Concern regarding schools in the media usually has nothing or little to do with academics but something to do with it being a bad environment for students and teachers. There are two thoughts that should spring from that observation. The first is why are people so concerned about “socialization” issues when it comes to the home educated? Do they know that they are saying every child should be exposed to a self-esteem destroying, violent social environment? Do children really need to be subject to abuse, bullying and jungle warfare to develop normally? The second observation is that curricular concerns are rarely mentioned outside of the push to normalize deviant beliefs and behaviours. Perplexingly, no one has connected the deviance to the violence now found in many schools. One of the main reasons parents choose to home educate or unschool is their concern about their children's exposure to bad social issues at school. However, most do not tie the bad social behaviours to the bad ideologies being advanced to normalize what God has not sanctioned. In fact, we are now judging the authenticity of the Bible against our desire to do as we wish. Should any part of the Bible condemn our deviant behaviour, it is deemed as hate speech, soon to be banned from the public square. God help us as we slide down that dark path to perdition. Also understand that a standardized program does not meet the individual needs of each child, nor does it take gifting into consideration. As a consequence, school is more likely to homogenize students to the lowest common denominator of mediocrity. Unschoolers encourage children to be the best they can be in keeping with the innate gifts and talents bestowed upon them by God. The important question then becomes: how dedicated are we to ensuring children receive a good education based on the supremacy of God rather than the claimed authority of man? We need to understand unschooling for what it is: Taking control of the education of our children, moving them away from a Godless system – including Christianized versions of a secular system, and restoring them to the family to which they were born. Let us be “homing” our children as directed by our Creator and let us avoid the “unhoming” tendencies of schools. Unschooling or “homing” is what we do here at Education Unlimited. These provisions can also lead to the car searching police databases against your face and calling the police on you. It can self drive you in some models to the police station locked in your car! This is happening (not coincidentally) as governments move to ban private car ownership. This is also happening as poverty strikes millions more people, employment crashes due to AI and posters are hung throughout US cities saying things like "Stop Hiring Humans." Any remaining independence humans have will be thrown to the wayside as UBI, food rations and digital IDs are introduced. AI powered banks are already being conditionally approved by the OCC complete with stable-coin digital currencies. They are rolling out 15 Minute Cities across the board and they plan to force you into the gulag of "convenience." Most will bow to this new system. The US is bringing in 5 year social media history mandates for entry. FISA 702 was just extended by President Trump which allows mass warrantless surveillance. Cameras have been put on the interstate system complete with AI facial recognition readers that determine whether people are "suspicious." Internet IDs have been launched in the United States including in Missouri. A major Trojan Horse. Bank surveillance has been initiated in the US by executive order, the UK by mandate and in places like Canada, banks are rolling out social credit scores. 63 central banks enabled Basel 3 bail-ins which can liquidate your money. UK government nudge units are being used to force people onto carbon credit scores. AI is being developed in a way (admittedly by people like Elon Musk) that will destroy humanity and end employment. Not to worry! The WEF, Elon Musk, Bill Gates and Sam Altman all have the same solution! UBI! Universal Basic Income. As the food is rationed due to shortages and the world falls into war, the emergency orders are quickly coming in to develop the new global technocracy. In the 1920s and '30s, groups of militant unbelievers formed across Canada to push back against the dominance of religion. Towards a Godless Dominion: Unbelief in Interwar Canada by Dr. Elliot B. Hanowski (McGill-Queen's University Press, 2023), explores both anti-religious activism and the organized opposition unbelievers faced from Christian Canada during the interwar period. Despite Christianity's prominence, anti-religious ideas were propagated by lectures in theatres, through newspapers, and out on the streets. Secularist groups in Montreal, Toronto, Winnipeg, and Vancouver actively tried to win people away from religious belief. Looking at interwar controversies around religion, Hanowski shows how unbelievers were able to use these conflicts to get their skeptical message across to the public. We all have probably had the experience of suddenly seeing another side of friend's character that we did not know existed.   We then wonder what kind of person they really are!  Hopefully these are good things we see, but sadly, that is not always the case.Now consider the experience of the disciples of Jesus, our heading is the question they asked themselves at a time when they had been “filled with great fear” and as a result had said, “Who then is this, that even wind and see obey him?” [Mark 4 v.41] We have already read in Mark of Jesus doing many marvellous healings; a paralysed man, a leper, a man with a withered hand, &c, so that “his fame spread everywhere” [1 v.28]: yet when he stills the storm and “the wind ceased and there was a great calm” [4 v.39] they then asked each other “Who then is this?” Most of them were fishermen, this miracle occurred in an environment with which they were very familiar.  Surely they had learnt when there was a  risk of weather of this this nature they would not venture out.  Matthew, Mark and Luke all record this dramatic event, it was etched in their memory.  It is described as “a great windstorm” and the “waves were breaking into the boat.”  As Jesus dramatically stills the storm, he asks, “Have you still no faith?” [v.40]  Compare this with what we read today in Exodus 16, there is a challenging parallel!  The nation of Israel had witnessed miracles, the plagues, walking through the sea on dry land and the destruction of the Egyptians armies at the hands of their all-powerful God – the one whose name/reputation was being established by these events.  As they “grumbled against Moses” because of the lack of food [v.2] Moses could have said, “Have you still no faith?” We have commented several times that in this 21st Century we are travelled in a sinful Godless wilderness.  Storms of God's judgements are starting to break out on this world, they are going to get worse, news bulletins are full of the detail of countries with problems and catastrophes.  We all need to really get to know our Lord and Master and develop such a measure of faith that makes us certain Jesus is in control whatever may come on this earth.  Meditate on James 1 v.5-8 

We thought about this for some time. How do we understand the references in today's chapter of Exodus [Exodus 10] to the LORD hardening Pharaoh's heart.   [Exodus 10:1,10,27]   Can God blame man for what God does – if that is the way to understand this? Notice how Moses conveys the message of the LORD (i.e. Yahweh/Jehovah) to Pharaoh, “Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews; how long will you refuse to humble yourself before me?” [Exodus 10:3]Pharaoh refused to recognise the power of the one and only God. In the time of Joseph God's power had been fully recognised as a result of the 7 years of famine and plenty. Then we read in Exodus 1:8 “Now there arose a new king over Egypt that did not know Joseph” and the situation changed. To restore the spirit of knowing and fearing the only real God was surely part of the purpose of God in sending the plagues. God saw to it that a Pharaoh was “raised up” whose attitude and pride would cause this to happen.We can see a modern parallel to this today. When printing was invented, the first book printed in nearly every language was the Bible! We are celebrating 400 years since the King James Version of the Bible was first printed. Four Centuries ago there was a wonderful change in the attitudes of many people; the world became more spiritual; laws were influenced by the principles set out in the laws in the Bible. The R.C. Church tried to resist this but the reformation movement, fed by the reading of the Bible, spread throughout the world. People at last read for themselves what God had really done and said.The effect of this reformation movement came to an end during the 20th Century, now a whole generation has now arisen who largely do not know the Bible. Sadly some read the Bible to get power and influence for themselves and distort what it says and trying to find in it things they want to believe. The stage is set therefore, for God to bring another series of plagues on the earth, to show his power to Godless man, so that once again people will be aware of the true God, but it will require one last dramatic act of God to really cause them to wake up – and that surely will be the return of Christ to rule the earth.
