There comes a moment… when the dust rises behind you, the horizon stretches before you, and you hear that quiet whisper: It's time to move. The old dusty trail. It isn't just a phrase from Westerns or a cowboy's farewell. It's a picture of life — raw, rugged, and real. It's the road of faith, carved by those who've walked before us, marked by both struggle and hope. And now, it's our turn. To step out. To walk where the path is not always clear, where the ground is uneven, and where every step forward requires trust. Because following Jesus has never been about standing still. It's motion. It's risk. It's obedience in the face of the unknown. It's a journey that costs us something — but leads us to everything. So today, as we begin Week One of The Ol' Dusty Trail, I invite you to imagine the weight of your boots on that dirt road, the sun setting low, the Spirit calling you onward. This is no ordinary trail — this is the path of discipleship. A trail that demands faith, courage, and a heart willing to follow. The question is simple… Will you take the first step? This is week 1 of the Ol Dusty Trail Series, Titled Ol' Dusty Trial.

In the rarefied world of smash pop singles, there are No. 1s—and there are No. 1 debuts. Entering Billboard's Hot 100 at the top is one of the hardest tricks in music. In fact, it wasn't possible in the U.S. until 1995. That's when the record labels hacked the Hot 100 and figured out how to send new singles straight into the chart penthouse. But scoring a No. 1 in Week One doesn't mean it's built to last. For every enduring hit like “Fantasy,” “Shake It Off” or “Hello,” there are plenty of one-off oddities, coronation pabulum from American Idol finalists, and even a few missteps from chart luminaries. Within a couple of years these fast-breaking hits may be forgotten—never to be spun on the radio or streamed on Spotify. Join Chris Molanphy as he explores the chart calculus, superfan interventions, and fluky conditions that create a perfect storm of pop-chart insta-success. This week's episode of the Gridiron Gal's Podcast has it all, including NEW THEME MUSIC! —Micah Parsons shipped off to Green Bay (Chels admits she was WRONG, alert the media), the Cowboys losing to the Eagles but somehow looking good while doing it, and Jalen Carter spitting on Dak Prescott like we're back in middle school. Meanwhile in Baltimore, the Ravens handed the Bills a comeback win after leading comfortably, leaving us to ask why teams keep forgetting how to close out games. We also hand out Week One superlatives—Bills to the Super Bowl? Lions back to being losers? Tua already finished?—before Reeta fires off her Week Two picks and we crown the Patriots-Dolphins the Tubi Game of the Week. College football wasn't much better, but Michigan and Oklahoma gave us something, Florida fell apart against USF, and yes, there was another spitting incident. Join us for all the chaos, one-liners, and hot takes and volcano victims! Stick around to the end to listen to our new theme song in its entirety !

Football Americans! We've so much to get to this episode: Lamar v Allen! The long kicks! Jalen Carter's spit! The sad, sad Dolphins. And we've got the right father and son duo to tell you all about it with Greg and Chris Cote from the Dan LeBatard show. Plus, we've bring in Geoff Schwartz to explain why he fell asleep and missed what could be the best game of the season. The Super Fuentes Brothers provide knee jerk reactions to Week One from Miami, and Newsman Bradley presents Aaron Rodgers unfiltered from New York. Hyperbolic, sure. Satisfying? Of course. Football is back, America, and here to cover it is Football America! **That said. Before you hit play we gotta protect our guy, Pittsburgh Hero Ryan Clark. A lot of people out there chose to get up on Mount Pious about Clark saying Tom Brady and Drew Brees weren't generational talents. They aren't. Neither guy was a measurable physical freak. Y'see the NFL's got two basic types of QBs. 1. Specimens like Josh Allen, Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, even Jeff George. These guys can evolve into gunslingers like John Elway, Brett Favre and Ben Roethlisberger and take you to the top of Mount Lombardi. 2. Assassins like Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, and Joe Montana. They've been marginalized with the name ‘game manager' but they're calculated and lethally accurate. Big game trophy hunters. That's why I call 'em ASSASSINS. In superhero terms, it's like Superman v Batman. You'd of course like the measurables of the son of Jor-el over Bruce Wayne, but that doesn't mean Batman can't win thanks to being more clever. So, descend Mount Pious and just admit Brady and Brees are the Keaton and Bale Batmans (batmen?) of the NFL. And be good with it. As for serial killers, well... Mike Tomlin can go ahead explain that one. We're stumped. Now, start the show! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

(1:49:22-1:59:51) – Jake plays a soundbite from Shane Steichen that he thinks tells a lot about why Daniel Jones was named the starting quarterback and why it goes way beyond the performance on the field. (1:59:51-2:07:56) – Today’s show closes out with Jake posing a question to Eddie and Caleb who’s shadowing in studio, then JMV joins to recap last night’s Monday night football game and preview his show!Support the show: https://1075thefan.com/query-and-company/See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
