Notre Dame's national championship hopes hinge on at least one explosive wide receiver stepping up from a loaded group, including Micah Gilbert, Cam Williams, Elijah Burris, Quincy Porter, and Mylan Graham. Can any of these dynamic athletes become the reliable playmaker CJ Carr needs in key red zone and third-down moments? Brian Smith analyzes the Irish receiver room's strengths, potential lineup combinations, and the importance of route running, hands, and consistency at the Power Four level. Key topics include whether Notre Dame will employ more four-wide-out sets, how red zone threats like Porter and Graham can shift the offense, and which new faces might surprise this season. With a deep, athletic roster, will refined chemistry and leadership be the missing ingredient for Notre Dame to capture the 2026 national title? Jamie Uyeyama and Greg Flammang provide an instant reaction to Notre Dame's 49-10 victory over the previously 7-1 Navy Midshipmen and move to the 7-2 on the season with a ranked opponent next up on the road at Pitt. The Irish offense dazzled early and often with CJ Carr connecting on long passes to Malachi Fields and Jeremiyah Love impossibly scoring on a 48 yard touchdown run when he landed on top of multiple defenders. The Notre Dame defense held the Middies to less than 250 yards of offense and 4.1 yards per play as they couldn't get much going on the ground beyond their quarterback run game and the air attack completely shut down, only tallying 22 yards through the air.
Greg Flammang of Irish Sports Daily goes live for his weekly morning after show to discuss Notre Dame's 49-10 victory over Navy and a ranked matchup with Pittsburgh coming next week. He answers questions from live viewers in the chat on a vast array of topics including quarterback play, CJ Carr, the running back room beyond 2025, the improvement of the defense, Notre Dame's standing in college football, and more.

It was a stellar performance by the defense for the third game in a row, in what Marcus Freeman called their best game to date by that unit.
