Is Warner Bros. back in the theme park game? They have proven with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter lands, in Universal Studios parks all around the world, that they are capable of delivering word class themed lands. So what about an entire park full of WB's legacy? When we were planning to visit Abu Dhabi, this park was always on the top of our list. I (Lee) got especially familiar with it when speaking to someone who worked on the project just before opening. He was so proud of what was achieved and he even used the words: "No expenses are being spared." Which is something you don't hear often in the theme park industry. Other than with for example Motiongate Dubai, this entire park was designed under one creative firm and under the watchful eye of one IP holder and it shows! Everything fits seamlessly like a giant jigsaw puzzle. Not only physically, but also thematically and aesthetically everything makes sense. Don't be fooled by the fact that it is an indoor theme park and that it doesn't have any record breaking coasters. The sense of scale is definitely present here and when visiting, you don't even feel like you're walking in a hall. How they achieved that effect? That is something that we love to analyse and discuss in this episode. One thing is certain, Warner Bros. World leaves us incredibly curious of what awaits in the future. Because after a massive announcement for an expansion and receiving some inside information, the future looks incredibly bright! ▻ Check www.triponpodcast.com ▻ Follow us on Instagram ▻ Listen to us on Apple Podcasts ▻ Listen to us on Spotify ▻ Listen to us on Audible
Born to slaves in 1863, John Wesley Gilbert was the first student of the Paine Institute, a graduate of Brown University, and the first black archaeologist. While at Brown, he was awarded a scholarship to study abroad at the American School of Classical studies in Athens, Greece. Here, he helped to shape modern archaeology as we know it today. Working tirelessly, and meticulously on excavations where he helped uncover the ancient city of Eretria, Gilbert also travelled across the country to beautiful ancient sites, and even attended the funeral of Heinrich Schliemann - the man who discovered Troy.In this episode, Tristan is joined by Professor John W.I Lee from UC Santa Barbara to talk about Gilbert's incredible life, and the legacy that he left behind. For more Ancients content, subscribe to our Ancients newsletter here. That’s right, folks, we’re back! COVID couldn’t keep the two of us down forever! In this episode we talk about how we (and our families) have been coping during the pandemic. We talk over each other a lot. It shows in the transcript. Aimée and I (Lee) are so happy to be together again, talking… Read more S3 E1: WE’RE BAAAAAAACK!!!!!!
In episode 10 of the New Normal, Mark Weeks and I (Lee) sit down to discuss the nature of running a business during the days of COVID-19. At the end, the gospel shines clearly as we were both encouraged by the Spirit of God to never waste a single day, you don't know how many "todays" you will get.
It's a bloody good episode this. A bloody good episode. It's episode 131 of Which is the Best podcast but using the conceit that it's the first ever episode because we've long since ran out of ideas. Look, it's really hot here and I (Lee, the one out of WITB that isn't the lass) have just put a tent up that I'll be staying in for the next 3 1/2 weeks so sorry that this is a really poor explanation of the episode. Sorry. It's a show about trampettes by the way, the show is better than this. I'm in a Caffe Nero on Princes Street in Edinburgh, I'll be there for the next half hour or so (Depending when you read this) if you want to come and freak me out. I think I've caught the sun, not in a tan way more in a way that it has made me bad at writing podcast blurbs.
Welcome to Episode 70 of Which is the Best podcast. I'm not even going to the usual blurb explaining what it is, I'm just going to say this. It's a live episode, recorded (Inexplicably) in front of 80+ sixth formers and teachers from local Catholic schools, where the hosts (Comedians Lee Kyle and Sammy Dobson) try to behave decently and fail horrifically. Horifically. Put it this way, I (Lee) usually spend quite a long time editing this. Not this week though, I couldn't bring myself to listen back in case we were worse than I remember. NSFW
We’re not dead!!! I (Lee) am finally back from Haiti, and we’re getting back on the ‘ol podcast ball. I know, it’s been a long time since our last episode. BUT it’s not entirely our fault. We recorded an AMAZING new episode last week buuut, I accidentally deleted it… I’m sorry. But I think this […]
