Welcome back to another episode of The BoatCast! This week, we have the pleasure of featuring the talented musician, Matthew Wade, known widely by his stage name, My Silent Bravery. Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Matt discovered his passion for music at an early age. His musical journey started with a guitar, a gift from his parents, which quickly became a gateway to expressing his thoughts and feelings. This passion for music lives on in MSB's music. His lyrics often carry an undercurrent of positivity and resilience - and sounds have culminated in a unique blend of pop, rock, and reggae influences. Matt's most recognized work is the 2017 album "Willing to Try," featuring three hit songs that charted heavily on Billboard. The first single, "Got it Going On," topped the Billboard Hot Singles Sales Chart for ten consecutive weeks and ranked on five Billboard charts. The second single, "Girl You Think You Know," reached #3 on the Billboard Hot Singles Sales Chart and #1 on the Soundscan Top 100 singles Chart. The third single, "18," also charted on three Billboard charts. Additionally, Matthew's music has been featured in various TV shows, films, and he has partnered with several brands. In this interview, Matt talks collaboration with greats like Matisyahu and has toured with several artists that are well know to The Rock Boat Family (no spoilers here, you have to listen to find out). Tune into this episode as we delve deeper into Wade's musical journey, his inspirations (including someday making a TRB appearance), and the stories behind his addictive melodies. Our guest today is Matthew Wade, song writer, musician, artist, husband, father & more. Matthew's band, My Silent Bravery symbolizes persistence, perseverance and inner strength to overcome obstacles in the face of adversity. It is this type of determination that helped Matt overcome years of chronic pain that developed through a sports injury in his youth which led him to pursue his passion in music. The injury opened the door to spirituality and a higher calling. Through personal work and transformation, he learned the importance of “paying it forward” and now feels one of his missions in life is to help inspire others to do the same by delivering his positive message to the masses through the music of My Silent Bravery.
