Show Notes Provided by Joe Peluso Securely moored to its berth in the spanking new Space Dock is the USS Mint Condition. Seated in the spacious observation lounge are your hosts, James, Josh, and Joe. And joining them once again for good conversation (and maybe a nip or two of Saurian Brandy) is returning guest, New York Times Best Selling Author--Michael Jan Friedman. The guys settle in for a thorough examination of Star Trek: Picard Season Three. Great character moments, Changelings, The Borg, The Enterprise G (!), and Star Fleet Admirals (consistently fubaring command) are some of the topics discussed. Surprising turns in the Picard narrative and other avenues not taken also enter into the dialogue. The writing process is also examined with insightful advice proffered by Michael to avoid the dreaded "writer's block". And as the hour grows late and the wait staff in the observation lounge prepares for a shift change, Michael treats us to a preview of his upcoming ventures. Crazy 8 Press is still humming along, Phenomenons Three is on the horizon, a prose novel continuing the adventures of Robinson Dark will have Empty Space salivating, and the kicker?--a Kickstarter campaign for a non-collectible card game! Now all that's left is for the boys to do is find their way to the nearest Transporter Station so they can all get back to work. Waiter #1 "What do you suppose this green paper the one called Joe left behind is?" Waiter #2 "Who knows! And who still carries around paper?"
Seventy-eight years after the fateful maiden voyage of the USS Enterprise-B - a trip that saw the disappearance of the legendary Captain James T. Kirk into a mysterious energy band known as "The Nexus" - Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the U.S.S. Enterprise-D crew must deal with a renegade scientist, who is destroying entire star systems. Only one man can help Picard stop Soran's scheme, and he has been dead for seventy-eight years.Go on this adventure with your co-hosts, Elysabeth Gwendolyn Belle and Robert Meyer Burnett who talk Trek, review this movie and share a bottle of what we believe MUST be Saurian Brandy, but looks oddly like wine.(Episode #72. Originally aired: September 8, 2020)
My son could have been an Andorian you know. Seriously, when he was first born (and I was there), he was BLUE! Thats right, blue, as in Andorian. He never grew out those antennae though. Whew! So what with the interns and all we thought we would revisit and nice little Mint Julep in the 3rd Degree Byrne History. Tim Elliott and Brian Hughes covered the first issue ofStar Trek: Leonard McCoy, Frontier Doctor four years ago and man, we must have been drinking a little too much Saurian Brandy since then because we just dont remember the discussion. I guess we could go back and listen to it, but with all the interns (3 of them) wanting to talk some Trek, we could not resist. So, we will cover all FOUR issues of the series. Two issues with this episode and we will follow it up with the last two next week 2020 willing (I bet that becomes a popular phrase.). Interns David Thompson, John Hijatt and Kirk Greenfield all have some interesting items to contribute, but I just could not shut up on this one. You would think I would take a Sunday off, but no. Tim chimes in and we cover some new ground that we did not think of back in 2016. So grab that Mint Julep, Saurian Brandy, Slusho mix or that last Pan-Galactic Gargle-Blaster and get a little sloshed with that old country doctor as 3rd Degree Byrne coversStar Trek: Leonard McCoy, Frontier Doctor. .
