Since Nick and Muriel can't throw their usual holiday party, they figure out a way to have some fun by themselves. Mostly they set up an elaborate cooking game that involves secret recipes, blind folds and a GoPro. Make sure to check out www.instgram.com/hellainyourthirties to see the footage. Follow Ground Shark Coffee Co on Instagram and check out there latest roasts and Merchandise. - Click Here - CLICK HERE to GET their Special Edition Black Belt roast out. Limited Supply so get it while you can. My recommendation is the popular Blue Belt (Medium Roast). Stop buying crap coffee and get on board with Ground Shark Coffee co. If you think those high volume coffee producers care about your coffee, your wrong. Nick and his crew is producing some great tasting roasts out of the Colorado Area. Since Nick is part of the Jiu Jitsu community it is an answer to how he named his roasts. White belt being a light roast and all the way to Brown belt being an Espresso Roast. Not only do they put out some amazing coffee, they have have expanded into the meat rub business with their Game rub, Beef Rub and Pork and Poultry Rub. For only being 2 years in the business, they have nailed down the flavors of how a good cup of coffee should taste.
Joel rambles about 3D printing. Since Nick is pretty new to the world of 3D printing, he has questions about how to get started. Nick thinks that Joel has expertise, so he asks questions about how to get started. Nick asks Joel what he'd do differently in 3D printing and modelling, if he was starting from scratch.Stuff from this episode:SketchUp (Don't use this)TinkerCAD (Good starting point)Fusion 360 (Current hobbyist and professional standard)SolidWorks (For professionals, like mechanical engineers)OpenSCAD (For creating models with code)Prusa MINIPrusa i3 MK3SSlic3rPrusaSlicerCuraSimplify 3D
Since Nick is in the middle of his busiest week of the year, we will not be doing an episode for May 21, 2019, so I decided to record a quick reminder about the zine we will be producing later in the summer. If you would like to contribute to the zine, go to: http://homemadecamera.com/homemade-camera-zine-submission-form/ We are looking for all kinds of homebrewed photographic fun. If you modified it, built it, or hacked it in any way, show us what you did!
Since Nick doesn’t know how to count and mixed up our episode numberings, we decided to give you all a treat with the replacement Episode 9! So, here’s a little throwback to one of our college radio show’s episodes about Women in Comics!
*This is a listener FAVORITE from Season 1. We are using a new format and recording style for Season 3 and beyond. We have kept this episode on the main feed as it was one that the listeners loved.HEATHER IS FANGIRLING!!! In this episode, Heather invites Nick and Jessa from the Getting Off Podcast to discuss everyone’s eye candy serial killer; aka the Lady Killer, Ted Bundy. Although the Nature vs Narcissism Podcast has covered Ted Bundy in the past (Episode 2), we thought it would be fun to discuss Ted with folks who understand and are a part of the criminal justice system. Since Nick and Jessa are defense attorneys, we thought it would be fun to do a crossover episode where they break down the Chi Omega trial and share their expert opinions as well as their personal thoughts on the case as a whole! We have a blast and learn a lot about Jessa’s ‘wayward youth’, as Nick describes it! This episode was a blast and I learned a lot in Part 2; which is over on the Getting Off feed. You will probably learn a lot and may have even acquitted him if you knew what we now know about the case and evidence!! Be sure to check out Frozen Truth as a new season will be airing on June 24th! This week on SaaStr we are celebrating the rise of GainSight with a special feature week dedicated to Gainsight and joining me today we have Gainsight CEO, Nick Mehta. Since Nick has been at the helm of Gainsight, it has experienced a meteoric rise to the top of the world of SaaS having practically created the category of customer success and revolutionising business work processes in doing so. Due to this, Gainsight has raised funding from the likes of Battery Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners. In today's show with Nick we discuss: What were the solutions before Gainsight? Why were these inefficient and what the market opportunity for Gainsight? Why has the power shifted from the hands of the vendor to the hands of the customer? What can vendors to do optimise this shift? Is the proliferation of available tools and the resulting competition not dangerous as there is only so low prices can go? To what extent does Gainsight have a monopoly over the customer success market? How much should startups spend on customer success in the early days? How can one measure that success and return on investment? What does the hiring of a customer success officer look like for Nick? How can we optimise this process? In a round we call the 60 Second Saastr, we also hear: ACV is everything: Explain? Being a specialised CEO: Right or wrong? On again, off again hiring in sales? In this episode, I interview writer, director, theatre producer and broadcaster, Nick Hennegan. Nick is artistic director of the Maverick Theatre Company, founder of the London Literary Pub Crawl and presents of the Literary London Show on Resonance 104.4FM. Since Nick recently gave a very extensive interview on his career to The Zone Show (Episode 141), I wanted to avoid a retread of that ground by focussing more on how he actually goes about his writing. Our conversation covers his plays Henry V - Lion of England, A Ghost of a Chance, PALS and his version of Hamlet, along with a bit of a diversion into Doctor Who and our mutual appreciation of Russell T Davies! Since Nick is hitting the road and moving east, he talks with Bud and Rick about last meals in DFW. The topic was also this week's DFW.com cover story. So, if you only had one day left in the Metroplex, where and what would you eat? Listen up for delicious last meal suggestions. Producer: Nick Dean Learn more about your ad choices. Internet video has come a long way from the postage stamp generic media player to the commercial success it is today. This session looks at this journey, and examines the multitude of online video options available. We will look at content creation (simple single piece, to multi-platform, and user generated), distribution methods and publishing strategies. Then once the video is published, how do you justify it (the ROI), commercialise it (leverage the content) and monetise it through syndication, advertising, sponsorship, or pay-per-view/subscription. There will be real time demos and case studies. Since Nick ran his first live webcast in 2000, he has managed several hundred webcast productions for most of the top corporates, publishers and broadcasters in Australia. Key highlights include Australia’s first live medical operation on the web, the Australia 2020 Summit and World Youth Day. Nick regularly speaks at conferences here and overseas on online video creation and distribution, and is also an avid short film maker, actor and theatre producer. Nick is on the NSW committee of AIMIA - the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association.
