The longest poem ever written is a 4,000-year-old Sanskrit epic called the “Mahabharata,” which clocks in at roughly 1.8 million words. But the poem's daunting length didn't stop Toronto's Why Not Theatre from adapting it into a large-scale play of the same name. A few months ago, Miriam Fernandes, the co-creator and star of the show, joined Tom Power to tell us exactly what it took to bring this ancient Sanskrit epic to the stage, and why the story still feels urgent and deeply relevant today.
Jeff Blair and Kevin Barker break down the Blue Jays' 8-4 win over the White Sox for their ninth straight win, their first nine-game winning streak since 2015! They take your calls and texts, and get to the offensive outburst late in the game from Joey Loperfido, Nathan Lukes, and Addison Barger. They get into Lukes' role, what Loperfido can be now that he's producing, José Berríos allowing just one run over six innings of work, and discuss John Schneider's candidacy for Manager of the Year. There's a module for that. Module name/project name: Media Folders Brief history How old: created in Apr 2025 by João Mauricio (jmauricio) Versions available: 1.0.3 which supports Drupal 10.3 and 11 Maintainership Actively maintained Security coverage Test coverage Number of open issues: 9 open issues, 2 of which are bugs, although one was just fixed Usage stats: 61 sites Module features and usage The module mimics a file structure by associating media entities with a taxonomy hierarchy It then provides an intuitive, drag-and-drop UI to move items between locations, drag in new items, or even search within a particular “folder”, including a recursive search When you drag in files, it uses “smart” logic to automatically assign files to Media bundles It provides a form display widget, a view display widget, a CKEditor plugin, and it's compatible with other filesystem modules, like S3 File System This kind of interface is a requirement I've seen in RFPs by companies looking for a new CMS, so having this available as a drop-in solution

Welcome to another episode about why it matters that we can make stuff locally. After last week's ep on Yorkshire's centuries-old wool recycling expertise, this time, as promised, Clare's taking you back to Australia, to see another inspiring mill in action. We're in Launceston, Tasmania to visit Australia's oldest continuously operating weaving mill.Waverley Mills has always worked with local wool, and over the years has woven all sorts of fabrics, from tweeds to flannels, but it's their blankets that made them famous. This is a story of tradition (during WW2 they produced blankets for the army), innovation (think, collaborating with Nudie Jeans to make the world's first recycled blanket out of old denim), and continuity. But above all, it's about community - who's worked here for decades and who is apprenticing to learn the trade today; who grows the wool, and who has seen the ups and downs of this place over the years, and has a long view on why it matters. It's a story about ethical manufacturing, the possibilities for re-shoring, fibre sovereignty and being able to manufacture textiles where we live - just, all the important sustainability stuff! The gang is back, minus the man MoThePolitician due to more important obligations. First the guys start with a reunion shot, check ins & updates on how they all have been. Quickly from here, they get back in their groove instantly making jokes on all new music that they are not rocking with. Sam John takes it upon himself to verbally crash out over the New York bias we tend to have in the state when it comes to the elder statesmen. Tri11ian brings up a legit point to the group how a lot of the older artists that have been famous do not offer new ideas to the musical world; just more of what we have come to expect. Before discussing the disappointment that Tha Carter VI was, the boys big up a few newer artists like Partyof2 & Ovrkast for their musical displays. Further along, Brogod brings up his recent viral comment on a Megan Thee Stallion post & how the internet people need to touch grass. Later on, they get to the NBA nickname resurgence & the NBA Finals; which unironically leads to a classic back & forth about the Haliban not being a consistent star....although he has multiple games showing up in this playoff run. Lastly, NEW SEGMENT: You Deadass w/ Vital, where Sam John plays random bad music & we get Vital's live reaction. Jeff Mans did not intend to record the longest solo episode in One Mans Opinion history, but that is exactly what happened this week. He covers a ton of angles, including Aaron Rodgers signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers and JK Dobbins signing with the Denver Broncos. He touches on Nick Chubb joining the Houston Texans as well as some of the holdouts happening around NFL minicamps this week. Jeff then dives into his SiriusXM Dynasty startup draft that started back in April and only recently completed all 45 rounds. He reflects on every pick that he made, heckled some of the other selections made, and gave an honest overview of his team. Mans then took AMA questions from the Fantasy Guru dot com Discord that ranged from favorite late round sleepers, his statistical projection analysis, the use of A.I. in fantasy sports, handcuffs, funny memories of his brother, thoughts on tennis, other sports he wishes to cover, and so much more. This is a JAM-PACKED EPISODE, so get your popcorn ready. Remember to share the show with a friend, hit the like, favorite, heart, thumbs up, subscribe, and comment button for this episode!

In the latest episode of Working People, we go back to the picket line to get a critical update on the longest ongoing strike in the United States. In October 2022, over 100 workers represented by five labor unions—including production, distribution, advertising, and accounts receivable staff—walked off the job on an unfair labor practice strike at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (PPG). The strike began after the newspaper's management, Block Communications, which is owned by the Block family, cut off health insurance for employees on Oct. 1 of that year. After more than 2.5 years on strike, with other unions reaching contracts or taking buyouts and dissolving their units, workers represented by the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh are the last remaining strikers holding the line. We speak with a panel of union officers for the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh about how they've managed to stay on strike so long and about recent legal updates that have given them hope that an acceptable end to the strike may be on the horizon. Panelists include: Ed Blazina, striking transportation writer at the PPG and one of the Vice Presidents of the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh; Erin Hebert, also one of the Vice Presidents of the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh and a striking copy-editor and page designer at PPG; Emily Matthews, photographer on strike and treasurer for the Post-Gazette Unit of the Newspaper Guild of Pittsburgh. We spotlight a tool for spring: the Five-Senses Quiz that helps you discover which of our senses might be neglected. Plus, we explore how authors like Stephen King shape their creative landscapes from personal memories, and how viewing the own past through different literary lenses—Jane Austen, Judy Blume, Tolstoy—can reveal new perspectives on our life experiences.
