Takeaways The spring game should not be overanalyzed as it is just one practice among many. Quarterback competition is heating up, with both Julian Sayin and Lincoln Kienholz showing promise. Player performances in the spring game can indicate future potential, but should be taken with caution. The defense needs to improve its run-stopping capabilities to avoid issues in the upcoming season. The NFL Scouting Combine gave us an opportunity to not only watch some of Ohio State's 2025 draft prospects work out for NFL scouts, but to learn more about some of OSU's returning players in the words of last year's Buckeye stars.Garrick Hodge joined Dan Hope in Indianapolis to cover the combine last week, so Garrick joins us on this week's episode of Real Pod Wednesdays as we talk about both the combine performances of Ohio State's 2024 NFL draft prospects and our biggest takeaways from what they had to say about players who could be breakout stars for the 2025 Buckeyes.Former Ohio State running backs Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson and defensive tackles Tyleik Williams and Ty Hamilton helped themselves with their on-field workouts in Indianapolis. Unfortunately, Ohio State will likely be without third-year sophomore running back T.C. Caffey this season due to a knee injury, per multiple sources. The Buckeyes have an excellent 1-2 punch at tailback with TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins, but there is a lack of depth behind them. The only other two scholarship RBs on the roster are true freshmen James Peoples and Sam Williams-Dixon. What do we expect out of Peoples and Williams-Dixon this season? Jonah Booker and Dave Biddle discuss that, plus: * If any of the top four wide receivers go down this year, who would be the next man up? Bryson Rodgers? Jayden Ballard? Mylan Graham? * What is JBook's vibe on the upcoming announcements of Vernell Brown III and David Sanders Jr? * Any concerns that one or more of OSU's current 2025 verbal commits could flip? Before covering Ohio State's 17-14 win over Notre Dame last week, Stephen Means and Andrew Gillis stopped to watch five-star wide receiver commit Mylan Graham. So on this Friday episode of Buckeye Talk, the two discuss what they saw or didn't see. Then they wrap things up with a conversation about the future of OSU's wide receiver room which could lose its top four players after the 2023 season leaving room for anyone to claim a starting spot next season. That includes the three commits in the 2024 class the latest highly-rate recruits Brian Hartline has landed. Thanks for listening to Buckeye Talk. Learn more about your ad choices. The summer official visit season is now over, but more BOOMs could still be coming to Ohio State.Ohio State already landed three big BOOMs from in-state prospects over the past week as quarterback Tavien St. Clair committed to the Buckeyes' 2025 class last Wednesday and Glenville teammates Bryce West and Damarion Witten joined Ohio State's 2024 class on Saturday. With Eleven Warriors recruiting reporter Garrick Hodge filling in for Griffin Strom on this week's episode of Real Pod Wednesdays, we start the discussion by talking about each of those three commitments and why they were all priority targets for Ohio State. Then, we predict who will join West, Witten and Ohio State's other 14 commits in the 2024 class by playing another round of “In or Out” with the Buckeyes' top 18 remaining targets in the class. A brief summary of our predictions for each player, with more rationale for each of our picks in the podcast:Player | Garrick | DanCB AARON SCOTT JR. | IN | OUTS KJ BOLDEN | IN | INDE EDDRICK HOUSTON | IN | INDE DYLAN STEWART | IN | INS PEYTON WOODYARD | OUT | OUTCB KOBE BLACK | OUT | OUTCB MILES LOCKHART | IN | INLB KYNGSTONN VILIAMU-ASA | IN | INDT JUSTIN SCOTT | OUT | OUTDT JAYDEN JACKSON | OUT | INDE MARQUISE LIGHTFOOT | IN | INDE NIGEL SMITH | OUT | OUTOT BRANDON BAKER | OUT | OUTOT GUERBY LAMBERT | OUT | OUTOL DANIEL CRUZ | OUT | OUTWR JEREMIAH MCCLELLAN | IN | INWR ELIJAH MOORE | OUT | OUTWR JOSHISA TRADER | OUT | OUTLater in the show, we also talk about a few of the players who impressed us most across Ohio State's six high school football camps, our expectations for Brice Sensabaugh with the Utah Jazz and our thoughts on who did and didn't make Ohio State's Four Kings at linebacker. The full rundown: 0:47: Tavien St. Clair's commitment a prime example of how quickly things can change in recruiting 3:52: Ohio State will continue to recruit Ryan Montgomery, but he'll probably end up elsewhere 7:13: Buckeyes took St. Clair because of his potential – and because they knew he wanted in 15:53: Bryce West and Damaron Witten were always likely Buckeyes, but closing the deal matters 19:43: Vince Marrow's “groan man” tweet was not a good look for Kentucky 21:16: Witten's potential as a pass-catcher is obvious, but will he be a true tight end? 28:14: The race to land Aaron Scott Jr. remains too close to call between OSU and Michigan 31:18: Ohio State looks well-positioned with KJ Bolden, Eddrick Houston and Dylan Stewart 36:40: A Peyton Woodyard flip from Georgia to Ohio State looks less likely than it once did 37:56: Ohio State has gained ground with Kobe Black, but he'll still be tough to pull out of Texas 39:26: Miles Lockhart, Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa trending toward OSU after visiting this past weekend 42:05: Chances of landing Justin Scott appear to be improving, but his recruitment is far from over 43:45: Jayden Jackson appears to be most likely DT commit, but he's not an Ohio State lock 45:26: Marquise Lightfoot is likely in at defensive end, which could leave Nigel Smith out 46:44: Top remaining offensive line targets could all end up elsewhere 50:10: Ohio State still in a good spot with Jeremiah McClellan, but Elijah Moore could be trending away 52:42: Buckeyes not out of the race for Joshisa Trader, but they have to get him back on campus first 53:51: Mylan Graham, Devin Sanchez, Jordon Davison among biggest stars of camp season 59:13: Brice Sensabaugh went around where we thought he'd go, though not a team we expected 1:00:44: Just establishing himself in the rotation will be Sensabaugh's top objective for year one 1:03:06: Tom Cousineau should have been one of the Four Kings at linebacker

The Big Ten's new scheduling model should help Ohio State, but it might make for a less entertaining regular season.Following last week's announcement that the Big Ten will go divisionless and that Michigan will be Ohio State's only protected annual opponent beginning in 2024, we spend the majority of this week's episode of Real Pod Wednesdays discussing what we like and what we don't like about the Big Ten's new scheduling model and why it should give Ohio State an easier path to both the Big Ten Championship Game and the College Football Playoff going forward.Later in the show, we talk about the latest developments in Ohio State football recruiting after two weekends of official visits and the first two high school football camps of the month. We wrap up the show by discussing the latest developments surrounding Ohio State men's basketball, including what Griffin learned from attending last week's high school team camp, what former NBA assistant Brandon Bailey will add to Ohio State's coaching staff and the likely nail in the coffin for Ohio State ever playing another game in St. John Arena. The rundown: 1:18: We think Ohio State vs. Penn State should be a protected rivalry, but OSU seems happy that it isn't 11:05: Ohio State will be expected to make every CFP, Big Ten Championship Game going forward 15:15: Ohio State will have only one marquee Big Ten home game in both 2024 and 2025 17:13: Big Ten prioritizes getting more teams into CFP over more big regular-season matchups 20:18: Everybody playing everybody at least once every two years will be a welcome change 25:25: All of this could change with further expansion, which is why it's only a two-year model for now 28:19: Ohio State playing Michigan twice (or even three times) in one season is only a matter of time 37:51: Like it or not, college football is about to become even more of a playoff-driven sport 39:51: Chris Henry Jr., Mylan Graham, Dorian Brew among early standouts of camp season 46:39: Ohio State hoping Jaylen McClain will start a run of defensive commitments in 2024 class 50:48: Ohio State trending up with several defensive linemen including five-star DE Eddrick Houston 53:20: Colin White, Nikola Bundalo and King Kendrick among notable prospects at basketball team camp 57:09: Brandon Bailey can help Chris Holtmann with in-game coaching, basketball schematics 1:00:50: The dream of more Ohio State basketball games in St. John Arena is dead

This week's Real Pod Wednesdays is all about recruiting as Garrick Hodge fills in as co-host for this week's episode. With Griffin Strom on vacation, Garrick joins Dan Hope for nearly an hour's worth of conversation about Ohio State's recruiting efforts in the 2024 and 2025 recruiting classes. It's an apropos time for Garrick to join the show, as both Dan and Garrick were at the Under Armour Next camp on Sunday and the start of official visit season is just a few weeks away.A lot has changed since Garrick's last appearance on RPW in March, when Ohio State had just four commits in the 2024 class. The Buckeyes have 13 commits now and are ranked second in the 2024 rankings, giving Ohio State fans plenty to feel good about on the recruiting front. Michigan is the one team ranked ahead of Ohio State, however, so we spend some time evaluating to what extent the Buckeyes should be worried about the Wolverines' recruiting momentum. We also discuss our biggest takeaways from attending Sunday's camp, including impressive performances by Ohio State commits Garrett Stover, Mylan Graham and Sam Williams-Dixon, how Bryce Underwood and Ryan Montgomery continued to solidify themselves as Ohio State's top two quarterbacks in the 2025 class and how Ohio State can benefit from a surge in talent in its own backyard. Then, we play a game of “In or Out” with 16 of the Buckeyes' top remaining targets in the 2024 class: cornerbacks Bryce West and Aaron Scott, safeties KJ Bolden, Peyton Woodyard and Reggie Powers, linebackers Sammy Brown and Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asu, defensive ends Dylan Stewart, Eddrick Houston and Nigel Smith, defensive tackle Justin Scott, offensive tackle Brandon Baker, guard Jordan Seaton, tight end Damarion Witten and wide receivers Jeremiah McClellan and Joshisa Trader. Finally, we shift gears to a bit of Ohio State basketball talk to discuss the two dominoes that fell last week to likely set the Buckeyes' 2023-24 roster – the addition of Penn State transfer Evan Mahaffey and Bronny James' commitment to USC – and share our thoughts on whether that roster is good enough for Chris Holtmann's squad to make a long-awaited breakthrough. The full rundown for this week's episode: 1:19: Garrick told us not to panic about only four commits in March, and he was right 3:02: But business needs to pick up in defensive recruiting 5:10: Michigan's improved recruiting makes its emergence as a championship contender more sustainable 7:19: Jordan Marshall is UM's only true recruiting win over OSU, but Wolverines remain aggressive in Ohio 12:50: Garrett Stover, Mylan Graham and Sam Williams-Dixon stand out at Under Armour Next camp 16:08: Xavier Johnson's role this year could lay blueprint for Williams-Dixon's role at Ohio State 20:43: Deontae and Devontae Armstrong, Marc Nave Jr. are O-line projects with promise 24:21: Ryan Montgomery is an OSU-caliber QB, but Bryce Underwood is too talented not to pursue 32:11: Jamison Kitna, Tavien St. Clair give Ohio State additional in-state QB options in 2025 class 35:51: Bo Jackson shows why he's a top target for Ohio State in the 2025 class 37:41: Sunday's camp showed there's no shortage of top talent in the Midwest right now 39:28: “In or Out” predictions for 16 of Ohio State's top remaining targets in the 2024 class 54:18: Edwin Spillman, Miles Lockhart, Zabien Brown, Jayden Jackson among other potential commits 55:28: Bronny James was probably never coming to Ohio State, but it would have been fun to watch 58:35: Which much-hyped prospect will have the better career: Arch Manning or Bronny James? 1:00:30: Ohio State basketball should be better than last year, but the Sweet 16 still looks like a stretch

Welcome to a new episode of Land-Grant Holy Land's I-70 podcast. On this show, we talk about all things Big Ten football and basketball. After every week of action, we will catch you up on all the conference's games and look ahead at the matchups, storylines, and players you should be paying attention to next week. My name is Jordan Williams, and I am joined by my co-host Dante Morgan. March and the first two weeks have brought significant recruiting wins for Ohio State and Michigan. Over the last month, Michigan has landed four recruits including two from Ohio and a five-star quarterback. Jordan Marshall, the no. 91-ranked recruit in the 2024 class, committed to Michigan making him the first top 100 recruits in the state of Ohio to commit to Michigan since 2013. Michigan followed this up by landing a low-rated Ohio offensive tackle and finally secured the commitment of five-star quarterback Jadyn Davis who has flirted with a Michigan commitment for almost a year. After much worry about Michigan passing Ohio State in recruiting the Buckeyes started heating up landing five-star wide receiver and no. 27 ranked Mylan Graham, no. 69 overall running back James Peoples, and no. 84 overall quarterback Air Noland.  Jordan and Dante discuss the recent run of recruiting by these two programs and consider if the Twitterverse is overreacting to the last month in recruiting. The guys agree that Ohio State is not dead just because Michigan landed a highly-rated running back. Michigan has improved its recruiting so far this class but it does not reflect on Ohio State more so a reflection of Michigan's recent success and commitment to recruiting. Recruiting is the lifeblood of a program but NFL draft success is what keeps recruits interested in your program. The Big Ten has twenty-two players in The Athletics consensus top 100, twenty-five if you include USC and UCLA. There is a major flaw in the ranking as two star players were left out of the top 100.  Lastly, the guys talk a little NBA! The 2023 Basketball Hall of Fame class is one of the best collections of talent! On today's episode of “Buck Off with Christopher Renne,” I'm joined by Jordan Williams to to talk about the ridiculous outlook of Ohio State's recruiting class and the ascension of one man into the realm of the Gods. We start the show with a discussion about the tight end position and why this might be the most sneaky elite unit on the team. Our talk gets into Ryan Day's love for all things 11/12-personnel, Jordan's four wide receiver dream, and why this year might be the year the 37 catch total falls. With all this talk, the guys announce the official “Year of the Tight End” After that, our discussion turns to the recruiting front, and why Brian Hartline's run of recruits – most recently 5-star Mylan Graham – has us all numb to what he is actually accomplishing. The talk continues into a a dialogue about Hartline's white receiver competitiveness and growing career aspirations in the coaching profession. To close out the recruiting talk the guys get into a the commitment of Air Noland and why he might be the most exciting quarterback prospect of the class (hint: he's left-handed and puts up stats). Then they read the 247Sports Ohio State crystal ball list on air, and discuss how Ohio State's recruiting might get super ridiculous. After that we get into out recruiting segment, our chitchat moves to the running back room. The excitement for Treveyon Henderson needs to start rising, and the health of this room can truly take the team to the next level.
