FIVE EASY PIECES TO SAFEGUARD DEMOCRACY, EMPATHY & THEIR ROOTS IN THE 9TH AMENDMENT For GREEP Zoom #236, our beloved Poet Laureate MIMI GERMAN opens with her usual brilliant verse from “Where Grasses Bend." We commemorate the passing of the great RICHARD LEE who founded Oaksterdam University, devoted to the cultivation of cannabis / marijuana & its immeasurable power. We then get updated by "America's Mayor” HEIDI LAMPERT about the battle for democracy in Waldport, Oregon, the Mayberry of the deep west coast. Long-time activist MICKI LEADER shares her concerns about whether the 2026 election will be cancelled. From radio host LYNN FEINERMAN we hear charges about so-called “Christians” who so deeply love to trash the preachings of the actual Christ. Grassroots campaigner DOROTHY REIK warns that people with no human feelings are taking over the world with the view that the non-rich are a “burden.” Legendary journalist DAVID SALTMAN tells of a network cohort who received a kidney from an anonymous donor whom he then honored with a legendary poem. Our great friend JULIE LEVINE, who moved from lush, liberal Topanga to a MAGA stronghold in the Sequoia Forest, gives us a report about compassion and empathy in the deep right. From deepest Arizona and the heart of how elections must be conducted, JOHN BRAKEY and KEN BENNETT brief us on the five core foundational pillars we must have to protect our democracy. As John Bolton is being raided by the Trump Gestapo, STEVE CARUSO reminds us that Bolton was part of the Brooks Brothers Mob that killed the S. Florida vote count in Bush v Gore 2000. Co-Host MIKE HERSH honors John Brakey's powerful crusade to preserve the possibility of a fair, reliable outcome in 2026. Now faced with National Guard invasions of states that don't want them, and with forcible Gerrymandering ordered by a US President, ATTORNEY SAM SALTMAN takes us through the 9th & 10th Amendments. In a lively dialogue, we hear still more from Steve Caruso, Dorothy Reik, ALEX WILLIAMS and others. From BETTY KISSILOVE we hear about the fight over Natural Rights. From CARMEN RODRIGUEZ we dig deeper into America's spiritual roots, Christian or otherwise. We will return after Labor Day, on September 8, to revisit empathy, compassion, election protection, clean energy & the inevitable light at the end of the seemingly bottomless Trump Tunnel.

What if I told you that even legendary actresses, women who've been honored by the Queen, won Oscars, and are considered living legends, still talk about fear as a constant companion? In 2018, a documentary called "Nothing Like a Dame," featuring Dame Judi Dench, Dame Maggie Smith, Dame Eileen Atkins, and Dame Joan Plowright, revealed something profound: even the most accomplished performers in the world still grapple with fear, insecurity, and limiting beliefs. Today, I'm sharing what this film and these legendary women have to teach us about transforming fear into power and claiming the stages you're meant for. In this episode, we'll explore: Why fear doesn't disappear when you become successful, and why that's actually a good thing How these women's experiences relate to public speaking and leadership The difference between those who let fear stop them and those who transform fear into fuel Why there's no mold for what a speaker should be and how you can use your voice powerfully, not despite your imperfections, but because of your humanity More from Tricia Fast-track your path to big stages inside The Big Talk Accelerator Join me LIVE for my Free Monthly Workshop Explore my content and follow me on YouTube Follow me on Instagram Connect with me on Facebook Connect with me on LinkedIn Visit my website at TriciaBrouk.com

⬥GUEST⬥Andy Ellis, Legendary CISO [https://howtociso.com] | On LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/csoandy/⬥HOST⬥Host: Sean Martin, Co-Founder at ITSPmagazine and Host of Redefining CyberSecurity Podcast | On LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/imsmartin/ | Website: https://www.seanmartin.com⬥EPISODE NOTES⬥In this episode of Redefining CyberSecurity, host Sean Martin speaks with Andy Ellis, former CSO at Akamai and current independent advisor, about the shifting expectations of security leadership in today's SaaS-powered, AI-enabled business environment.Andy highlights that many organizations—especially mid-sized startups—struggle not because they lack resources, but because they don't know how to contextualize what security means to their business goals. Often, security professionals aren't equipped to communicate with executives or boards in a way that builds shared understanding. That's where advisors like Andy step in: not to provide a playbook, but to help translate and align. One of the core ideas discussed is the reframing of security as an enabler rather than a gatekeeper. With businesses built almost entirely on SaaS platforms and outsourced operations, IT and security should no longer be siloed. Andy encourages security teams to “own the stack”—not just protect it—by integrating IT management, vendor oversight, and security into a single discipline. The conversation also explores how AI and automation empower employees at every level to “vibe code” their own solutions, shifting innovation away from centralized control. This democratization of tech raises new opportunities—and risks—that security teams must support, not resist. Success comes from guiding, not gatekeeping.Andy shares practical ways CISOs can build influence, including a deceptively simple yet powerful technique: ask every stakeholder what security practice they hate the most and what critical practice is missing. These questions uncover quick wins that earn political capital—critical fuel for driving long-term transformation. From his “First 91 Days” guide for CISOs to his book 1% Leadership, Andy offers not just theory but actionable frameworks for influencing culture, improving retention, and measuring success in ways that matter.Whether you're a CISO, a founder, or an aspiring security leader, this episode will challenge how you think about the role security plays in business—and what it means to lead from the middle.⬥SPONSORS⬥LevelBlue: https://itspm.ag/attcybersecurity-3jdk3ThreatLocker: https://itspm.ag/threatlocker-r974⬥RESOURCES⬥Inspiring Post: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/csoandy_how-to-ciso-the-first-91-days-ugcPost-7330619155353632768-BXQT/Book: “How to CISO: The First 91-Day Guide” by Andy Ellis — https://howtociso.com/library/first-91-days-guide/Book: “1% Leadership: Master the Small Daily Habits that Build Exceptional Teams” — https://www.amazon.com/1-Leadership-Daily-Habits-Exceptional/dp/B0BSV7T2KZ⬥ADDITIONAL INFORMATION⬥✨ More Redefining CyberSecurity Podcast:

Eric Andersen is a legendary Troubadour and singer-songwriter who first came to prominence during the 1960s folk music scene in Greenwich Village and Boston. He was a central figure in that era which included Bob Dylan, Tom Paxton, Phil Ochs and Richard Fariña.Some of his famous early compositions were “Thirsty Boots,” “Violets of Dawn,” and “Close The Door Lightly When You Go”. These songs were picked up by artists like Judy Collins, the Brothers Four, the Kingston Trio, the Blues Project, Sandy Denny & Fairport Convention, and Johnny Cash. Eric's songs have been covered by many artists, including Bob Dylan, Ricky Nelson, Janis Ian, Peter Paul and Mary, the Grateful Dead and Mary Chapin Carpenter. He is the subject of an award-winning 2019 documentary, The Songpoet. And, he has a new album out now called “Dance Of Love And Death”. My featured song is “New Folk Song”, from the album The Queen's Carnival by my band Project Grand Slam. It is a collection of songs that I wrote over the years but never released. A few of them ended up on live albums but most of them were never recorded before. The songs do share a theme. It is about love in all its forms, including love for life itself and love for the planet. The beautiful, difficult and dark aspects of love. I'm very proud of it. In the eleven years it took to make this album I didn't sit still. I did bring out three literary albums, around the works of Byron, Camus and Böll. They were recorded in Germany. At the moment I am working on albums about Lorca and Casanova.”—------------------------------------CONNECT WITH ERIC:www.ericandersen.com____________________ROBERT'S NEWEST ALBUM:“WHAT'S UP!” is Robert's new compilation album. The Ghost Furnace - Episode 128 “The Legendary & Historic Johannes Kelpius w/ Timothy Grieve-Carlson” On this week's episode we talk with author Timothy Grieve-Carlson about Johannes Kelpius. This is a conversation I've been wanting to have since first reading his book “American Aurora: Environment and Apocalypse in the Life of Johannes Kelpius” last year. We look at both the historic and legendary versions of Kelpius and attempt to parse what we can learn from both. Timothy has two upcoming events you all might be interested in. First we will be giving a presentation titled “The Wizard of the Wissahickon: The Life and Legacy of Johannes Kelpius” at the Friends of the Wissahickon at the Wissahickon Valley Park on September 17th at 6pm. Then the Ephrata Cloister Museum, who you can reach out to for details, will host his talk on an early American poltergeist case at 7pm on September 18th. If you have a story you'd like to share, you can find us on YouTube, Instagram or TheGhostFurnacePodcast@gmail.com
