you'll be able to look up the "Billy Budz 420" website and see pics of their garden once they have it back up and running.
