Our last metaphor for God is wind, which happens to share a definition in Greek with Spirit. Like the wind, God is an invisible force with a very visible presence, and also a bit of mystery. We don't know where the wind comes from or often where it is going, and we certainly don't have much control over it. But it can be used to power our lives in very positive ways.

GO FORWARD CONFERENCE|| DEC 2024| DAY 13 (part b) | UNCHANGING NATURE, DYNAMIC WORKS| UNDERSTANDING GOD'S MOVEMENTS | CHIMDI OHAHUNA    Welcome to this teaching episode. In it, we will further explore the profound understanding of God's unchanging nature and the dynamic progression of His works. This teaching will reveal how God's actions were initiated before time began, with time aligning with His divine movement rather than the reverse.   Challenge traditional beliefs within Christendom that emphasize catching up with trends, instead, this teaching highlights the truth that we are ahead of trends by being led by the Spirit of God. As Romans 8:14 states, those the Spirit leads are the sons of God, moving in sync with His will, beyond the grasp of worldly trends.   Drawing inspiration from John 3:8 and John 1:5, we compare the movement of God's children to the wind—mysterious and untraceable. We emphasize the importance of standing firm and stationary in Christ, rooted in His revelation, as Galatians 5:1 urges.   Also, this teaching unravels the Greek term 'stekou' (stationary), using the metaphor of a house built on a rock versus one on sand (Matthew 7:24-27). We stress the need to know the truth, which sets us free (John 8:32), urging believers to fully embody Christ and reveal Him through their lives.   We explore faith as a defense mechanism, represented by the shield of faith (Ephesians 6:16), emphasizing the need to be unmovable and persevering in Christ. As we stand firm, the world will witness our faith and be drawn to Christ, fulfilling our mission to reconcile them to the Lord Jesus.   Join us as we uncover these timeless truths, calling for believers to be firmly rooted and built up in Christ, standing fast in their faith, and moving with the divine flow that transcends time and trends.   Grace to you!   Jesus is Lord. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gracelife-comi/support

The three horses collaborate and bring forth divine law and remind us that nothing is random. There is an Equine Council of Elders fromed by highly ascended beings who have spent many lifetimes as a horse. Fasincating book!  You can visit Ellen on her website EnlightenedAnimals.com. In 1939, when John Steinbeck's The Grapes of Wrath was published, it became an instant bestseller and a prevailing narrative in the nation's collective imagination of the era. But it also stopped the publication of another important novel, silencing a gifted writer who was more intimately connected to the true experiences of Dust Bowl migrants. In Riding Like the Wind: The Life of Sanora Babb (University of California Press, 2024), renowned biographer Dr. Iris Jamahl Dunkle revives the groundbreaking voice of Sanora Babb. Dunkle follows Babb from her impoverished childhood in eastern Colorado to California. There, she befriended the era's literati, including Ray Bradbury and Ralph Ellison; entered into an illegal marriage; and was blacklisted by the House Un-American Activities Committee. It was Babb's field notes and oral histories of migrant farmworkers that Steinbeck relied on to write his novel. But this is not merely a saga of literary usurping; on her own merits, Babb's impact was profound. Her life and work feature heavily in Ken Burns's award-winning documentary The Dust Bowl and inspired Kristin Hannah in her bestseller The Four Winds. Riding Like the Wind reminds us with fresh awareness that the stories we know—and who tells them—can change the way we remember history. This interview was conducted by Dr. Miranda Melcher whose new book focuses on post-conflict military integration, understanding treaty negotiation and implementation in civil war contexts, with qualitative analysis of the Angolan and Mozambican civil wars. In this episode I read my article 'Competition as Catalyst: Beyond Racing on Tranter's Round' which was recently published in Like The Wind magazine #42. Tranter's round is a 60km round in the Lochaber hills, and my favourite round. I held the record for several years until Jack Kuenzle arrived from the USA and shaved around 15 minutes off in summer 2022. It may come as no surprise that I was keen to try and get the record back, which I did on 1st June this year.Myself and Jack have had an interesting friendship-rivalry since meeting in 2022, with him going on to gain the Bob Graham round record, and us meeting and skiing together in winter 2024. We also raced at Trofeo Kima in August, but that's for another discussion - next episode! For a detailed discussion about Jack's Tranter's record in 2022, listen to episode 21.My Tranter's run was one of my all time best days out, particularly in the latter stages, where I experienced a rare and near euphoric mind state. I highly value the way that running hard in the mountains can at times produce these special experiences.

We Came In Like The Wind by Andrea FahseltBook synopsis: All people are individuals with their own thoughts, ideas, and dreams. What we share are feelings-How we process them and deal with their effect. Even though our situations may differ and circumstances may have different outcomes, we all share the same emotion, love, and passion. The way we miss someone, the heartbreak of loss. They are universal that everyone can understand. Each poem I write is real, raw human emotion. The reader will be able to take my experiences and relate them to his/her own experiences.Andrea Fahselt was born and raised in a small town in Ontario Canada. Growing up she was surrounded by a tight knit community with a small family. Her live affair with writing began at an early age when she was asked to write a short story at age 8. It became enjoyable hobby and a creative outlet. Her inspirations came from classic poetry she would collect such as Poe and the Brontë sisters. We came in like the wind is a collection she had been writing for over 10 years. It soon became a book and was published in 2019. Andrea continued writing throughout the pandemic and quickly wrote another book, Full moon survivor that was published in January of 2024.https://www.amazon.com/Came-Like-Wind-Andrea-Fahselt/dp/1639458107/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&dib_tag=se&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.FPrhJ3pv5sgd8b52WGD_60FzvnFcjHpJMsQCOumiBwI.EvcLt8cVuawQrjZOJM1Sr7Sp7JzO9qeA-3rQcxSbwBk&qid=1708956803&sr=1-2http://www.LettraPress.com   http://www.bluefunkbroadcasting.com/root/twia/53024lpr1.mp3

This week, I sat down with my good friend and two-time podcast guest Simon Freeman, the co-founder, editor, and publisher of my favorite running magazine, Like The Wind, which just celebrated its ninth birthday. For the past couple issues of LtW, Simon and I have had a conversation about a particular topic in running, which he recorded, transcribed, and published an excerpt of in the magazine. We did the same for Issue #34, which comes out on March 1, and decided to publish the entire audio conversation—which is what you're about to listen to—as a podcast to complement the excerpt that ends up in the magazine. In this episode, Simon and I had a great exchange about emerging footwear, apparel, and media brands and trends in the running space. It's very much two friends with a lot of industry experience just shooting the shit and speculating about what we're seeing and we hope you enjoy being a fly on the wall for it.
