There are all types of wheels for different applications from different processes at different price points. Casting, flow formed and forged; aluminum, steel, and composites; three-piece and monoblock. It can all seem overwhelming, especially since wheels have so much power to make or break everything about the driving experience. Joining the guys to demystify the confusion is Dave Schardt, President of Forgeline Wheels. “We say it all the time,” notes Kevin. “The right wheels and the right stance can take just any ride and take it up a couple of notches.” Learn more about your ad choices. On this episode of V8 Radio, Mike Clarke and Kevin Oeste dive into a behind-the-scenes scenario regarding an unusual error faced by the V8 Speed and Resto Shop Crew on a project that's nearly complete, but not quite yet. The car is the sweet 1969 Camaro heavily modified with a Detroit Speed suspension system, Baer Brakes, Forgeline Wheels, Vintage Air, C and R Radiator, Currie rear axle, Hydratech brake booster, sticky Toyo tires, and more. The big recent upgrade comes in the form of a 700+ horsepower GM LT-4 supercharged V8, and so far, it's been a heck of a ride. However, the calibration in the ECM is doing a few funky things during the accelerating upshifting process. We're working with GM on a solution, but sometimes you have to work around quirks when you build custom cars. This, automotive trivia questions, a nod to NASA Flight Director Gene Kranz, and news on an upcoming V8TV production at the Performance Racing Industry show in Indianapolis! Whew, that's a big episode of V8 Radio!

Our first guest is Steve Schardt from Forgeline Wheels (@ForgelineWheels). Car season is in full swing, which is always good for business. Steve and Dan chat about SEMA, which is rapidly approaching, as well as some of the services offered by Forgeline.
Carbon fiber is making its way through practically every industry, including car parts manufacturing. Steve Schardt gives us a glimpse into Forgeline's (@ForgelineWheels) latest project - carbon fiber outer wheels. Listen in for more on this fascinating creation!
Our next guest is Randy "Crusher" Lewis, co-creator of the Nut Job detailing tool. Randy started his automotive-oriented career as a fabricator for several victorious drag racing cars. Today, he brings a much needed solution to people like Dan who find it impossible to adequately clean lug nuts. Tune in for details.
Randy Lewis tells us about his previous experience in drag racing, and how he got his nickname "The Crusher." We're also treated into a little business insight; if you can make someone laugh, you'll get them to trust you.
We heard about Ryan's vacation in the first segment, so now it's Dan's turn! Take a listen to find out about the Goodguys auto show, fancy watches, and doing a burnout while pulling a trailer.
