40 years ago this week our nation was under assault by forces of evil. These forces were conspiring to control artists and take away Americans' constitutionally-guaranteed rights to freedom of expression. In the halls of the United States Senate, three righteous warriors - Frank Zappa, Dee Snider and John Denver - stood up for artists and free speech by directly confronting the evil in power. The evil in power were the so-called "Washington Wives" - spouses to powerful Senators that were weighing a bipartisan violation of the first amendment to the constitution. The head of this clan otherwise known as the PMRC, or the Parents Music Resource Center, was the dreaded Tipper Gore. In the name of "protecting children" Tipper and her friends aimed for censorship. In the process, they gave us a weird but fascinating playlist they dubbed "The Filthy Fifteen" - fifteen songs they deemed to be obscene. This playlist is worth another look, and ATTT has decided to enlist our friends the ATTT All-Stars to give it our patented Worst To First treatment. Shannon Hurley, Gabe Scalone, Joe Lavelle, Matt Dinan and David Daskal were on hand to rank these songs and wax poetic about what a fucked up time the Reagan years were. Picks 15-8 are featured here in Part 1.If you haven't watched them, do yourself a favor and check out Frank, Dee and John's testimony from 1985:Frank - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgAF8Vu8G0w&t=126sDee - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S0Vyr1TylTE John - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MH0hYabzudkOur All-Stars are always up to stuff. En '99, une bande d'énervés menée par un certain Fred Durst, explose avec un album qui va redéfinir la fusion entre rap et métal. Son nom ? Significant Other. Just Like This", "Nookie", "Break Stuff", "Re-Arranged", "I'm Broke", "Nobody Like You" (feat. John BushHe's got one of the greatest voices in metal as evidenced by his work with Armored Saint, Anthrax and, more recently, Category 7. Powerhouse vocalist John Bush joins us to revisit the making of Armored Saint's 1985 album, “Delirious Nomad.” He also updates us on Armored Saint's forthcoming new album and the status of the Saint documentary. Plus, we learn about upcoming solo shows celebrating his time with Anthrax; ask him to name his favorite UFO tracks (hello, Michael Schenker… hint, hint); and fully support his invitation to Roger Daltrey to reprise his vocals on “Taking the Music Back.” Bush always delivers!Created and Produced by Jared Tuten

The addition of Rob Caggiano (Anthrax, Volbeat) in 1998 began a creative writing relationship between him and singer Chris Lino and elevated the bands sound and performance. 1999 saw the band opening for nationally recognized acts along the East Coast, including Type O Negative, Life of Agony, Clutch and Static‑X, helping them catch the attention of renowned NYC radio station 92.3 K‑ROCK. Upon the release of their album they toured with Disturbed, Mudvanye, Kittie, and also Headlined a club tour in Europe. The band disbanded in 2001, with Caggiano leaving to join Anthrax and the other members dispersing into various projects. Chris Lino connected with Mike Orlando and finally in 2022, Orlando reached out to Chris and suggested that he consider re-recording and re-releasing some of Boiler Room's previously released songs. The result is Rectify which includes the brand-new stand out tracks "Haunted" and "Rectify".Order the CD: https://www.dekoentertainment.com/product-page/boiler-room-rectify-cdWebsite: https://www.dekoentertainment.com/inthesquare/boiler-roomFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/boilerroomband/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/boilerroom_band/Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@boilerroom_nyc Thanks for tuning in, please be sure to click that subscribe button and give this a thumbs up!!Email: thevibesbroadcast@gmail.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/listen_to_the_vibes_/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/thevibesbroadcastnetworkLinktree: https://linktr.ee/the_vibes_broadcastTikTok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMeuTVRv2/Twitter: https://twitter.com/TheVibesBrdcstTruth: https://truthsocial.com/@KoyoteFor all our social media and other links, go to: Linktree: https://linktr.ee/the_vibes_broadcastPlease subscribe, like, and share!

What's up, dudes? In memory of Ozzy, Duane Bailey from Tinsel Tunes and Matt Wheeler from Resurrection Metal Radio join me to talk 1988 Headbangers Christmas! Yes, it's Christmas Eve on MTV's Headbangers Ball, and Ozzy Osbourne and Zakk Wylde are hosting the festivities. We're introduced to a slew of ‘80s metal bands, but kicking off the festivities is Ozzy himself with “Crazy Babies!” Poison, Judas Priest, Winger, Bon Jovi, Whitesnake, and Guns N' Roses follow. Ozzy and Zakk have a great time introducing the videos. In fact, they even dress up in Santa hats. Ozzy even wears an odd mask and a pirate hook. Next up are videos from KISS, Hurricane, Alice Cooper, RATT, Aerosmith, and Cinderella. Ozzy suddenly appears in a picturesque Christmas fireside, but now inexplicably has on caveman feet and a club. Subsequently, videos from Lita Ford, Anthrax, Bad News (with the only Christmas song), Def Leppard, and Iron Maiden air. Finally, Hear N' Aid sang “Stars” and Headbangers Christmas concluded! Go get ‘em, boys!AC/DC singing “That's The Way I Wanna Rock 'N' Roll?” Yep. Yngwie Malmsteen performing “You Don't Remember, I'll Never Forget?” Uh huh. Sam Kinison? Sam Kinison?!?! Rhodesia, now Zimbabwe since 1980, is a landlocked country in Southeast Africa. From 1978-1980, Rhodesia experienced one of the largest anthrax epidemics in recorded history. This led to the deaths of hundreds and caused significant economic devastation. The epidemic happened during the Rhodesian Bush War. To this day, the origins of this devastating outbreak remain highly controversial- was it the result of an endemic outbreak or a case of biological warfare? Today I'm going to look at the history of the epidemic and the possible causes with Matthew Turner, MD. Dr Turner is with the Department of Emergency Medicine at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey Pennsylvania. He is also the author of an article on the topic published in the Cureus Journal of Medical Science. The Rhodesian Anthrax Epidemic: A Case of Biological Warfare?

Alan Sim, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's chief data officer, announced his departure from the agency after nearly five years in the position, per a post he wrote on social media Monday. Sim took on the role of chief data officer in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic and over the years has been a leader on initiatives such as the agency's generative AI projects. Reflecting on his time, Sim pointed to several “firsts” the agency achieved, including launching its enterprise data catalog and using data and cloud technologies to improve emergency response. “It is with mixed emotions that I announce my departure from the CDC,” Sim wrote in a post to LinkedIn. His time as CDC's data leader was his second run at the agency. Sim, who has a PhD in epidemiology, had also been a graduate fellow and then a health informatics scientist at CDC early on in his career in the late 90s to the early 2000s. In his post, Sim said that period was “defined by concerns like bioterrorism, Anthrax, and SARS.” “Returning in 2020 as CDC's Chief Data Officer during the worst pandemic in our nation's history was both a significant challenge and a profound opportunity,” Sim said. Sim didn't include details about his next steps but said he would be sharing more soon. It is unclear who the acting CDO is in his absence. The General Services Administration struck a deal with Oracle as part of its OneGov strategy to provide a variety of cheaper services to federal agencies, including a 75% discount for license-based Oracle Technology Programs. Under OneGov, GSA wants to work directly with original equipment manufacturers like Oracle to negotiate better governmentwide terms for commercial technology. On top of the 75% discount for licensed technology such as database, integration, security, and analytics services, Oracle will also offer “substantial base discounts” for its Oracle Cloud Infrastructure services, GSA announced Monday. Oracle is now the latest of several technology vendors, including Adobe, Google, Salesforce and others, to negotiate a OneGov deal with GSA. This deal, however, comes with some additional terms beyond discounts that stand to benefit federal agencies as they modernize their IT infrastructures. In particular, Oracle won't charge data egress fees when agencies move their “existing workloads from Oracle Government Clouds to another cloud service provider's FedRAMP Moderate, High or DOD IL 4, 5 Cloud,” GSA said in its release. The company will also promote pricing parity with other competing commercial cloud providers, “with no additional security or government uplifts ever charged in the Oracle cloud.” The Daily Scoop Podcast is available every Monday-Friday afternoon.
