Are you a servant?

Do you ever sit down and look back all the people who have been generous to you? Those people hold a special place in your heart, right? Do you ever go out of your way to be generous to strangers,… or do you only do it for your loved ones? What goes on in your mind when you see someone begging for money?Imagine you are going through a financial crisis and you are positive that if God doesn't intervene, you will go under. You will lose your business, car, home, and other things that you value. One day, as you are at the fuel station, someone begs you give them money for food. You have a $5 bill in your wallet, a $10 bill, and a $20 bill. Which one do you give considering you are going through a financial crisis? Sometimes when we pray for something, God sends us tests to see if we are ready to receive His blessings. It is said, "The true character of a man is revealed when in a crisis." You may find that God delays answering the prayer until you learn the lesson. When you pass the test, God works on your request in ways that you can hardly comprehend. How You Can Grow Your FaithAre you dealing with whatever is happening to you right now in a way that demonstrates faith? In today’s episode, I’m going to talk to you about something people generally don’t like to talk about. I’m discussing the ways in which you can use your money to honor God, deepen your connection to Him, and allow yourself to receive His blessings.Let’s begin by giving thanks to God for all that He is giving and all the good He is doing. Looking at the news only highlights what is bad in the world. You need to look beyond that and be thankful for what He has already given us. Giving thanks is a continuous practice, but an important one.Now, let’s talk about questions. Questions cause us to think and change our perspective. You need to ask yourself higher level questions to begin thinking at a higher level. When it comes to your finances, ask yourself, what am I doing to honor God? Remember that where your heart is, so is your treasure. The easiest way to honor Him is by first offering fruits. By that, I mean offering the first 10% of your increase to Him to show that He comes before all else. Ask yourself if you haven’t been doing this, why not? Ask if what you are doing honors God. If the answer is no, reflect on your habits and look at your budget to make the changes you need to be able to offer your first fruits.Remember that you cannot out give God. What you give to Him, He will return many times over. Give to wherever you are spiritually fed and trust your Pastor to use your tithe to help the world. Intentionally think higher to deepen your connection to God. To reach your next level, you have to look past the negativity and seek the positivity. When all your input comes from the news and social media,... it is easy to only see the negativity in the world. That’s because the media makes its money in showing the negativity. As people, our sin naturally craves the negative and the drama. People thrive on and get addicted to hearing and sharing negativity. Positivity, like God, is always there - you just have to seek it. God has a plan and all that is happening in the world is a part of that plan. He is in control. You, specifically, are going through challenges and hardships by His design. No matter the situation, learn everything you can from it. Only by gleaning these lessons and valuing these insights can you get to where God wants you to be. Love is a discipline and a choice that you can make and practice to honor Him.
