Screens. Sugar. Anything that feels really good. The advice to just "lower the demand" can fall really short because for some kids, more access brings real relief. But for others, more access actually causes more stress and we wind up asking kids to take on a responsibility that is beyond their developmental capacity.  This episode digs into what's actually generating the stress underneath the behavior, and what it looks like when a kid needs to be held steady instead of shifting our expectations. In this episode you will learn:Why high-reward things like screens carry their own built-in stress, and how that changes the question of whether to give more access or lessWhat it looks like when a kid needs the burden of managing something taken off their shoulders entirelyHow to tell if a boundary is actually working: not whether your kid protests, but which direction things are trending over timeIf this is landing for you and you want to map this out for your own kid, come join us in The Club. Our resource library and our members will help you map your child's nervous system, troubleshoot things when they don't seem to be getting any better, and show you how to take care of yourself in the middle of all of it. Resources mentioned in this podcast:Enabling vs. Low-Demand Parenting → RobynGobbel.com/enablingExploring Low Demand Parenting → RobynGobbel.com/lowdemandStress Response System → RobynGobbel.com/stressresponseRead the full transcript at: RobynGobbel.com/morestressImmersion Program for Professionals! The Baffling Behavior Training Institute's Immersion Program for Professionals is NOW accepting applications for our 2027 cohorts. In Part 2 of the Main Street Magic EPCOT World Showcase Cup, the tournament moves into the quarterfinals as our top seeds finally enter the competition and the battle for the Final Four begins. Using the same category-by-category judging system from last episode, every matchup is decided by comparing Food, Drinks, Attractions, Immersion, Shopping, Hangout Factor, Hidden Details, Festival Presence, and Overall Experience. One pavilion advances, one pavilion goes home—there are no ties and no second chances. Will top-seeded France, Mexico, and Japan prove why they earned their rankings, or will one of the opening-round winners pull off a tournament-shaking upset? From iconic restaurants and legendary snacks to immersive architecture, hidden gems, unforgettable attractions, and festival favorites, every debate brings us one step closer to crowning the ultimate World Showcase champion. Along the way, we'll share our reasoning behind every decision, revisit some of EPCOT's most beloved experiences, and probably disagree a time or two as we narrow the field from eight pavilions down to just four. Tara shares how her experiences in global ministry and adoption awakened a deeper passion to help children understand they are purposefully made, personally known, and perfectly loved by Jesus, and how diversity reflects God's grand design. They discuss practical ways educators can honor God's image in every child through respectful interactions, creativity, empathy-building experiences, and cultural exposure, while connecting everyday actions to God's love. Send us Fan MailWe  begin this episode by noting the nature of the Episcopal church and its teachings. It broke away from the Roman Catholic Church, but much of it's organization and teachings are very similar and in some cases identical to those of that Church. They have a clergy-laity distinction which is not found in the NT. We discuss what is found there. Baptism in the Episcopal is done by pouring water on the individual. We again look at baptism as commanded in the New Testament by the Lord. Eric looks at the doctrine of transubstantiation, what it is and why it is erroneous. Arnie notes that they engage in confirmation of children, what this consists of and the two points of error included in it. We look at the differing teaching of the Catholic and Episcopal churches on salvation and note that both are contrary to what the Bible says. We begin a discussion about how liberal the Episcopal priests and church are. We will have to complete this discussion in the next episode. Take about 30-minutes to listen in on our discussion. Have your Bible handy so you can verify what we are saying. There is a transcript of this Buzzsprout episode provided for your convenience.

In this series, Angela Finlay presses Mark on Bold Immersion: getting close enough to clients, users, employees, patients, workflows, and actual places to see what meetings, reports, AI, dashboards, and assumptions often miss.Opening SummaryFormer guest Angela Finlay reverses roles and interviews Mark about Bold Immersion, the practice he names as the strongest predictor of better client outcomes, stronger financial impact, and deeper passion at work. Angela begins with Harvard Business Review's “false alignment” problem: leaders meet, discuss Artificial Intelligence, strategy, and customer needs, then leave seeing different parts of the elephant.Core ValueBold Immersion means entering the real world of the person you serve before you decide what to build, sell, fix, lead, or automate. Mark connects it to customer journey mapping, in-home observation, ride-alongs, product ethnography, contextual inquiry, Voice of the Customer, workflow observation, Human-Centered Design, Design Thinking, Lean improvement, product development, field marketing, and customer experience. The deeper move is simple: replace secondhand confidence with firsthand reality.Inside This Episode• Why false alignment can be more dangerous than visible disagreement.• How Chad Wells used Medicare customer journey mapping and ride-alongs at UnitedHealth Group.• Why camera crews, kitchens, old books, artifacts, and a cat revealed hidden customer context.• How Queens and Bronx sales-agent ride-alongs changed what marketing needed to build.• Why Bold Immersion belongs in ordinary workflows, not only innovation, UX, Lean, or product roles.Go Deeper — Premium Action PlanThis four-part Table Turners series culminates in Mark's Premium Action Plan. Begin this week by selecting one customer, employee, user, patient, beneficiary, prospect, agent, partner, or internal customer whose reality you have only experienced secondhand. In this series, Angela Finlay presses Mark on Bold Immersion: getting close enough to clients, users, employees, patients, workflows, and actual places to see what meetings, reports, AI, dashboards, and assumptions often miss. The GistAngela Finlay asks why Bold Immersion is BOLD and why smart leaders still avoid it. Mark turns BOLD into brave, outstanding, lit, and determined, then names the costly paradox: people say they lack time to understand the customers, prospects, employees, and coworkers they are trying to serve.Core ValuePart 2 moves from definition to proof. Bold Immersion is not wordplay. It is the discipline of leaving the meeting, entering the real place, and using sight, context, emotion, curiosity, and evidence to find what talk alone hides. Mark connects it to customer journey work, contextual inquiry, Voice of the Customer, UX research, Human-Centered Design, Lean, continuous product discovery, field marketing, customer experience, and AI-era decision making.Inside This Episode• Why “I don't have time to understand the customer” weakens products, service, operations, and careers.• How a medical machine, desk weights, a two-page email, and a 300-character field exposed a 10-year workflow failure.• Why Steve McCurry's Afghan Girl photo, Marty Cooper's cell-phone insight, and a lost shoe point to one Show-Me discipline.• How Bold Immersion creates 12x odds of client delight and 17x odds of work passion.• Why Ragnar, truck-driver ride-alongs, Febreze, Evenflo, and continuous product discovery widen the proof.Go Deeper — Premium Action PlanThis Table Turners series culminates in Mark's Premium Action Plan. Start this week with one Missouri moment. Choose one person you serve, inside or outside your company, and ask them to show you the space, screen, workflow, route, handoff, report, tool, delay, or obstacle. Do not solve first. Look long enough to find what meetings, dashboards, surveys, reports, or AI would have missed.Listen + Connecthttps://www.BoldEncounters.TVAngela Finlayhttps://www.windwardhcm.comhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/ablumfinlay/Mark S. It comes from better contact with reality. The professional who goes to the place, sees the angles, feels the human problem, and asks to be shown earns a kind of comprehension that meetings cannot create and AI cannot hand over. What Now?Watch Part 2, then continue the Table Turners Bold Immersion series at:https://www.BoldEncounters.TVThank YouAngela Finlay, Steve McCurry, Martin “Marty” Cooper, Ragnar, Febreze, Evenflo, Diego Rodriguez, and National GeographicCalvin Cook Music (also of Caljo), original music, @CalCookMusicAliyah Peña, Post Production, aliyahmpena@gmail.comSkyler Maudsley, Video Editing, skylermaudsley@gmail.comRosalie McGinn, Social Media, rosalie.mcginn1@gmail.com

Welcome to the Main Street Magic EPCOT World Showcase Cup! In this special tournament series, we're putting all 11 World Showcase pavilions head-to-head in a single-elimination bracket to determine, once and for all, which pavilion deserves to be crowned the ultimate EPCOT champion. Before the competition begins, we explain exactly how the tournament was created. Using AI analysis, rankings and opinions from some of the most trusted Disney fan sites, and our own experiences after countless visits to EPCOT, we seeded each pavilion into the bracket based on six major categories: Food, Drinks, Attractions, Immersion, Shopping, and Hangout Factor. But once the tournament starts, the seeds no longer matter—every matchup is decided one category at a time, with the winner advancing and the loser going home. After introducing the rules and revealing the full bracket, it's time for the opening play-in round. Three exciting matchups kick off the tournament as lower-seeded pavilions battle for the chance to face the top contenders waiting later in the bracket. Every debate is filled with tough decisions, surprising opinions, and plenty of Disney discussion as we compare everything from signature restaurants and iconic snacks to rides, entertainment, architecture, hidden details, and festival offerings. Who earns the first victories? Which pavilion pulls off an upset? And which favorites are waiting for their chance to enter the tournament? Welcome to the Main Street Magic EPCOT World Showcase Cup!

You know that kid who just can't stay in the therapy room? They leave, wander around, get into things that aren't theirs, or are maybe even destructive? And three therapists have already called it quits.Maybe this describes your kid. Maybe this describes the kids you work with. This episode is for both of you. The helper who is trying to be with this kid, wondering what they're doing wrong. The helper who is working with a furious or checked-out parent — because it's the same question. But this episode is for the parent of that kid, too.In this episode you will learn:Why saying yes to this work means saying yes to dysregulation — kid dysregulation, parent dysregulation, all of it What it looks like to stay regulated next to someone else's protection mode, whether that's a kid on a windowsill or a parent saying nothing is workingWhy a helper- or a parent- can't do this alone; and how being met with regulation yourself is what makes it possible to offer it to someone else.Come find your people — the ones who get how hard and how worth it this work is. If you're a parent or caregiver, join us in The Club at robyngobbel.com/theclubIf you're a helper and want to be included in my database of professionals trained in my framework, apply for the immersion program at https://RobynGobbel.com/immersionResources mentioned in this podcast:Reframing Resistance → https://robyngobbel.com/training/reframing-resistance/RobynGobbel.com/starthereImmersion Program → RobynGobbel.com/immersionRead the full transcript at: RobynGobbel.com/helperframeworkImmersion Program for Professionals! The Baffling Behavior Training Institute's Immersion Program for Professionals is NOW accepting applications for our 2027 cohorts. The Voice of Retail

Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming retail, but are retailers giving away too much decision-making power to algorithms? On this episode of The Voice of Retail, host Michael LeBlanc welcomes back retail strategist, educator, speaker and author Carl Boutet to the podcast to discuss his latest book, The Flip. Drawing on more than three decades of retail experience and his work advising organizations around the world, Carl offers a thought-provoking perspective on how AI is reshaping retail strategy, customer engagement and business leadership. The conversation begins with Carl's unique vantage point as a global retail observer. Fresh off another teaching engagement at the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok, Carl shares insights from Southeast Asia's rapidly evolving retail landscape. From super apps and mobile commerce to experiential shopping destinations and high-energy retail environments, he explains why emerging markets are often leapfrogging traditional retail models and creating new opportunities for customer engagement. Michael and Carl then explore one of the most important topics facing retailers today: the growing influence of artificial intelligence on decision-making. Carl argues that while AI can dramatically improve efficiency, it also poses the risk that businesses become increasingly dependent on algorithmic recommendations, potentially sacrificing the creativity, differentiation, and strategic judgment that make brands unique. At the center of the discussion is Carl's new framework outlined in The Flip. He introduces the four forces that he believes are fundamentally reshaping commerce: automation, optimization, contextualization and immersion. Together, these forces are changing how retailers attract customers, personalize experiences, manage operations and compete in increasingly digital environments. The discussion extends beyond technology into the future of retail itself. Carl shares observations from his travels across Asia, highlighting how retailers are creating energy-rich destinations that blend shopping, entertainment, food and community. These experiences offer important lessons for North American retailers seeking to remain relevant in a world where consumers increasingly have unlimited digital choices at their fingertips. Michael and Carl also examine the rise of AI-powered customer discovery, the future of search and marketing, the growing importance of trust, and why retailers must think carefully about where human value creation fits inside increasingly automated organizations. Carl explains why curiosity, organizational adaptability and a relentless focus on core business fundamentals remain essential leadership capabilities despite the rapid pace of technological change. Michael LeBlanc is the president and founder of M.E. LeBlanc & Company Inc, a senior retail advisor, keynote speaker and now, media entrepreneur. He has been on the front lines of retail industry change for his entire career. Michael has delivered keynotes, hosted fire-side discussions and participated worldwide in thought leadership panels. He brings 25+ years of brand/retail/marketing & eCommerce leadership experience with Levi's, Black & Decker, Hudson's Bay, CanWest Media, Pandora Jewellery, The Shopping Channel and Retail Council of Canada to his advisory, speaking and media practice.Michael produces and hosts a network of leading retail trade podcasts, including the award-winning No.1 independent retail industry podcast in America, Remarkable Retail with his partner, Dallas-based best-selling author Steve Dennis; Canada's top retail industry podcast The Voice of Retail and Canada's top food industry and one of the top Canadian-produced management independent podcasts in the country, The Food Professor with Dr. Sylvain Charlebois from Dalhousie University in Halifax.Rethink Retail has recognized Michael as one of the top global retail experts for the fifth year in a row, the National Retail Federation has designated Michael as on their Top Retail Voices for 2025 and 2026. Wednesday, 10 June 2026   But Jesus answered and said, “You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?” They said to Him, “We are able.” Matthew 20:22   “Answering, also, Jesus, He said, ‘Not you have known what you ask! Are you able to drink the cup, the ‘I, I am about to drink,' or the immersion, the ‘I, I am immersed' to be immersed?' They say to Him, ‘We are able.'” (CG).   In the previous verse, the mother of Zebedee's sons asked Jesus to grant that her two sons could sit on His right and left sides in His kingdom. In response, Matthew records, “Answering, also, Jesus, He said, ‘Not you have known what you ask!'”   As noted in the previous verse, a question like this can cause real problems for the one being asked. His mind will have to consider every contingency that may arise in the future, something such a spur-of-the-moment question will not normally allow.   Because of this, a tension arises between granting and not granting the request. In the case of Jesus, no such tension would arise. He would know and understand all future possibilities, including the negatives such a question would entail.   In this case, one of the immediate negatives is that the asker, not the one being asked, really has no idea what they (the verb is plural) are truly asking for. In the case of this question, Ellicott correctly states, “That nearness to Him in His glory could be obtained only by an equal nearness in suffering.”   It isn't that they counted such a cost. Rather, they have no idea about such a cost. They think Jesus will be hailed by the people as the Messiah and Israel's King, but there is not an inkling in their mind what He will go through for that to come about.   As this is so, these two men have actually put themselves ahead of Jesus. They are asking for a position in Jesus' kingdom before He has gone through what is necessary to obtain that kingdom. It is true that their request is conditional on His securing the kingdom, but because of their ignorance of what that involves, it's like saying, “Whatever happens that causes You to be king, we want to be there on seats with You when it is over.”   This is a natural human way of looking at things, and it is just what Jonathan did with David when he was set to become the king –   “And he said to him, ‘Do not fear, for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you. You shall be king over Israel, and I shall be next to you. Even my father Saul knows that.'” 1 Samuel 23:17   Jonathan assumed that the future was set by his words, but God's plans and purposes must come to pass according to His will. Jesus, knowing what lies ahead in His ministry, hints that it will not be what these two men think, asking, “Are you able to drink the cup, the ‘I, I am about to drink'?”   The cup signifies one's lot, good and bad. When one drinks from a cup of sweetness, the sweetness becomes a part of that person, invigorating him. When he drinks hemlock, it becomes a part of him, destroying his life. Jesus had come to deal with sin in humanity. Such a cup would mean God's wrath on sin would be poured out. Israel sinned, and they received God's cup of wrath –   “Awake, awake! Stand up, O Jerusalem, You who have drunk at the hand of the Lord The cup of His fury; You have drunk the dregs of the cup of trembling, And drained it out.” Isaiah 51:17   Jesus' cup would be sufficient to deal with all of the sins of humanity. Thus, it would be a terrifying cup of wrath and judgment. He continues, asking, “or the immersion, the ‘I, I am immersed' to be immersed?”   Immersion signifies a change in direction and even in nature. John's immersion was one of repentance, turning from sin and returning to the way of the Lord. Jesus' immersion is found in the cross. It is the instrument of His immersion, going from life with God in Christ to immersion in death and separation from God for man's sin.   These together, the cup and the immersion, were what Jesus was destined for. And they were not for His sake but for the world. Despite this, and having no clue what this meant, the brothers chimed in with words of confidence. Matthew records, “They say to Him, ‘We are able.'”   It is a noble and confident affirmation lacking any comprehension of what lay ahead for Jesus.   Life application: Imagine what God in Christ was willing to do to restore us to Himself. He was under no obligation to suffer the indignation, torture, and humility of the cross in order to restore us to Him. And yet, He willingly did it.   What value does God see in us? It is hard to figure but it is there. His infinite goodness meant setting aside His glory and taking on a frail, human form. And His humanity went through all the struggles and trials humans face. And then it went through more when He was judged for our sins.   If you feel you are lacking value, look to the cross of Christ. You have infinite value in God's eyes when you accept the gospel and follow Jesus in faith.   Lord God, it is beyond our comprehension when we try to consider what the cross of Jesus truly signifies. It is the highest point of our existence when we to look and accept what it means. Everything changes from that moment on. Thank You, O God, for Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank You. Amen.

https://media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/media.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/ins.blubrry.com/thesuccessfulmindpodcast/TSM728_MDM_May6_26.mp3   Success through immersion is the principle I keep coming back to — because it’s the one most people resist, and the one that explains nearly every plateau I’ve ever seen. If you’ve been working hard, studying the concepts, doing the mindset work, and still feel like you keep bouncing back to old patterns — this episode is probably why. Success Through Immersion: Why an Hour a Day Won’t Get You ThereI use language learning as the entry point here, because it’s such a clean illustration of the problem. You can study Italian for an hour a day, learn vocabulary, practice pronunciation — and still fall completely apart the moment you’re in a room where nobody speaks English. Not a failure of effort. A failure of immersion. The same dynamic plays out with success. Most people spend an hour in the new mindset and twenty-three hours back in the old environment — surrounded by the same triggers, conversations, and patterns. The mind doesn’t integrate what it only visits. It integrates what it lives in. I know this firsthand. When I left working for someone else and went all-in on my own business, I didn’t ease into it — I dove in completely. Every decision, every response, every moment had to come from a successful place, because there was no other option. That’s what made it permanent. Success Through Immersion: How to Build the Environment That Changes YouChanging your mindset isn’t about trying harder inside the same environment — it’s about changing the environment so that the new thinking becomes the default. Steph Toss is one of the clearest examples I’ve ever seen of what full immersion actually produces. Rather than just taking notes, she traveled, sold, sat in every room, and learned every part of the business — until there wasn’t a single aspect of success she hadn’t lived firsthand. That’s when transformation becomes real and permanent. The same principle applies whether you’re working on your income, your relationships, or your health. Take an honest inventory of what in your life is still wired to the old version of you — the triggers, the habits, the conversations — and stop tolerating it. Success isn’t a thing you do for an hour. It’s a language you speak all the time, until one day you realize you’re no longer translating. You’re just thinking that way. That’s when you know the immersion worked. If you’ve been stuck in the cycle of progress followed by setbacks, this episode is an honest look at why — and what a real path through it looks like. Episode 650 – Immersion is Crucial for Mastery Episode 496 – Insider Secrets for Creating Consistent Cashflow – Part I Episode 384 – Raising the Bar You are successful on paper… but why doesn't it feel like freedom? In August, I'm bringing together a group of driven entrepreneurs for a 2-day business intensive where we strip away the fear, resistance, and patterns that quietly cap your growth, and get you clear on your next breakthrough.Together, we'll uncover what's been holding you back, claim the freedom you've been chasing, and walk away with the clarity and courage to lead your business — and your life — on your terms. And because business growth isn't just about mindset, Steph Tuss is teaching a special marketing session on the latest business-building tactics that are working now. You've said it out loud more than once. My team knows exactly what we're trying to build. Then a few weeks go by and you realize they don't. Not because they're lazy or checked out, but because the vision lives in your head and never quite made it into theirs. So you do what feels logical. Tighten the systems. Add accountability. Call another meeting. And still the team nods, complies, and quietly does the bare minimum. In this episode, Peter and Craig name the real problem. It isn't a discipline problem. It's a leadership gap. You've been managing your team when what they're waiting for is to be led. They break down why management and leadership are not the same thing, why influence beats authority every time, and why your team can't write themselves into a vision you've never actually shown them. They explain why accountability gets easier the moment alignment exists, and why constantly pushing your people usually means you're solving the wrong problem. You'll walk away seeing the bottleneck clearly, and knowing it's something you can fix. When your team finally sees where you're going, they stop complying and start rowing.
