Dana is a 1995 graduate of Saint Paul's College where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. He has worked as a counselor, probation/ parole/pretrial officer in both juvenile and adult systems. In 2012, Dana graduated from Central Michigan University where he earned his Master'sDegree in Professional Counseling. Dana is a licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Sex Offender Treatment Provider. He is the owner of Better Day Better You Counseling and Consulting LLC. Dana has spent the past 17 years with the Department of Juvenile Justice in Virginia where he provides individual, group and family therapy services. Almost 21 million Americans have at least one addiction, yet only 10% of them receive treatment. Drugs, plastic surgery, alcohol, video games, gambling, shopping, food, sex, the internet, risky behaviors…can all be addictions. In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, host Dana Davenport is focusing on addiction to bring attention to how this pandemic and other world changes have impacted mental health overall and the rise of addictions.
