I hope you enjoy our first BONUS episode – Tori Stories: The White Envelope! As you know, I love a good story and each year when my mama sent our Christmas cards, she always included a meaningful story with it. I remember at a young age people coming up to her sometimes with tears in their eyes saying how the story had impacted them. Once Josh and I got married, I knew I wanted to continue this tradition when I sent my own family Christmas cards. This story is on our Christmas card this year and it made such a mark on me, I knew I had to share it to each of you. Share it with your family and friends as we head into Christmas week!Talk with Tori Instagram: @toriclosejonesE-mail us: talkwithtoripodcast@gmail.com

Ever since then Josh has been hooked and is beyond passionate about everything to do with Natural Bodybuilding and continually strives to educate himself and others on the most up to date studies relating to strength training, progression/periodization and nutrition. Josh is a very strong believer in researched information, studies and data to back the decisions he makes leading to a very analytical approach to training and nutrition. This might come from the fact that he has also completed a degree in Chemical and Food Engineering… Ever since Josh’s first season in 2012 he has continually been learning and applying different training and nutrition strategy’s so he is able to accompany the data he finds with anecdotal evidence based on himself. He has also along the way accrued numerous Natural Bodybuilding titles, the most recent one being crowned the 2015 Junior Natural Olympia Winner as well as becoming the youngest ever to win the Overall Mr. Queensland title and obtaining his Pro Card in the sport of Natural Bodybuilding. Today’s guest is Josh Visser, a proponent of education and play within an active learning environment. Josh and Kris talk about his school, De Kinderen Huis, and its mission to provide growth through movement and play-based discovery. He also talks about his cool hobbies including his impressive Rubik’s Cube and school bus renovating skills, his process for getting inspired and inspiring his team around him, and how he saw and decided to pursue a child-care opportunity. Josh and his team have set themselves apart in the market and built a vibrant and abundant school with over 50 children enrolled in less than five months.   Key Takeaways: [4:23] Kris will be the keynote speaker and host of a breakout workshop at the Georgia Child Care Association Fall Owners & Directors Conference on September 27. [6:45] Josh shares his journey from a high school math teacher to a business owner. He came full circle a few months ago when he combined his experience in education and knowledge in sales and corporate business. [8:35] Josh decided to go forth and embark on his business venture when witnessing the lack of child care in his area. He had the available space and declared that within one month he would open a child-care facility. [11:35] Josh makes great use of his spare time and loves to stay busy. He also owns and runs a longtime DJ business, flips houses, and is currently converting a school bus into an RV with his children. [16:22] It’s important to make connections with people both personally and professionally that have done before what you are wanting to do, so they can help guide you down the path. [16:57] De Kinderen Huis is a wide-open 25,000-square-foot facility and 17,000 square feet of that is an indoor turf football field. They utilize this for their classroom centers so the children can be active and provides a way for him and his team to stand out in the community. [19:57] Once Josh got his vision in place, it was time to build his team. It wasn’t all smooth sailing and luckily Josh had the right support and knowledge to make the right choices to overcome the challenges. [27:01] Josh’s licensed capacity is 90. In just a few months they went from 8 to 45 kids. Acquiring them was a mix of word of mouth, personal connections, and marketing. Josh’s goal is to be at 80% capacity by the end of October, so stay tuned! Open houses, Facebook ads, and email marketing were all tactics that served them to meet and connect with community members who also may be potential families. Josh finds that he is able to target those in the community with a big pull, they will be the best and biggest advocates and can also provide valuable feedback. [32:38] Kris and Josh talk pricing, and how even one dollar makes a difference when it comes to their pricing strategies. Stories of Self-Healing with Nurse Kristin

Born and raised on the bayou in Southern Louisiana, Josh grew up with a lethal relationship to food that caused him to become over 400 pounds.    It was when the New Orleans Saints won the Super Bowl in 2010, that Josh realized the impossible is possible. This forever changed Josh. Something that he believed could never and would never happen, happened.    Soon after this, Josh changed his way of thinking and let go of what he thought was normal. Josh went to college, got an education, started working out, started losing weight, and then started running.   Once Josh started running, he stopped caring so much about the number on the scale and started caring about optimal health and fitness. And it was those things that became his biggest driver.   Josh soon decided to go to the "next level" and decided to really clean up his diet. Josh cut out all meat and dairy and started running marathons and eventually has now worked his way up to running Ultra Marathons.    Josh has completely changed his lifestyle and has been inspiring others along the way. He now speaks on stages about health and fitness and really is a great example of how no matter where you are in life or what you perceive your limitation to be, you can overcome those obstacles and truly create something great.
