Former National Libertarian Chairman and current Florida Chairman for the Jo Jorgensen campaign, Jim Turney (https://jo20.com/) gets down and dirty! He talks about the platform of a President Jorgensen and the current climate in politics. He addresses the issues with both corporate parties as Democrats and Republicans would rather tie up democracy in court than face a voter choice. He gets into different issues addressing real problems facing the U.S. We chopped it up pretty well! Jim is also a Commissioner on the Altamonte Springs City Commission in District 1 in Florida. Today’s message is about the power of Christ and is presented by Jim Turney and James Gray. The power of Christ is greater than the power of evil, even if you’ve allowed evil into your life, Jesus can overcome it. We need to be careful what we allow into our lives when looking for a solution to a problem. What are we allowing to influence us? Are we relying on God? We encourage you to seek Jesus anew and remind yourselves of his power and ability to impact your life today.
First, Brian Zitt from Florida shares his testimony about the saving power of Jesus that rescued him from a life of drugs and gambling. Now, Brian travels and preaches about the power of Christ and the Gospel message. Then, Jim Turney continues our series. Jesus taught a parable of a rich farmer who had a bumper crop who built bigger storehouses so he could save all of the extra harvest and live easily. But, the man died and lost it all. We too are very good at storing up treasures. We store extra socks, money, canned goods, tools. Some of us have extra cars, houses, insurance plans. What do you do with the extra that you receive from God? Do you store it up for yourself? Perhaps you assume the extra is for you? Could God be blessing you with extra so He could bless somebody else through you? This is what it means to be rich towards God! Jesus said, store up your treasures in Heaven and there is where you heart will be.
As we finish our series on wisdom we end with a teaching on how to take all that we’ve learned and apply it using the 7th pillar, discernment. Jim Turney offers some ideas from the bible on a lifestyle, a way of living, that shows discernment. Join us as we pursue wisdom and ultimately pursue the one who embodied a wise life, Jesus.
The knowledge of God is filled with details, facts, and truth that God will impart to us because He loves us and knows what is best for us. Knowledge is something that is so valuable and worth chasing after. And once you have it you can share it. Jim Turney points towards many different scriptures today that stress the importance of knowledge so that we understand the importance of it on our lives.
Now that we’ve focused on the Christians need for wisdom, we begin to apply wisdom to specific areas starting with our view of God. The bible teaches us to fear the Lord, but so many people for different reasons are frightened God, which is not a healthy fear of God. Jim Turney teaches on what the proper fear of God means and how our relationship with God improves when we have a wisdom based fear of God.
