From Pantera to Cattle Decapitation, and from Misery Index to Pig Destroyer - We have an episode for the books to open up 2021. We welcome John Jarvis, Adam Jarvis, Derek Engemann, and Mark Kloeppel from the band, Scour – minus lead vocalist Phil Anselmo. If you know your history, all of those aforementioned musicians have cemented their place in the extreme heavy metal music realm. Having been playing in different bands before Scour existed, we had the chance to speak with this talented and unique music roster on how their current group became to be. Sure, you can label the term “Supergroup” in their direction, but it's not what they are about. As my conversation unfolded with them, the commonality here was that these were friends coming together to do what they love doing most – and that is playing music with a passion unmatched. The history between the 5 go back a long way and we discuss the experiences each of them have taken in during that timeline (Oh yes, we got tour stories). Now with the newest release of their 3rd EP titled “Black”, the Scour Boys also talk about the collaborations they brought in with other well-established artists like Erik Rutan, Pat O' Brien, and Jason Momoa – All of which have guest starred in the tracks within this relentless brutality of a record. This is how you close out a year full of mayhem, which at the same time opens up so much potential and positivity into the next. Let Scour be your escort into 2021 as they also talk about bigger and better goals for each of the members going forward. Pick up their newest EP, “Black” out now on Housecore and Nuclear Blast Records.
King Parrot today unleash their first new music since 2017, with "Banished, Flawed Then Docile" being lifted from the upcoming four-track E.P Holed Up In The Lair.It is a typical dose of frenetic madness from King Parrot and one is sure to creep into the live setlist when touring life kicks back into gear."All of the tracks on the E.P were written a few years ago," revealed frontman Matt Young. "We had a bit of time off between a US tour and a Europe tour. We had a couple of weeks to kill and we finished the tour and went and stayed in Florida and had a little holiday for a week and then we went down to Louisiana and visited Phillip and Kate who run Housecore and asked them if we could go in do some recording and make the most of our time while we were there and do stuff in the studio. We hung out with them and set out different ideas to try and write and record four tracks in the time that we had, just as a project to write and record them as good as we could and play it mostly live to give it that live kind of feel. I think that's what the tracks have. "Banished, Flawed Then Docile was probably the most gruesome thing I could think of at the time (laughs). The whole thing was a good exercise in trying to write and record as quickly as possible and do it as well as we possibly could."In the full interview, Matt talks about the diversity of each track musically, small musical nuances that often get lost in translation, experimenting with music, the limited-edition merchandise for the E.P, the joys of fatherhood and the possibility of a future King Parrot love song, the next music video that could surprise long time fans of the band and more.

Arty and Ron explore the eclectic tastes and influences of Phil Anselmo in this very intimate interview with the man himself. Phil is a really nice guy who FUCKING LOVES METAL and he talks all about it. We also delve into his many injuries from thrashing on stage over the years, his addictions as well as racism. This was done last year in the basement of Saint Vitus Bar (so there is all sorts of refrigerator and ice machine noises). Enjoy and subscribe on iTunes, Stitcher or Soundcloud. Thanks for listening.
We were able to get a short interview with Philip H. Anslemo at the beginning of his tour with the illegals. "Choosing Mental Illness as a Virtue" is the name of his new record and Tour and Phil explains to us his physical and mental state at 50 years old as well as his love of horror films, why he does Horrorcore Records and his favorite Long Island band Suffocation. We got a lot out of this interview in the short time we were slotted and Phil admits to being happier and more focused than he has in years and it all comes across in this interview. https://www.thehousecorerecords.com/ https://www.facebook.com/Philipillegals/ http://philanselmo.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We're sponsored by nautilusroasting.com https://raisedfistpropaganda.com/
The Housecore Horror Film Festival took place this weekend in Austin, TX, and Chuck and Godless were on hand to take in as much as they could over the festival's four days. They run down their experiences at the fest, including Gwar's new lineup, the Rigor Mortis documentary, and just hanging around with the artists and movie makers. They also sat down to talk with several guests, including: Rafał "Rasta" Piotrowski, lead vocalist for Decapitated, fresh from the side of the road outside of New Orleans where their tour van crashed once again. Gwar's new co-vocalist Vulvatron transported from the future to tell us about her terrible experience with the men in the band, and how her lady bits keep them in line. Michel "Away" Langevin, drummer for the legendary Voivod, gets an earful from uber-fan Godless. Away talks about the band's parting with Blacky, the loss of Piggy and keeping their 30-year history into perspective. Songs:Decapitated - "Veins"Gwar - "The Road Behind"Voivod - "Psychic Vacuum"
