It was amazing for me to interview Yvonne and Jason, Lagralane Group. Yvonne Huff Lee Yvonne Huff Lee is co-CEO of Lagralane Group. She is an actor, creative investor, philanthropist and mother to three with her husband and co-founder Jason Delane Lee. Yvonne is inspired by the female experience and seeks to elevate both female-driven narratives and women’s perspectives. Through Lagralane, Yvonne has breathed life into a diverse slate of films. Personal credits include executive producing two 2017 SXSW premiere documentaries (SERVED LIKE A GIRL and THE BLOOD IS AT THE DOORSTEP) and associate producing 2017 Sundance premiere documentary UNREST which was shortlisted for an Academy Award. Yvonne also starred alongside Harry Dean Stanton in his final film LUCKY, which was distributed by Magnolia Pictures in 2017. In 2018 Yvonne associate produced Sundance premiere narrative NIGHT COMES ON and co-executive produced Sundance premiere documentary THIS IS HOME. Jason Delane Lee Jason Delane Lee is co-CEO of the Lagralane Group. Additionally, he is an actor, philanthropist and father to three with his wife and co-founder, Yvonne Huff Lee. Jason co-executive produced the 2018 Academy Award winning documentary ICARUS, executive produced the documentaries SERVED LIKE A GIRL, UNREST, THE BLOOD IS AT THE DOORSTEP and a narrative feature LUCKY, all of which screened at SXSW 2017. Jason is a member of SAG/AFTRA and AEA and is a life member of the Actors Studio. He is also a founding member of the Los Angeles-based Lower Depth Theatre Ensemble. Jason currently serves as a board member of the Geffen Theater, Classical Theatre of Harlem and the Chicago Media Project. Host Paul Booth interviews Director Lysa Heslov about her film Served like a Girl (this was Heslov's Directorial Debut). SERVED LIKE A GIRL, Lysa Heslov's debut feature-documentary, which profiles a group of brave women, all military veterans, who compete for the title of Ms. Veteran America. The competition's proceeds all go to benefit homeless women veterans, whose numbers, currently at 55,000, are growing in this country. The film follows seven women, in particular – Andrea, Denyse, Hope, Jas, Marissa, Nichole and Rachel - each of whom has her own story to tell as they transition from soldier to civilian.  Currently women veterans are the fastest-growing population of homeless veterans in the U.S. Many of them are single mothers with dependent children. We observe Veteran's Day this weekend, and our pal Pat Benatar is part of a really incredible documentary. It's called, "Served Like A Girl" and it's all about female soldiers and the issues they face when they return from duty.

The new documentary, Served Like A Girl, is an eye-opening look at the incredible contributions and challenges experienced by female members of the military, including homelessness and inadequate family support services. After confronting these obstacles firsthand, Major Jaspen Boothe took action to support others in her situation. The documentary chronicles one component of Major Boothe's awareness and advocacy mission, the Ms Veteran America competition. Joining the pod, we have Major Boothe and the film's director, Lysa Heslov.
