When we pray for our loved ones, pray for boldness in Christ!
The early church was moved by the same Spirit and so they had the same love and care for each other. And because they were one in spirit, they regarded people as more important than things. “Two of the effects of believing in Jesus are that the heart is loosened in relationship to things and tightened in its relationship to people. Being a Christian means being changed from the inside out so that you fall in love with people and fall out of love with things." - John Piper God creates unity by the Gospel. Sacrificial love is generated in the heart of the Christian by salvation through Christ. With great power they were preaching about the resurrection of Jesus and it resulted in great grace upon the church. The Gospel unites us, gives us genuine love for one another, and then sends us out to share that love with the world.

In Acts, Luke is showing that God dwells within His people, and He gets His people moving. But conflict and danger didn’t cause them to wring their hands in worry, it moved them to pray. They drew great confidence and boldness from the sovereignty of God. Part of the early church’s theology was that persecution had purpose. They didn’t pray for comfort in affliction, but that God’s will would be done above anything else. 1. Their prayer is rooted in God’s character. 2. Their prayer is rooted in Scripture. 3. Their prayer is focused on the mission, not their comfort.

At particular seasons in our lives, we may feel that we are ready to move on or move up. We think we are ready for that promotion or that varsity team only be told by another that it is our time to wait. This isn't a new feeling. Even Jesus' disciples were "sitting on ready" to do His work when He told them to wait for the Holy Spirit. So why are we sometimes asked to wait? When and how are we to carry out the work He has for us?
