A former defense attorney for Ted Bundy, John Henry Browne, has drawn intriguing parallels between the notorious serial killer's final actions and the charges against Bryan Kohberger, the suspect in the University of Idaho student murders. Browne, who represented Bundy during his trial, pointed out striking similarities in the actions of both men, particularly in the context of state lines, the death penalty, and their method of execution. Browne noted that Bundy, after escaping from a Colorado prison, fled to Florida where he committed more murders, ultimately landing on death row. “Here's some guy who drives 10 miles from a state where there's no death penalty, [from] a state where there's an active mental health defense, to a state where there is no mental health defense, and the death penalty is very active,” Browne told Fox News Digital. “I think it's just fascinating to me. I don't know what to imply from it, but I know the facts are the facts.” Kohberger, accused of killing four University of Idaho students in November 2022, is facing charges in a state with the death penalty, despite being a resident of Washington, where capital punishment is not enforced. He is accused of crossing state lines from Washington to Idaho, a move Browne sees as eerily reminiscent of Bundy's own actions. Both men allegedly carried out their murders in similar circumstances, with Bundy entering the Chi Omega sorority house through a back door before dawn and attacking several sleeping women, and Kohberger allegedly doing the same at a college house. “Like Bundy's Florida State University Chi Omega sorority house rampage, Kohberger is accused of attacking four college students hours before sunrise, entering through a back door while at least some of the victims were sleeping,” Browne explained. Despite the striking similarities, Browne expressed uncertainty about the prosecution's theory regarding Kohberger's motive, which remains largely unknown. “I have no idea what the state's theory is about why Kohberger chose these people in this house to go kill and leave a knife [sheath] that has DNA on it,” he remarked. Browne suggested that the lack of clarity surrounding the motive would be of significant interest to the jury. While Bundy's case eventually became clearer as a struggle for power rather than sex, Browne noted that the motives in Kohberger's case are still unclear. “As the case became clearer and we're dealing with 30, 40, 50 or more deaths, the motives became pretty clear in Ted's case – that it was a power struggle, much more so than sex,” Browne said, adding that many of Bundy's victims were not sexually assaulted. The defense team for Kohberger, led by attorneys Anne Taylor, Jay Logsdon, and Elisa Massoth, has spent over a year aggressively challenging the case against him. This includes filing motions to strike the death penalty, which was rejected by Boise Judge Steven Hippler. Browne suggested that Kohberger's defense team should continue to fight aggressively. “If I were his lawyers, I would start playing offense – a lot,” he said. Browne also weighed in on Kohberger's defense strategy, suggesting that Kohberger may want to waive his right to a jury trial, a tactic that Bundy used in Utah, although it did not work in his favor. “You could waive the jury, and try the case to the judge,” Browne noted. However, he acknowledged that while the tactic could sometimes be beneficial, it would not be an easy decision in a high-profile case like Kohberger's, where potential jurors may already have preconceived notions. Kohberger is accused of the brutal murders of Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin, who were all fatally stabbed in the early hours of Nov. 13, 2022. The suspect's trial is tentatively scheduled to begin in 2025. As Kohberger's defense continues to unfold, Browne's insights into the case offer a unique perspective, drawing on his extensive experience with high-profile criminal cases, including his time representing Bundy. #TedBundy #BryanKohberger #UniversityOfIdahoMurders #CriminalDefense #DeathPenalty #LegalStrategy #TrueCrime Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? I had seen several posts by Galloway on LinkedIn and thought he had a lot to say about wealth, both from the functional and higher vibrational level. And the second thing will be to share some recent learnings about Resilience I've had over the weekend when I attended the Nancy Walton Laurie Leadership Institute of Chi Omega in Memphis, TN.   Topics Covered: Key economic statistics “True advice” research findings Galloway's wealth algebraic equation Emotional security Deep dive into resilience Here are 3 takeaways from our episode:   1.   Despite the challenges we face, the future holds incredible opportunities for those who remain focused, adaptable, and willing to invest in themselves. 2.   Economic security isn't just about how much you earn, but about what you keep and how you use it. 3.   By embracing a mindset of resilience and long-term thinking, we can redefine success and build lives of abundance, free from the anxieties that have weighed down previous generations. Remember, wealth is not just about money—it's about choices. And when you take control of your financial future, you gain the freedom to live on your own terms.”   Mentioned in the Episode:   The Algebra of Wealth, A Simple Formula For Financial Security, Scott Galloway https://profgmedia.com/books/   Ep. 163, Rethinking Grit: Embracing Quit with Nicole Trick Steinbach (Annie Duke's book) https://spotifyanchor-web.app.link/e/ZKkPRCHFOMb   Nicole Trick Steinbach Podcast: Build Your Brave Career https://tricksteinbach.com/bravepodcast/   Galloway's Prof G Podcast https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-prof-g-pod-with-scott-galloway/id1498802610    Ep. 20, Sheryl Crow, Leading with Vulnerability https://spotifyanchor-web.app.link/e/89vpHlyFOMb   Ep. 108, Unlocking Happiness : Arthur Brooks and Oprah's “Build the Life You Want”. https://spotifyanchor-web.app.link/e/2S3OZIEFOMb   Ep. 39, Be a terri Cole Boundary Boss in Training, Too! https://spotifyanchor-web.app.link/e/bp2kLFBFOMb   Voluspa Goji Tarocco Orange Candle (Yo's fav): https://voluspa.com/     How to reach Yo Canny:    Our Store: https://www.girltaketheleadpod.com/store    Our Website: www.girltaketheleadpod.com  You can send a message or voicemail there. Ted Bundy's escapes from custody in 1977 were meticulously planned and executed, showcasing his cunning and manipulative nature. His first escape from the Pitkin County Courthouse in Aspen, Colorado, involved jumping from a second-story window and surviving in the wilderness for six days before being recaptured. His second escape from the Garfield County Jail in Glenwood Springs was even more audacious; he starved himself to fit through a small hole in the ceiling and walked out dressed in civilian clothes. After his escape, Bundy fled to Florida, where he committed some of his most brutal crimes, including the Chi Omega sorority house attacks and the abduction and murder of 12-year-old Kimberly Leach. These violent acts marked a significant escalation in his criminal behavior, demonstrating his increasing desperation and willingness to inflict harm.Bundy's final capture in Florida led to highly publicized trials that revealed the full extent of his depravity. Despite representing himself and attempting to manipulate the legal system, the overwhelming evidence, including bite marks and forensic testimonies, secured his conviction and multiple death sentences. Bundy's story is a chilling reminder of the capacity for evil within those who exploit societal weaknesses and manipulate others for their gain. His life serves as a stark warning of the dangers posed by intelligent, charismatic individuals who use their abilities for malevolent purposes, highlighting the need for constant vigilance and justice in confronting such threats.(commercial at 11:01)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

His life serves as a stark warning of the dangers posed by intelligent, charismatic individuals who use their abilities for malevolent purposes, highlighting the need for constant vigilance and justice in confronting such threats.(commercial at 11:01)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com

For collegiate women, joining a sorority offers the possibility of philanthropy, sisterhood, and community. This was especially true at Florida State University, where the young women of Chi Omega had a strong bond with one another. Nights at the sorority house often felt like a slumber party, as girls gathered together to gossip, paint each other's nails, and borrow clothes. However, that sacred sense of safety and community was broken one January night in 1978, when a monster attacked. Author and motivational speaker Kathy Kleiner shares the story of how she survived an attack from Ted Bundy at the Chi Omega sorority house and discusses the impact the nightmare had on her life. Later, she describes testifying at Bundy's trial and coming face-to-face with the murderer who killed her friends. In her book, A Light in the Dark: Surviving More than Ted Bundy, Kathy Kleiner details how she survived lupus, Ted Bundy, an armed robbery, and even breast cancer. It's January 15, 1978. Kathy Kleiner is a student at Florida State University and is asleep in her room at the Chi Omega sorority house. Unbeknownst to her, a serial killer named Ted Bundy has discovered the sorority house's back door is accessible—the lock is broken. That night, he broke into the house, murdered two of her sorority sisters, savagely injured Kathy and her roommate, and changed so many lives forever. Today, Kathy gets to tell her story. It is harrowing and terrifying, and please be forewarned that this conversation contains graphic descriptions of violence that is very difficult to listen to. Bundy was ultimately convicted of murder in Florida and executed by electrocution on January 24, 1989; his total victim count is unknown, but it numbers over 30 women across seven states from 1974 to 1978. Kathy is the first confirmed survivor of his to write a book, and it is a beautiful one, though the subject matter is ugly. As Kathy put it, she didn't just want to survive—she wanted to live. And that she has. This book is her offering to honor Bundy's victims who never got the chance to tell their story. Way too many people (especially women) are addicted to being busy.  The thing is, this is how most of us were brought up. Do more, work harder, be more. Keep going no matter what. If you're busy “doing,” you'll be fine. Go to the gym, do side projects, and meet friends for happy hour. Keep stepping up, achieving, and doing ALL the things (plus more). And whatever you do … DON'T STOP!  Remember that time you booked a “relaxing” vacation? The kind of vacation where you had nothing to do but lounge on the beach and relax. But 2 days in, the edgy uneasiness crept in. And by day 3 you were climbing the walls. Thank god for the piña coladas or you never would've survived! You learned your lesson. From that point on, even your vacations were jam-packed with things to do. Then, in 2020 the pandemic hit, and everything shut down. If you were lucky, you still had work.  But everything else you used to do with your time was off the table. And you were forced to sit in the edgy uneasiness that comes with having nothing to do.  Nobody knew what would come next. The rules and roadmap to what you're “supposed to do” were gone. And each person had a choice. You could wallow in the uneasiness, drink more, slide into depression, and let the anxiety overtake you. Or you could “let go” of the old way, reimagine a new better-for-you way, and take the steps to make it a reality. With or without a pandemic, this is how you create empowering, perfect-for-you careers and lives.  And as a Career Empowerment Coach, it's why I love talking to people like Dora Fang. She created a whole new way of life for herself, living outside the boundaries of what we're “supposed to do.” She went from building strategic partnerships, creating new markets, and catalyzing growth at big companies to traveling full-time in a Winnebago Navion motorhome with her black lab, Tessa.   Connect to Genea: Website: https://geneabarnes-elevate.com/  Book a call with Genea: https://bookacallwithgenea.com/  Free Career Guide: https://geneabarnes-elevate.com/career-guide-b/   Connect to Dora: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dora.the.vagabond/ Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/dorafang/    Dora bio:   Dora Fang has 20+ years of experience in building strategic partnerships, creating new markets, and catalyzing growth at companies such as eBay and Harley-Davidson. In today's episode we explore how to turn our tendency to judge into compassion and empathy for other parents. Parenting is hard enough, then add the complexity of making your kids "well rounded". I sit down with journalist and author, Stephen Michaud, to discuss The Idaho Murders and The Bundy Tapes. Stephen and I discuss the details of the Idaho Murders, and his experiences sitting down with Ted Bundy. Ted was brazen enough to break into the Chi Omega house and bludgeon four sorority sisters to death without being detected. Is this the same type of person we are dealing with in Idaho? UPDATE: Since the taping of this episode, there has been an arrest made in the murders of Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, and Ethan Chapin. Bryan Kohberger, 28, was arrested by Pennsylvania State Police for the quadruple homicide. The police cannot release any additional information about the case until Kohberger is extradited back to Idaho. Huge applause to the police, FBI, the media, and the tipsters that made this arrest happen. Support the show

Welcome back to the podcast! In today's episode, Chantel once again got to speak with returning guest Lisa Fischer! From an early age at a pre-school in Roselle Park, NJ, to being suspended twice from her high school in southeast Arkansas for various talking infractions, she has always been known for her gift of gab. The serendipitous event of her high school was being named “Most Talkative” which is a title that's since been retired. Well, the school burned down shortly after her younger brother graduated. We are still unsure of any connection. In between cities, she was somehow put into a middle school cafeteria that prohibited talking during the lunch hour. We assume those administrators in Gretna, La., hated children.   Lisa started to realize in college where she emceed the pep rallies at the University of Arkansas and where she was a spokesman for her sorority, the founding chapter of Chi Omega, that her journalism degree could help her use even more words! She graduated with a journalism/public relations/advertising degree, and her goal was to chat it up, whether on TV, radio or in print. For her, she was able to do it all.   Lisa first entered broadcasting as a desk assistant at the ABC affiliate in Little Rock, Ark. That stint lasted less than a year as the station experienced budget cuts, and somehow her merely-more-than-minimum-wage-job was eliminated. That's when a local news/talk radio station asked if she wanted to host her very own radio show. At 23! The answer was yes and hosting an afternoon talk show on an AM station in the 80s when there were no cell phones or internet access which made perfect sense to her to blather about nothing. She also hosted a TV segment on the local NBC affiliate as well as being a part-time entertainment reporter. In the late 80s, she married the love of her life and had three children, and she decided to stay home with her children and leave broadcasting behind (or so she thought) to homeschool her children. That lasted from 1993-2006 when she was asked to fill-in on radio station, B98.5 in Little Rock, for a few days, and she came home with a two-year contract. She retired from morning radio in June 2018.    Lisa is host of the Lisa Fischer Said podcast available wherever you get your podcasts along with a podcast focused on "everything and absolutely nothing at the same time." It's with her longtime friend and designer Larry West Jr. It's called, wait for it, The Lisa and Larry Show. Available where you get your podcasts.   Lisa is in her 36th year as a journalist in Arkansas. She is also a TV pitchman for home improvement clients across the country. She is a book author (more on that another time)/copy editor, a future YouTube sensation and now a certified integrative nutrition health coach as a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Her passion is to help women live healthier lives with fewer medications and more vitality with less body weight, too! She has been successfully intermittent fasting since 2017.
