But what if your power lies in realizing that you are not your thoughts? In this conversation, we explore what it means to detach from the stories our minds create, why resisting thoughts often gives them more power, and how acceptance can become a pathway out of the darkness. Today's guest is Ana Maria Jinga, a business and lifestyle identity coach and the founder of Becoming Abundant, a faith-rooted personal growth movement dedicated to helping women reclaim freedom in their minds and hearts. Drawing from her background in psychology, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), holistic wellness, and faith-based mindset work, Ana helps people break free from limiting patterns and reconnect with their God-given identity and purpose. This episode is a reminder that our thoughts do not define us, that we are never meant to walk life's challenges alone, and that even in our darkest moments, there is a path back to hope, freedom, and wholeness. Send us Fan MailTrue healing happens when we open ourselves to the beauty around us—the beauty in the silence, in the trees, in the animals, in poetry, and through the beauty of learning to be present with ourselves again. In this conversation, you'll learn tools for addiction recovery and for a creativity boost. You'll also hear how profoundly natural beauty can be to restore the human spirit. My guest, Aaron Poochigian, is a poet, classics scholar, translator, and author whose life and work beautifully bridge literature, philosophy, and the healing power of nature.Aaron has translated some of the world's most timeless voices, including Sappho and Marcus Aurelius, and his writing has appeared in publications such as *The Financial Times*, *The New York Review of Books*, and *Poetry Magazine*.But beyond his academic and literary accomplishments, Aaron's personal journey is one of transformation.A former cocaine addict, Aaron found himself, like many during the pandemic, craving peace, inspiration, and reconnection after a season of isolation. And unexpectedly, he found it in Central Park. What began as a simple contemplation of this iconic urban sanctuary became a way to reconnect with life itself. This experience inspired his beautiful new book, *Four Walks in Central Park*, a unique guidebook written entirely in verse. This episode is a reminder that creativity is sparked by activating our senses during idle time.CONNECT TO AARON: His new book: Four Walks in Central Park: A Poetic Guide to the Park. Send us Fan MailThere comes a moment in many people's healing journey when they realize that wellness is not only about fixing symptoms… but about remembering who we truly are beneath the noise, the conditioning, and the disconnection from ourselves and from nature. In this conversation, we explore what it means to “rewild” ourselves from the inside out, how disconnection from nature mirrors disconnection from self, and why healing may be less about becoming someone new… and more about returning home to who we've always been.Today's guest, Holly Copeland, has devoted her life to guiding people back to that remembrance. She is the creator of the Inner Rewilding process — a beautiful integration of science, spirituality, somatic healing, and deep connection with the natural world. A former ecologist turned healing practitioner, she now helps spiritual seekers, visionaries, and earth-conscious leaders reconnect with what she calls the “wild intelligence” within.Rooted in modern non-dual awareness and the wisdom of the body, Holly's work weaves together frequency, ceremony, meditation, breathwork, subtle energy healing, and presence to create profound spaces for healing and transformation.Holly also shares insights from her newly released book, Inner Rewilding: A Scientist's Journey into Being. This episode is an invitation to slow down, listen deeply, and remember the wisdom already living within you.CONNECT WITH HOLLY: Website: https://www.hollycopeland.coInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/rewildingholly/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/hollyerincopeland/Book: Inner Rewilding: A Scientist's Journey into Being.Download my FREE eBook: A Weekend of Feeling GreatSchedule a FREE Discovery call Sign up for my free weekly newsletter: HEREBuy my book Living Your Best Life in CollegeTake the 2-minute Wellness QuizIf you enjoyed this episode, please FOLLOW, RATE, REVIEW & SHARE!! In this episode of Noob School, I sit down with Jay Jackson—a former Major League pitcher who spent nearly two decades grinding it out across the MLB, minor leagues, and international baseball circuits. Jay's story isn't just about baseball—it's about resilience. From getting drafted later than expected to navigating the ups and downs of a global career that took him from the U.S. to Japan, Mexico, and beyond, he learned how to stay grounded, positive, and focused when most people would've quit. Over a 17+ year professional career, he played for multiple MLB organizations and built a reputation not just for performance—but for mindset. We talk about what it really takes to last that long in a high-pressure environment—and why success has less to do with talent and more to do with discipline, intentionality, and the people you surround yourself with. Jay also shares the philosophy behind his book, 9 Innings to Living Your Best Life—a framework for living with purpose, maintaining a positive mindset, and leading both on and off the field. The book breaks life into “innings,” each focused on habits like gratitude, accountability, and mental toughness. We get into: Why adversity is your biggest advantage (if you let it be) The power of starting your day with intention How elite performers stay mentally locked in Why “being where your feet are” might be the most important skill you can build The role of mentorship in long-term success Jay is now transitioning into his next chapter—focusing on coaching, mentorship, and helping the next generation develop both as athletes and as people. If you're trying to build something, lead a team, or just get better every day, this conversation will hit home.

Are you actually living your best life if you spend every Monday morning feeling bloated, sluggish, and miserable? Today, I'm recording from the car to talk about the "highlight reel" we all see on Instagram and why the weekend excess we call "fun" is often just a shortcut to misery. I'm breaking down how to stop the default loops that keep you stuck in the Friday-to-Monday cycle and how to use a simple "pattern interrupt" to start making decisions you actually feel good about tomorrow.Topics Covered:The "Best Life" Lie: Why your Instagram highlight reel doesn't match your Monday morning reality. The Default Loop: Why you and your partner keep hyping each other up for the same unhelpful habits every Friday.Working Backwards: How to start your decision-making at the hangover, not the first drink. The Power of the Pause: Why inserting a 5-second gap between an impulse and an action changes everything.Pattern Interrupts: Using a simple question to stop the "autopilot" eating and drinking.Decision Making vs. Force: Why we aren't trying to "stop" ourselves, but rather improve our ability to choose. If you found value in this episode, please consider rating and reviewing the show. It helps us get the message out to more people who are tired of the yo-yo dieting cycle!Send me your question or feedback

I tore my ACL 5 years ago, and I was told surgery was the only way I could be active again.Well, today's guest is here to challenge that belief. In this conversation, we explore how the body can regenerate when given the right support and what's actually possible when we stop accepting limitations.Dr. Fawad Mian is a board-certified neurologist specializing in regenerative medicine and non-surgical pain relief. He helps active adults restore movement, eliminate chronic pain, and reclaim their lives—without relying on prescriptions or going under the knife. But what makes his work truly powerful… is that it's personal. After being told that surgery was his only path forward, Dr. Mian chose a different route—using regenerative therapies like PRP, stem cells, and movement protocols to heal his own body. That experience didn't just transform his health—it completely reshaped the way he practices medicine today. So if you—or someone you love—feel like your body is holding you back… this episode is for you. You might be closer to your best life than you think. In this episode, Laurie shares two powerful moments from a recent retreat with a cohort of high-achieving midlife women—moments that reveal two of the biggest mindset barriers keeping women from fully stepping into their next chapter. The first came from a woman who realized she was already 75% of the way to living her best life—a reminder that many women don't need to burn everything down to create change. Often, it's about small shifts, clearer alignment, and finally prioritizing what matters most. The second moment came from a question many women quietly carry: How can I go after my best life when so many people have it worse than I do?In this conversation, Laurie unpacks both of these ideas and challenges the conditioning that tells women to stay small, feel guilty for wanting more, or wait until “someday” to pursue the life they truly want. You'll hear why midlife isn't a crisis—it's a crossroads—and why living your best life doesn't require a dramatic reinvention. Sometimes it just requires clarity, courage, and the willingness to make intentional shifts toward what matters most.If you've ever wondered whether it's too late to pursue more happiness, fulfillment, or alignment in your life, this episode will remind you that the second half of your life might just be the best one yet.LINKS + MENTIONS:Upcoming Best Life Retreat

"Pay attention to what your body is telling you and treat yourself with kindness." - Dr. Robin Pfaff The end of the year can be a lot and by the time January arrives, we're already worn out. There were big demands on your time and energy to meet holiday expectations, the darker days don't help and, once we reach the new year, there's pressure to reset, improve, and push forward as if our bodies didn't come with limits. When you're living with fibromyalgia, the "new year, new me" pressure often leads to flares, overwhelm, and the feeling of starting the year already behind. For fibro bodies, pushing harder usually isn't the answer. When your nervous system is already sensitive, what it needs most is safety, not force. Slowing down, listening more closely to your body, and treating yourself with kindness instead of criticism can shift how pain, energy, and even emotions show up day to day. Sometimes the most meaningful changes don't come from doing more, but from softening your expectations and meeting yourself where you are. Today, Tami is joined by Dr. Robin Pfaff, a Certified Fibromyalgia Coach®, national board-certified health and wellness coach, and author of Living Your Best Life with Fibromyalgia. Robin has lived with fibromyalgia for nearly 30 years and brings both professional expertise and lived experience to this conversation. In this conversation, Tami and Robin talk about why traditional New Year's resolutions often backfire for people with fibromyalgia, how mindful self-compassion helps calm the nervous system, the three core elements of mindful self-compassion, why January is especially hard for so many people and why that context matters for fibro bodies, treating yourself with the same kindness you would offer a close friend, the difference between traditional goal setting and a fibro-friendly approach, using micro-practices and tiny steps instead of big resolutions, reframing self care as experimentation, simple and practical tools and why small, consistent practices are often more effective than big changes, giving yourself permission to slow down and do less, rethinking routines and noticing when you're over scheduling why fibromyalgia coaching can make a big difference, creating an internal sense of safety that supports healing, finding micro-joys and small rituals that offer comfort and meaning, stories from Robin's clients and how they found renewed hope, and more. Note: This episode is not meant to be medical advice. Every person and every situation is unique. The information you learn in this episode should be shared and discussed with your own healthcare providers. To learn more about the resources mentioned in this episode, visit the show notes. This week's episode is all about community, the real kind that keeps small towns alive and women connected. We talk about why shopping local matters, how supporting the “little guys” keeps everyone afloat, and the simple joy of knowing your barista's name. From small-town chambers of commerce to light-up parades and women's giving circles, we dive into what makes rural life so special, and how to bring that Gilmore Girls vibe to your own backyard.Of course, no Farm Girls episode is complete without a few tangents (and laughs). We've got Tupperware party nostalgia, parts-assembly side hustles, and even a story about a “bike bus” that'll warm your heart. Then it's a wild turn into ghost children, cube-shaped wombat poop, and some billionaire mindset inspo you didn't see coming. And as always, here's your friendly reminder to grab your tickets for our For Sh*ts and Giggles event because connection, laughter, and a little dancing every 22 days is the best therapy there is.Connect with Annaliese & Courtney:Follow Annaliese on Instagram @modfarmchickFollow Courtney on Instagram @greenpasturescattleFollow Okayest Farm Girls on Instagram @okayestfarmgirlsMake sure to hit subscribe/follow so you never miss an episode!Resources & Links:Episode 29: Farm Girls Talk Ranch + Root Episode 35: Farm Girls Talk About Winter BluesThe Gift of Fear: Survival Signs That Protect Us From Violence by Gavin de BeckerThe Psychology of Money by Morgan HouselManifest: 7 Steps to Living Your Best Life by Roxie NafousiPaypal Tip JarA Farm Chick's ClosetCheck out our MERCH!Have a farm girl question?
