We dive into our first stay at the new DVC Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort — and for the first time ever, we brought the dogs! From check-in to checkout, we're breaking down what it's really like to travel to Walt Disney World with your furry family members, including how the pups adjusted, what's included in Pluto's Welcome Kit, and why Fort Wilderness might just be the most peaceful spot on property to settle in and stay a while. We also talk through Disney's pet policy in full — which resorts allow dogs, how the booking process works, and what to expect when that $50 nightly fee kicks in. Then we get into the cabins themselves: the layout, the comfort, the thoughtful little touches, and how these redesigned spaces compare to other DVC options around property. Speaking of golf carts, we couldn't resist — and we're glad we didn't. We share how having one will totally change the vibe of your trip, made traveling with the dogs easier, and added a little extra fun to everything from fried chicken pickups to late-night loops through the campground. From there, we head into classic Fort Wilderness territory: scavenger hunts, gem mining at the Bike Barn, and a perfect mix of old-school charm and new family memories. We talk about meals at the cabin, including an easy homemade breakfast and a fried chicken feast from P&J's Southern Takeout that might still be one of the best values on Disney property. And of course, it wouldn't be a Main Street Magic episode without snacks around property. We'll tell you which ones were worth it (looking at you, monkey bread), which surprised us (hello, watermelon pop), and which ones we're still dreaming about (yes, that Lunchbox tart deserves the hype). We also wrap things up with a trip to Toothsome at Universal for a massive Cookie Jar sundae and one of the sweetest finales we've had in a while.Whether you're thinking about booking a cabin, bringing your pup, or just want to hear about monkey bread and golf cart joyrides, this one's packed with Fort Wilderness magic.

This is the end, beautiful friends. We conclude the Summer of Rock with the much-better-than-I-remembered Jungle Cruise, a movie we abruptly pivoted to covering after trying to watch Black Adam and giving up out of boredom. We cover the history of movies based on theme parks, the rocky production of Jungle Cruise, its unfortunate failure at the box office, and then we go through the movie itself, trying to figure out if this is one of The Rock's better late-career performances or if he's being carried entirely by Emily Blunt. The Summer of Rock is our summer 2025 miniseries covering the movie career of Dwayne Johnson through nine movies, presented in chronological order. Starting with his attempt at crossing over from the world of wrestling, The Rock's career got off to a bumpy start before finally taking off in the 2010s. But it wasn't long before the bumps returned, and we'll be telling the story for you all summer long! Next week: We'll have a shorter bonus episode to wrap up the Summer of Rock, and we'll answer a few mailbag questions. Our next proper episode will be September 12, 2025, about FernGully: The Last Rainforest (1992). Joe is going to be going to Universal Orlando Resort but there is a twist... he is going by himself! What are the 'bucket list' things of solo things he can do? See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
With all of the changes happening at Walt Disney World, it is important to remember that we have already lost a lot of our favorite things, but continue to love the theme parks. Nothing that has disappeared has caused us to turn our backs on Disney. Whatever we are about to lose, we will still continue to find things to keep us happy in the Most Magical Place on Earth.
Be our guest as we invite you to pull up a chair and join us for dinner at VIVO Italian Kitchen™ inside Universal CityWalk™ Orlando. Instead of reviewing the restaurant after the fact, we did something different — we hit record right at the table so you could hear our real-time thoughts as the evening unfolded. From the moment the appetizer arrived to the last sip of our mocktails, every reaction, laugh, and side conversation was captured live.We each ordered something different, from handmade pasta entrées crafted with heirloom family recipes to creative zero-proof drinks that gave the night a refreshing twist. Along the way, we share our honest takes on presentation, portion size, service, and overall atmosphere. You'll hear the clink of silverware, the banter over the check, and the little details that make dining at VIVO a uniquely immersive experience. But of course, because it's us, the night also went a little sideways — leading to a surprisingly deep (and funny) conversation about VIVO's bathrooms, which turned out to be some of the most unusual we've ever seen at a theme park restaurant. By the end, we're not just talking food, but also sinks, stalls, and the unwritten etiquette of handwashing. If you've ever wondered what it's really like to dine at VIVO Italian Kitchen™, this episode delivers the flavors, the fun, and even a few unexpected laughs.

Las Vegas has logged six straight months of year-over-year visitor declines, with June alone down 400,000 guests amid economic jitters, inflation, and weaker Canadian travel. Yet in Orlando, Epic Universe's Monsters Unchained just passed a million visits, SeaWorld hit record attendance, and Disney reported another record quarter. Plus, fan conventions nationwide are posting record attendance. As consumers become more savvy, one answer could be that generic “something for everyone” models struggle to cut through, while focused, IP-driven events keep thriving. Is Vegas a canary in the coal mine for U.S. leisure spending—or just a regional wobble? Listen to weekly BONUS episodes on our Patreon.

We're hitting record from some of Walt Disney World's most stunning deluxe resorts while answering a lightning round of listener-style questions all about the podcast, Disney, and beyond! From the first trip that made us truly fall in love with the parks to the spark that turned that passion into nearly 800 episodes, we're pulling back the curtain on the moments that shaped Main Street Magic. We'll share what episode felt like a milestone, our favorite collaborations, and even the bloopers that had us cracking up. We'll debate which Magic Kingdom resort we'd actually live in, which EPCOT pavilion we'd move into for a week, and the bold Disney hot takes we'll defend to the end. Plus, we dive into what recording inside an attraction might look like, the series we're excited to launch next, and where we'd host a dream live show.Along the way, we reflect on what we've learned about each other, which Universal land secretly rivals Disney, the snack that needs to be fired, and what hitting 800 episodes means to us. It's a mix of memories, milestones, and mayhem—recorded in the heart of deluxe Disney magic.

We're kicking off a brand-new series: Resort Wars — where Walt Disney World resorts go head-to-head, and only one can walk away with the crown! First up, it's a Value Resort throwdown between Disney's Pop Century and Disney's Art of Animation.Pop Century opened in 2003 and celebrates the nostalgia of the 1950s through the 1990s with larger-than-life icons and over 2,800 rooms. Meanwhile, Art of Animation debuted in 2012 with immersive theming from beloved Disney and Pixar films, offering standard Little Mermaid rooms and spacious family suites themed to Cars, The Lion King, and Finding Nemo.We pit these two fan favorites against each other across seven battle rounds — including theming & atmosphere, rooms & comfort, dining, transportation, recreation, overall value, and listener feedback. Who takes the win for pool bars and food courts? Which resort is more budget-friendly? And where will your family find the perfect blend of magic and convenience?Plus, we share results from our listener poll and highlight firsthand experiences and opinions from our amazing community to help settle the debate.Whether you're planning your next Disney vacation or just love a good Disney debate, this episode is packed with insight, tips, and a few laughs along the way. Legacy Cedar Fair parks are moving to the Six Flags model this Halloween, requiring a new $10–$20 Haunted Attractions Pass for mazes—and an extra $15 for The Conjuring house. Even Gold Pass holders must pay, sparking backlash from fans who see it as a bait-and-switch. Philip and Scott debate whether this is a necessary step toward higher-quality haunts or a misstep that erodes trust. It appears that Six Flags is moving to the 'separately ticketed' model of Knott's Scary Farm instead of the 'mix-in' model of legacy Cedar Fair parks. And while the company is still bleeding cash, where will the capital come from to bring up the quality of the Halloween events? Listen to weekly BONUS episodes on our Patreon.

Six Flags posted a nearly $100 million loss in Q2—down from a $55 million profit a year ago—on 1.4 million fewer visitors, a smaller base of season passholders, and what it calls “adverse weather.” The company is looking to sell nonessential assets, while also running an aggressive August pass sale to bring in quick cash and rebuild its passholder base. Philip and Scott unpack why front-loading revenue can backfire if you can't keep guests returning to spend in-park, and how Six Flags' own investor day framed season passes as its growth engine. They also discuss CEO Richard Zimmerman's decision to step down by the end of 2025 and what it signals for the post-merger strategy. Plus, why SeaWorld Orlando is riding Epic Universe's wave to higher attendance—and what smaller operators can learn about “rising tide” tourism. Listen to weekly BONUS episodes on our Patreon.
We're diving deep into the Main Street Magic Mailbag for our latest Listener Q&A session! You sent the questions — and we're answering them all with the usual mix of tips, laughs, and behind-the-scenes banter. From our Facebook community, we tackle everything from Disney resorts we've never stayed at (yes, there are still a few!) to which classic attractions we somehow haven't experienced. We chat about the possibility of a Main Street Magic Zero Proof Crawl & Meet-Up, compare Typhoon Lagoon vs. Blizzard Beach now that water park access is included with resort check-in, and reflect on the nostalgic Disney favorites that still hit us in the feels (even if our kids aren't on board). We also get personal — sharing how we met, which international Disney parks are on our bucket list, and brainstorming what a Disney-themed non-alcoholic bar would look like. Spoiler: we're all in.Over on X (Twitter), things get delightfully random — like which Disney character is most likely to have a PR meltdown Coldplay-style, what we'd grab in a $500 LEGO Store shopping spree, and what hobby might take over our lives if Disney disappeared tomorrow (gasp!).Tune in for answers, shoutouts, and a lot of fun — and stay tuned for more ways to send in your questions for future episodes!
