According to CNN, Sen. Cory Booker has broken the record for the longest floor speech in Senate history, surpassing the 24-hour, 18-minute mark set by Strom Thurmond in 1957. Thurmond's speech famously opposed the Civil Rights Act, while Booker's protest targets policies under President Donald Trump.
