We spoke with Ms. Anne Chele, the Agricultural Policy Officer at The Food & Agricultural Organisation (FAO) on her take on the policy framework in the Agricultural sector in Kenya.

AODN has recently completed a study on availability, openness and sex disaggregation of 50 indicators for SDG 1 to 5 covering 19 countries. Muchiri and Linet share observations from the data collected. The study looked at whether the data for the indicators was available online, if it was licensed for re-use, redistribution and repackaging and whether it was disaggregated by sex.

Muchiri Nyaggah speaks with Eric Chinje, the former Chief Executive Officer of the African Media Initiative and now currently serving as a Senior Advisor to the current CEO of AMI. He is a Cameroonian, journalist a former head of communications at the World Bank and held similar roles at the African Development Bank and the Mo Ibrahim Foundation. Muchiri speaks with him about the African story; how we can we make sure Africa tells it's own story and doesn't leave it to others.

The AODN team participated in the 5th Open Government Partnership Summit held in Tbilisi, Georgia from 17th to 19th July, 2018. Among those who spoke in the high level plenary sessions was His Excellency the Honourable Gaston A. Browne, Prime Minister of the Antigua and Barbuda. He is the 4th and current Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda, in office since 2014. While his remarks are not about Africa, we find them relevant to the context of many African countries working within the framework of OGP.

The AODN team participated in the 5th Open Government Partnership Summit held in Tbilisi, Georgia from 17th to 19th July, 2018. Among those who spoke in the high level plenary sessions was Her Excellency, Ana Brnabić, Prime Minister of the Serbia. She has held the office since June 2017.

Mukhammedkalyi Abylgaziev, Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan, the first country in Central Asia to join the Open Government Partnership. He has served as the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan since 20 April 2018.
