Hey everybody! Welcome to a wonderfully silly episode of Queer All Year! Today, Cat and McG are a bit focused on our crossover episode with the Getting Off Podcast! In this episode we talk about a whole bunch of denied vanity plates in California. We were inspired by the fact that so many of these were homophobic or otherwise harmful to the community. This episode is significant in that McG does a little segment on our new sponsor: Alternative Reality CBD! check them out at alternativerealitycbd.com Thanks so much everyone and remember: We love you!
Hey everybody! Thanks for joining us for a super special episode of Queer All Year! Today, Cat and McG are Getting Off with Jessa and Nick! Their podcast (called Getting Off) features the dynamic duo sharing their expertise in the criminal justice world. They also happen to be highly accomplished defense lawyers, giving them an interesting insight, they they are able to portray in a fun, yet informative way. In our episode together, we discuss the plethora of anti-queer legislation being proposed all over the country, most notably in South Dakota. Unfortunately, we had a little trouble with our computer and had to rely on Skype to record our audio. As a result, it sounds awful and we apologize. We are in the process of getting better equipment. We also want to announce our new sponsor Alternative Reality! For great prices on top-quality CBD, visit them at alternativerealitycbd.com Thanks so much and remember: We Love You!

He was supposed to be a force for good in the system. A criminal justice major who went to one party off campus. It was the last thing he ever did. This is one case among many. But some who listen to this month’s episode will say it’s many cases explained by one. So far, our cases have stopped at the borders of American law enforcement; the failures of agencies, the era and date in time of the case, and sometimes just plain bad luck. This month, unavoidably, features an added dimension; one that will inevitably expand our conversation beyond the case at hand. But this remains true: a young man’s life was taken, and it needn’t have been. And nobody is today in jail for the crime. When we begin our investigation of a case each month, we don’t really (honestly) have any idea how it’s going to go! So far in this series, we’ve brought you first person investigators and people directly related to the case in some way. In this case, though it may or may not surprise you once you learn about more, we weren’t able to talk to anyone with direct knowledge of the events or the investigation in the amount of time we have to examine the case. Sometimes, that’s going to happen. So, we had a choice: we could keep working the case, in the hopes that we landed our sources in a few weeks, or even more… which would delay the chapter’s release; we could bag the whole chapter and start over; or we could release sort of a partial chapter. And that is what this is… we’re calling this month’s single download our first Dossier episode. Are you going to the first annual True Crime Podcast Festival in July 2019 in Chicago? You should! We will be there along with many other amazing podcasts including but not limited to some of our personal favorites such as: Wine & Crime , Getting Off , Trace Evidence , Criminology, and All Crime No Cattle! Dr. Vronsky continues with his ‘Big History’ of serial murder, examining war crimes committed by G.I.s against their allies and enemies alike, the profound trauma experienced by returning American soldiers, and the popular sexualization of war themes in detective and boys’ adventure magazines. Could this explain the unprecedented spike in serial killing from 1970-1990? Dr. Peter Vronsky is the author of two bestselling true-crime histories: Serial Killers: The Method and Madness of Monsters and Female Serial Killers: How and Why Women Become Monsters. He is an investigative historian, author, filmmaker and new media designer. His new book, Sons of Cain is available anywhere you buy books! OK. We took down our terrible audio. We re-capped our previous episode so that those of you who could not suffer through the R. Kelly porno cathedral recordings had them. If you want to skip ahead to the new stuff, start at 30 minutes and 30 seconds. The rest of the (rather lengthy) episode is new to all! Also, we have special edition tumblers out available! Check out WilderSideDesigns (all one word) on etsy to order your (customizable) Getting Off Podcast tumbler, coffee tumbler, or wine glass. Wilder Side Designs is a friend of the show and an extremely talented small business. Go support them, and, by extension, us, by buying a tumbler today!
*This is a listener FAVORITE from Season 1. We are using a new format and recording style for Season 3 and beyond. We have kept this episode on the main feed as it was one that the listeners loved.HEATHER IS FANGIRLING!!! In this episode, Heather invites Nick and Jessa from the Getting Off Podcast to discuss everyone’s eye candy serial killer; aka the Lady Killer, Ted Bundy. Although the Nature vs Narcissism Podcast has covered Ted Bundy in the past (Episode 2), we thought it would be fun to discuss Ted with folks who understand and are a part of the criminal justice system. Since Nick and Jessa are defense attorneys, we thought it would be fun to do a crossover episode where they break down the Chi Omega trial and share their expert opinions as well as their personal thoughts on the case as a whole! We have a blast and learn a lot about Jessa’s ‘wayward youth’, as Nick describes it! This episode was a blast and I learned a lot in Part 2; which is over on the Getting Off feed. You will probably learn a lot and may have even acquitted him if you knew what we now know about the case and evidence!! Be sure to check out Frozen Truth as a new season will be airing on June 24th! When Wanda Maddux took the stand to testify in her own defense, she told the jury that the day before her daughter died her husband, Ronnie, "acted plumb wild. He's been mean before, but I've never seen him that bad." Will Wanda be able to convince the jury that Ronald Maddux was a batterer who targeted Melisha for abuse without her consent or approval? Targeted: True Crime Domestic Violence. We’ll investigate one case of family violence each season, using academic research to interpret the events so that we can become better advocates.
