On today's program, a federal judge has dismissed the last remaining claim in Johnny Hunt’s defamation lawsuit, marking the end of a contentious legal battle. He had sued the Southern Baptist Convention and others back in 2023. And, a Texas church is sued by the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church over its bylaw changes. Plus, water filters open doors to share the gospel with vulnerable people around the world. But first, a story out of Tucson, Arizona. Warren, tell us what’s going on at GracePointe Church. Arizona authorities have arrested a former finance manager at GracePointe Church on felony charges. Her name is Tracey Jorgensen. She’s 61 years old. Court documents say Jorgensen stole church funds for five years — from 2020 to 2025. The total is more than $356,000. The producer for today's program is Jeff McIntosh. We get editorial, database, and other technical support from Christina Darnell, Stephen DuBarry, Rod Pitzer, Heidi Allums, and Casey Sudduth. Writers who contributed to today's program include Jessica Eturralde, Bob Smietana, Michaela Gordoni, Kim Roberts, Kadence McKinnon, Kathryn Post, and Makella Knowles. Until next time, may God bless you.

Do you look back at your sex ed classes and wonder WTF?! Are you a parent looking at your kid's curriculum and asking the same question? Sex Education 101: Approachable Essays on Folklore, Culture, & History (Fox Folk Press, 2023) is less of a how-to of sex education and more of a why. Why does abstinence-only sex ed receive so much federal funding? Why do instructors show gross images of STIs to scare students? The answers, believe it or not, have a lot to do with folklore. Folklore—informally transmitted traditional culture—has a lot to say about sex. And it is often people's first point of contact with information and messages about sex. Folklore encompasses urban legends, moral panics, and rumors, which influenced early U.S. policies around sex, and also includes jokes, raunchy folk songs, and beliefs and slang about menstruation or STIs. And thus, folklore shapes sex ed classrooms and school sex ed policies. Jeana Jorgensen earned her PhD in folklore at Indiana University. She is a lecturer in anthropology at Butler University and part of the editorial team at Marvel's & Tales. Her books include Folklore 101 (2021), Fairy Tales 101 (2022), and Sex Education 101 (2023), and her work has appeared in the Journal of American Folklore, Fabula, Journal of Folklore Research, and elsewhere. Every System Failed Her Daughter — So She Built a New OneJennifer Jorgensen never imagined she would become a mental health advocate. She was simply a mother. Trying to protect her daughter. Doing what mothers do when they see their child hurting — asking for help, demanding intervention, refusing to accept dismissal as an answer.Every system failed her.And then came the call that no parent should ever receive. What Jennifer did next — not in spite of her grief but because of it — is a story about what happens when a woman refuses to let tragedy be the final word. She Saw It Before Anyone ElseJennifer's daughter was a sensitive, deeply feeling child whose emotional world was often overwhelming. She was also the girl who wholeheartedly embraced a community project her mother created called Cookies with Cops — a simple, intentional idea that children and police officers who decorated cookies together might see each other with more compassion. Her daughter wanted to build bridges in a world full of walls. That was the essence of who she was. When the brightness began to dim, Jennifer noticed immediately. She writes in her chapter of Alpha Queens Rising: Where Purpose Meets Power: “I always knew my daughter was special. Her heart was sensitive, deep, and intuitive. When something shifted — when her brightness dimmed — I noticed immediately.”She asked for help from doctors, therapists, anyone who might intervene. The responses were dismissive. She is overreacting. Teenagers are emotional. She will grow out of it.“But I knew the difference between dramatic and drowning.”The Concussion That Changed EverythingThen came the concussion — a head injury that altered the entire landscape of her daughter's health. Jennifer watched her struggle to think clearly, to regulate her emotions, to simply feel like herself again. What many families don't know — and what Jennifer now teaches others — is that head injuries alter brain chemistry in ways that even medical professionals routinely underestimate. When you add hormonal changes and a nervous system already running on overload, the result is a storm that looks invisible from the outside. Jennifer could see it clearly. She asked for help. She was told to wait.Hormones, emotional sensitivity, and brain trauma created a crisis that no one in the medical system would acknowledge with the urgency it deserved.Still no safety plan. No immediate intervention. No one who treated her mother's instinct as data worth acting on.The First AttemptThe day her daughter attempted suicide for the first time was the day Jennifer's world permanently bent.Emergency room. Minimal evaluation. A checklist. A discharge. The label attached to the chart: attention-seeking behavior.Outpatient therapy was offered — weeks out. Not days. Weeks. In a crisis that required immediate care, the system handed them a waiting list.“It felt like screaming into a void,” Jennifer writes. She screamed anyway. She called. She followed up. She advocated louder and longer than any parent should have to. She documented everything. She did not accept the system's pace when her daughter's life was the stakes.None of it was enough. The CallAnd then came the call that ended everything. One sentence. Her daughter was gone. All the warnings Jennifer had raised. All the doors she had knocked on. All the late nights monitoring her daughter's breathing, sitting outside her room, checking and rechecking.None of it mattered because the world did not listen.Grief after losing a child is not a wound — it is a world. Everything inside it reorganizes. The air is different. Time moves differently. Jennifer questioned herself in every direction. Did she do enough? Did she miss something? Was there one more door she should have knocked on?Her answer is clear and she has said it publicly, repeatedly, because it needs to be heard: “I didn't fail her. The system failed her. And I refuse to let silence win.”A Mission Born From the UnspeakableJennifer made a choice in the aftermath of that loss that only the most courageous women make. She decided her daughter's life would not end with her death. It would become a mandate.“If God chose me to be her mother,” she writes, “then He is choosing me now to be her voice.”She began creating Care Kits for teens in crisis — something tangible a struggling young person could hold in their hands that said one simple thing: you matter today. Not after the waiting list clears. Not after someone returns a call. Today. As parents and teens began sharing how these kits opened conversations that had previously been impossible, Jennifer realized she had built something more than comfort. She had built a point of intervention. The Care Bag ProgramShe took that realization to her county's sheriff's department. They listened. Together, they created the Care Bag Program — a tangible, immediate resource for families navigating mental health emergencies in real time. Each bag is assembled with care and purpose. It contains a small sharps box, a cabinet lock, a drug-dissolver pouch, Narcan, tools for de-escalating anxiety, and local emergency resources. Every item has a reason. Every item represents a gap in the system that Jennifer refused to accept. She is actively building additional programs to support both teens and adults at risk. The work has expanded beyond kits and into education, community partnerships, and public awareness — because Jennifer understands that one program is not enough. The system failed at multiple points. The response has to match the scale of the failure. If even one life is saved because of her daughter's story, she writes, her purpose continues. What She Needs the World to HearJennifer Jorgensen is a mental health advocate dedicated to preventing suicide and supporting families in crisis. Guided by her Christian faith and her daughter's legacy, she creates Care Kits for teens and collaborates with law enforcement to provide immediate, accessible resources for families when they need them most. Her message is not abstract. It is specific, urgent, and grounded in what she learned the hardest way a mother can learn anything:“Parents know their children. Our voices must matter.”Mental health struggles are real. Brain injuries matter. Anxiety is not drama. Silence is deadly. Suicide is preventable. And a waiting list is not a safety plan. She fights now because her daughter cannot. She speaks now because her daughter was silenced. She builds now because every child deserves better than what her daughter received. Her mission is clear and it will not stop: no child should feel so alone that they believe there is no way out.Alpha Queens Rising: Where Purpose Meets Power is available now. This week on Mormon Stories News, we take a closer look at the people, controversies, and events making waves across Mormonism. We begin with the story of a disturbing abuse case involving a former LDS Priest Quorum Specialist accused of sexually abusing his nephew. The case has prompted conversations about trust, access to youth, safeguarding policies, and whether church members are adequately trained to recognize and prevent abuse within families and congregations. We also examine a rare public apology from General Authority Seventy Kyle McKay. McKay recently acknowledged that previous statements he made regarding Church history were offensive and offered a correction. We discuss what was said and why the apology matters. Can AI replace God? That's the question Elder Gerrit W. Gong recently addressed in a viral Church-produced video. We break down his comments, the Church's growing concern over artificial intelligence, and whether AI is becoming a competing source of information, guidance, and authority for members navigating faith questions.Next, we turn to the appointment of Jay Jorgensen to the Utah Supreme Court. Jorgensen's nomination has sparked discussion because of his employment with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his statements regarding whether he would recuse himself from Church-related cases. We examine the concerns surrounding judicial independence, conflicts of interest, and public confidence in the courts. We dive into the growing controversy surrounding Jeff Strong's book Torn. Strong's work has generated significant discussion among Latter-day Saints by examining why many members become disaffected or leave the Church. Recent responses from prominent LDS commentators argue that Strong's research methodology is flawed and that he misrepresents faithful members' experiences. We finish with a brief snippet from Rebecca Bibliotecca about the ongoing temple drama in Fairview Texas. What are your thoughts on this week's stories? Join the conversation in the comments.___________________YouTubeAt Mormon Stories we explore, celebrate, and challenge Mormon culture through in-depth stories told by members and former members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as well as scholars, authors, LDS apologists, and other professionals.  Our overall mission is to: 1. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Michelle Jorgensen, a holistic dentist and founder of Living Well with Dr. Michelle, to explore the powerful connection between oral health and systemic wellness. Through her own personal experience with mercury toxicity from dental fillings, Dr. Jorgensen shares how that journey transformed her approach to dentistry and led her toward a more integrative, physiology-based model of care. We discuss how chronic oral inflammation may contribute to broader health issues, including cardiovascular disease, metabolic dysfunction, and chronic inflammation throughout the body. We also dive into topics such as mercury amalgams, fluoride, root canals, dental meridians, and the growing understanding of how the mouth can influence the rest of the body. From alternative dental care strategies to the role of hydroxyapatite and oil pulling, this conversation challenges conventional thinking and highlights why oral health should be part of every comprehensive wellness plan. If you want to better understand the mouth-body connection and how oral health impacts long-term wellness, this episode will completely change the way you think about dentistry.   Key takeaways: Oral Health's Impact on Overall Health: The mouth is a gateway influencing systemic health, potentially driving inflammation and chronic disease. Dangers of Conventional Dental Practices: Practices like mercury fillings, fluoride use, and root canals may contribute to broader health issues. Holistic Approach & Dental Meridians: The intricate network connecting teeth to body systems underlines the importance of holistic dental practices. Role of Dentists in Health: Dentists have a responsibility to protect patient health beyond traditional drilling and filling.   More About Dr. Michelle Jorgensen: Today's guest is Dr. Michelle Jorgensen, a former traditional dentist turned holistic health pioneer, who helps exhausted, health-conscious people finally feel like themselves again—by starting where health actually begins: your cells. The nation has been shaken by violence yet again. The assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents Dinner was another jarring tear in the fabric of our public life. Every day Americans also hear divisive, angry, rhetoric from national political leaders and media pundits. On "How Do We Fix It? we discuss how growing numbers of Americans are pushing back against toxic divides. We report on the work of Braver Angels: The national movement that brings reds and blues together in the same room. This episode with Reena Bernards and Casey Jorgensen covers the Braver Angels Mobile Summit in Utah, a traveling conference where practical steps were taken to build bridges and cross divides.Volunteers drove an RV across Utah, and also ran in-person events where red and blue citizens worked together on polarizing issues such as immigration. Two mobile summits in late 2025, and again in the spring of this year, featured workshops, debates and dialog. The aim was to depolarize communities and strengthen civic engagement. I've had hundreds of conversations with orthodontists about DSOs, OSOs, and private equity—and here's the truth: most of you are making decisions based on incomplete, outdated, or just plain wrong information. In this episode, I sit down with Connor Jorgensen, Director at Tusk Practice Sales, to cut through the noise and talk about what's actually happening in today's market. If you've ever wondered what your practice is worth, how equity really works, or whether you're leaving money (or opportunity) on the table… This episode will give you clarity—and probably challenge a few assumptions along the way.Quotes“When someone tells you you're going to get a 5–7x return on your equity… that's unrealistic. Be sure to subscribe on your favorite podcasting app or on the Ranch It Up Radio Show YouTube Channel. How Jorgensen Land & Cattle Uses Line Breeding To Increase Heterosis Jorgensen Land & Cattle has built its reputation on a simple but powerful idea: use linebreeding to create consistency, then use that consistency to maximize heterosis in commercial herds. Through decades of disciplined selection, the ranch has linebred its Angus cattle around proven genetics. This means their bulls are highly uniform, predictable, and strong in key traits like fertility, growth, and carcass quality. Instead of chasing constant outcrosses, they “lock in” performance by stacking generations of elite animals. So where does heterosis come in? When these linebred bulls are crossed with genetically different commercial cows, the calves benefit from hybrid vigor—often showing improved growth, health, and reproductive performance. The consistency of the bull allows producers to reliably capture these gains. In short: Linebreeding creates dependable, uniform bulls Crossbreeding those bulls creates high-performing, heterotic calves Jorgensen's system proves that linebreeding isn't the opposite of heterosis—it's one of the best ways to make it work predictably. Chelsea were the better team for 75 minutes in Paris and somehow contrived to lose 5-2 in one of the most catastrophic second-half collapses this club has ever produced in European football. Filip Jorgensen was an absolute disaster between the sticks, and the decision to make him first-choice goalkeeper now looks not just questionable but potentially season-defining in the worst possible way.Manny is back and both hosts come out swinging in what is one of the most explosive episodes in Chelsea Against The World history. Simon and Manny do not hold back on Jorgensen, on Liam Rosenior's baffling goalkeeping decision, on a defensive unit that fell apart completely, and on a club that somehow managed to be embarrassing whilst being the better side for three quarters of a Champions League tie. How does that even happen? The hosts take a hard look at the bigger picture — this is not just about one goalkeeper or one bad half. This is about a pattern of catastrophic decision-making at Chelsea that runs from the dugout upward. Rosenior's insistence on Jorgensen as number one has been questioned all season, and Paris may well be the moment that defines his tenure at the club in the most painful way imaginable. Is the Champions League over? Almost certainly. But more urgently — what does this collapse say about where Chelsea truly are as a club, and who is actually accountable when it all falls apart so spectacularly and so repeatedly?

For 70 minutes, Chelsea went toe-to-toe with the best team in Europe. They played with courage. They played with quality. At times, they were the better side. And then came the collapse. In this episode, Chris and Joe react to a chaotic night in Paris that somehow managed to be both encouraging and maddening in equal measure. We get into the Jorgensen decision, the brutal turning point that changed the tie, Chelsea's wastefulness in both boxes, and the wider problem of a squad that still feels short in too many key areas despite all the spending. But this isn't just a post-mortem. There's also perspective. Because beneath the madness of the scoreline was a Chelsea performance that, for long spells, showed real growth. Also in the episode:Levi Colwill's return to training, the FA Cup opportunity opening up, Pedro Neto's ballboy moment, and why Newcastle now feels absolutely huge. A story about what happens when you build a Forever Business—instead of chasing the next exitThis episode is for sales-led SaaS founders who feel the business is getting slower the bigger it gets—and starting to accept that as normal. Most software companies slow down as they scale. Access got faster.Jon Jorgensen, Co-CEO of The Access Group, joined as a telesales trainee straight from school. In 2011, the company was doing £24 million. Fifteen years later, it's a £1.2 billion business with 160,000 customers. His belief: if you build what he calls a "Forever Business," growth compounds instead of stalling—even after six private equity transactions. And this inspired me to invite Jon to my podcast. We explore why companies that never stop learning outgrow everyone else. Jon shares lessons about what shifted when Access moved from profit-driven to value-creation thinking, why he pushed equity to over 50% of employees, and what a "Forever Business" actually demands. You'll discover how a company survives six private equity transactions and 9,000 employees—without becoming the corporate machine everyone expects. We also zoom in on two of the 10 traits that define remarkable software companies: – Master the art of curiosity – Master creating momentumJon's journey proves that remarkable companies treat curiosity as a daily practice, not a poster on the wall—and that's what creates momentum competitors cannot replicate. Here's one of Jon's quotes that captures his leadership philosophy:"I can't change you. You've got to want to change. I can't make you do something. You've got to want to do it."By listening to this episode, you'll learn:Why shifting from profit-driven to value-creation thinking changes everything about growthWhat happens when you push equity deep into the organization instead of hoarding itWhy the psychology of belonging matters more than strategy at scaleHow building a "Forever Business" protects against short-term pressure from investorsFor more information about the guest from this week: Guest: Jon Jorgensen, Co-CEO, The Access Group Website: theaccessgroup.com

It's Thursday, February 5th, A.D. 2026. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Sam Brownback: “Dictators fear religious freedom more than nuclear weapons” The International Religious Freedom Summit held its six annual meeting this week in Washington, D.C. Organizers reported nearly 80% of people around the world live in countries with high levels of restrictions on religion. The meeting identified China, Iran, Russia, Nigeria, and India as some of the worst countries for religious freedom. Sam Brownback, co-chair of the summit, said, “Ours is truly a global movement feared by dictators around the world because we represent the heart of freedom. They actually fear religious freedom more than they do aircraft carriers or even nuclear weapons.” In John 8:31-32, Jesus said, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Finnish authorities continue to harass Christian Parliamentarian Attacks on religious freedom are rising in Europe as well. A prominent example is Finnish Parliamentarian Päivi Räsänen. She has faced trial three times for sharing her Christian beliefs online. Her case is now before Finland's top court.  Räsänen testified before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee yesterday in a hearing on Europe's threat to American speech. Concerning her case, she has warned, “If I would lose, it would mean … starting a time of persecution of Christians in Finland and also in Europe.” Listen to her comments at the hearing. RÄSÄNEN: “I have been supported by my faith and thousands of expressions of support I have received from around the world, including many from the U.S. Congress. “I remain hopeful. I trust that freedom of expression can still be upheld. It is too important to lose.” Will Europe ban social media for minors? European countries are considering measures to ban social media use for minors. France's National Assembly passed a bill last week that prohibits children under 15 from using social media. The bill heads to the French Senate. President Emmanuel Macron supports the measure. Similarly, Spain and Greece recently announced plans to ban social media use by teenagers there. This comes after Australia became the first country in the world to enforce such a ban last December. Trump signed $1.2 trillion funding bill In the United States, President Donald Trump signed a $1.2 trillion funding bill on Tuesday. This ends the partial government shutdown that began on Saturday. The bill did not including long-term funding for the Department of Homeland Security which includes U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Democrats are demanding changes to the agency before approving more funding.  700 of 3,000 ICE officers leave Minnesota Speaking of ICE, White House Border Czar Tom Homan  announced a drawdown of immigration enforcement officers in Minnesota yesterday. About 700 of the roughly 3,000 officers in the state are leaving. Homan's goal is a complete drawdown which depends on cooperation from local officials. He said, “We currently have an unprecedented number of counties communicating with us now and allowing ICE to take custody of illegal aliens before they hit the streets.” Washington Hospital ends transgender mutilations The News Tribune reports a hospital in Washington State is ending its mutilating transgender surgeries. MultiCare Mary Bridge Children's Hospital in Tacoma cited loss of funding under the Trump administration for the closure. President Donald Trump signed an Executive Order in January 2025, protecting children from chemical and surgical mutilation. Last year, over 20 hospitals began rolling back such practices. Walmart first retailer to reach $1 trillion market capitalization Walmart became the first retailer to reach a market capitalization of one trillion dollars on Tuesday. The list of trillion dollar companies has been dominated by tech companies. Not surprisingly, Walmart's record valuation is accompanied by recent growth in its online business and investment in Artificial Intelligence technology.  1,161st anniversary of Anskar, missionary to Denmark and Sweden And finally, this week is the anniversary of the death of Anskar, the first missionary to Denmark and Sweden. The traditional date of his death is February 3, A.D. 865. Anskar was known as the “Apostle to the North” for his work of evangelism in Scandinavia.   Historian A.D. Jorgensen wrote of the missionary, “He possessed a rare eloquence both in preaching and in common talk, so that he left on all men an extraordinary impression: the mighty and haughty were frightened by his tone of authority, the poor and humble looked to him as to a father, whilst his equals loved him as a brother. …. What he carried out in the thirty-three years of his bishopric was of imperishable importance.” In Romans 1:16, the Apostle Paul wrote, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, February 5th, in the year of our Lord 2026. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com).
