J. Mack Slaughter Jr. is an American emergency physician, philanthropist, youtuber, tiktoker and retired actor and singer. Slaughter began acting in local theatre as a child. At the age of 15, he successfully auditioned for a boy band called Sons of Harmony started by a radio station in Dallas. They toured with Destiny's Child and opened for Bon Jovi and Jessica Simpson. Three years later, in 2001, the band broke up, after which Slaughter moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in acting. In 2003, he won the role of Keith in the WB sitcom Like Family. The following year, Slaughter had a role in the comedy film, Fat Albert, starring Kenan Thompson and Kyla Pratt. In 2008, he founded the non-profit Music Meets Medicine, where musicians volunteer with children and youth at local hospitals, performing and teaching music. In 2018, Music Meets Medicine teamed up with non-profit, Kidd's Kids, to raise $150,000 to create a therapeutic arts space at Dallas Children's Medical Center.Slaughter eventually left acting to attend UT Southwestern Medical School, graduating in 2013 and is currently an emergency room physician, at several hospitals in the Fort Worth area.

"Can I please get another glass of Chardonnay please?" We're back on our horror icon Michael Myers this week as we look back at Halloween: H20. Released for the 20th anniversary of John Carpenter's original summer of 1998, it was an early capitalizer of nostalgia culture, this time scrapping 4, 5, and 6 (The Thorn Trilogy) in favor of a more streamlined story. Jamie Lee Curtis is back playing Laurie Strode, after a seventeen-year hiatus. Laurie is in hidding after faking her own death after the events of Halloween II, and is the head mistress of a excluvie west coast boarding school. It's the type of soap oprea backstory we love, and the Spanish style board school gives it an odd flavor that all of the movies don't have. The end result is a short and sweet little 90s post-Scream slasher. Seriously, with credits, this movie runs a brisk 86 minutes, that includes the  ten-minute prologue before the credits. When JLC appears on screen, there are under seventy minutes left! We talk about Kevin Williamson's uncredited rewrite, its very WB-friendly cast, and don't worry, we talk extensively about Josh Harnett's goat-crewed bangs. The hair deserves its own Wikipedia page at this point. H20 is hardly a perfect movie, but we stand by that it has aged better than most of the sequels, including the recent David Gordon Green movies. The second season of the American black comedy superhero television series Peacemaker is based on the eponymous character from DC Comics. While the first season is a spin-off from the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) film The Suicide Squad (2021), the second season is set in the DC Universe (DCU) which is a "soft reboot" of the DCEU. The season continues the story of jingoistic vigilante Chris Smith / Peacemaker, who finds an alternate dimension where his father and brother are still alive and the family together is a highly regarded superhero team. It is set after the events of the DCU film Superman (2025). It is produced by DC Studios with James Gunn as showrunner.John Cena stars as the titular character alongside Danielle Brooks, Freddie Stroma, Jennifer Holland, Steve Agee, Frank Grillo, and Robert Patrick. The season was ordered in February 2022, with Gunn set to write and direct all eight episodes. Filming was expected to begin in 2023, but work was put on hold when Gunn was made co-CEO of DC Studios and switched focus to Superman. The spin-off series Waller was then prioritized, but later delayed by the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes, and in March 2024 Gunn announced that the second season of Peacemaker would now release first. Some filming occurred the next month, taking place simultaneously with Superman at Trilith Studios in Atlanta, Georgia. Principal photography for the season took place from June to November.The season premiered on the streaming service HBO Max on August 21, 2025, and consisted of eight episodes.
