The Locked On Utes Podcast for August 30/31, 2021 Game week is here and Bryan and Jake debut a new style of podcast that should be a Monday staple this season as they do a reaction show to what we learned from Kyle Whittingham's weekly press conference on Monday mornings. The guys started off the show with Coach Whit's thoughts on the QB battle and Charlie Brewer being QB1 Attention then shifted to the position group with the most question marks going in the Weber State game on Thursday, that being the offensive line, as Coach Whittingham says as many as three starters' status is uncertain with Thursday on the horizon, but he is also confident in the depth of the unit to make up for any losses Finally, the show wrapped up with Coach Whit's assessment of what the Utes will be facing when they welcome Jay Hill's Wildcats to Rice-Eccles Stadium Thursday evening. He shared a thought on Weber star running back Josh Davis as well as if the familiarity between the two staffs will have any bearing on the game Support Us By Supporting Our Locked On Podcast Network Sponsors! In another addition of “Multifamily Mentor Horror stories”, we're talking with another previous podcast guest, Josh Davis. It's Reid's birthday and he seems focused on the buffets, since returning from Vegas. On this week's show, Tim Baines, who covers the Redblacks joins Reid to chat about the CFL. Also, Will from the Argos Fancast also dropping in to talk to Reid about Canadian style football, eh. Also, an appearance from Josh Davis, to cover the latest with the ELF happening across the pond.
Today on the Rarified Heir Podcast, we are talking to brothers Josh Davis and Tony Davis, whose father Jerry Davis was a five-time Emmy nominee and mother actress turned Psychologist, Beryl Davis were a second family to our host, Josh Mills growing up in the 1970s. Jerry came to Los Angeles from Brooklyn where he was then writing for the New Yorker and became a fixture behind the scenes as writer/producer on TV shows such as The Odd Couple, That Girl and Bewitched. And if you listened an earlier episode of the podcast with Andy Marx who confirmed to us that it Jerry who introduced Groucho Marx to later-years-companion Erin Fleming. We also learn it was Jerry was likely the man who introduced Ronald Reagan and a then little-known actress named Nancy Davis. All this makes perfect sense and even sounds like something from one of his TV scripts. Jerry was a one-of-a-kind raconteur whose TV credits were slightly more famous than his celebrity filled Gin card games and legendary as his “Hello Jerry” dinners on the town because it took him 20 to 30 minutes to actually sit down at dinner before he made the rounds and said hello to friends, collogues, waiters, bartenders, valet parkers and anyone else in his line of vision. It's a behind's the scenes look growing up Davis with special guest stars, Phil Spector, Eartha Kitt, Tony Bennett and Sydney Sheldon on the Rarified Heir podcast.
