The Gospel still works. Jesus still saves. And His call hasn't changed: Come to Me. Pastor Ryan Deas reminds us that the power of God is released through faith in God. The enemy is after your ears—because faith comes by hearing. This message exposes distraction, challenges surface-level Christianity, and pushes us back to raw trust in Jesus. It's not about fixing yourself before coming. It's about coming to Jesus and letting His voice transform you. Guilt, shame, failure? Bring it to Him. Whether you're the prodigal, the paralyzed, or the woman caught in the act—Jesus doesn't condemn. He heals. He delivers. He saves.Key Scriptures:Romans 1:16–17Romans 3:3–28John 8 (The woman caught in adultery)Matthew 11:28Luke 5 (The paralyzed man)Core Messages:The Gospel is the power of God for those who believe. You can't clean yourself up—come as you are.Faith activates the power of salvation, deliverance, and righteousness.Hearing God personally is essential; no one can do it for you.The devil's biggest trick: get you to stay away from Jesus.Don't run from conviction—run to Him.

Week 4 of our series in the book of James emphasizes the sin of favoritism and the importance of showing mercy as a reflection of true faith. James challenges the early Christians, and us today, to avoid making distinctions based on wealth or status, reminding us that in God's kingdom, all are equal. The sermon also highlights the need for the church to be a welcoming place for all, regardless of their background or current struggles, and to embody the mercy and love of Jesus Christ.Key Verses:James 2:1-13Leviticus 19:18Matthew 20:26-28Luke 14:11Romans 12:1-2Key Takeaways:True faith is demonstrated through mercy.Favoritism is incompatible with the teachings of Jesus. The church should be a welcoming place for all, regardless of status or background.Understanding the historical context of scripture enhances our comprehension and application.Living out our faith requires us to act differently from the world.Reflection Questions:What does favoritism look like in today's context, and how can we avoid it?How does showing mercy reflect our faith in Jesus? Why is it important to understand the historical context of the Book of James? In what ways can the church be more welcoming to those who are different from us?How can we ensure that we are not conforming to the world's standards within the church? What does it mean to 'love your neighbor as yourself' in practical terms? How can we balance addressing bad ideas while still showing love to the personWhat steps can we take to deepen our reverence for the Word of God?Practical Application:This week, challenge yourself to show mercy to someone who may not expect it. Reflect on how you can be more impartial in your interactions and seek to embody the love and mercy of Jesus in all your relationships.Support the show

God is good. And this season always has me reflecting on that for an even deeper reason - because I gave my life to Christ, after hearing the Christmas story, 10 years ago. In this episode I share my testimony and the power of the Christmas story. A simple Christmas cookie decorating event, hosted at my college sorority, brought me from a self-centered life to a Christ-centered life. On a mission to succeed and impress the world, yet wrought with anxiety, I bawled my eyes out after hearing about the hope that Jesus offers us. I knew I needed Him.Join me for my own story and lots of reflection on the scriptures that share the story of the birth of baby Jesus. In today's world productivity, doing and achieving, is what we do. And sometimes it becomes who we are. But what do we do or who do we become when we take that away even for a few hours?Although we've been talking about sacrifices and ways to draw nearer to God, we also hear God inviting us to "Come." Multiple times in the Bible, Jesus calls us to Himself. For He has made a way by fulfilling all those requirements for us to be able to be in the presence of God. Now all we need to do is 'come.'Jesus invites us to Him. We don't need to meet expectation or quotas, but simply be still long enough. Coming to Jesus is more of a stilling than a doing. And this week, I'm inviting you to come with me into His presence.Find a comfy chair, bench, or section of floor and join me. His Heartbeat with Sue Corl

Trusting in God's presence and goodness is a simple enough concept, but let's not mistake that for being easy. In today's episode, Sue engages with a brother in Christ, Paul Granger, to spur us on as we seek to trust God when our human understanding is leading us astray.    When asked who he is, Paul likes to say "a child of God and ambassador of Christ," because he's learned that these elements of his identity supersede and shape the rest. One of the ways God has invited him to live out the call to "love God and love others" is through creating space for conversation and community, and advocating for those that may go unseen. He has spent the last two decades serving with various ministries, and now serves full time alongside YWAM. He is a well of wisdom; get your journals ready and come hungry for this spiritual feeding!  Please SUPPORT His Heartbeat through Crown of Beauty InternationalDonation Page// Cru-Crown of Beauty InternationalCONNECT with His Heartbeat and Crown of Beauty InternationalWebsite// Facebook//InstagramConnect with Sue Corl's Instagram//WebsiteSUBMIT your own scenarios or questionsEmail: crownofbeautyinternational@gmail.comVerses Mentioned in the Show:Hebrews 11:1Hebrews 11Matthew 14:25-291 Corinthians 3:2Job 38:4-7Psalm 139:14Luke 10:27Matthew 6:33Daniel 3:16-28Luke 15:11-32Philippians 4:122 Corinthians 5:7Isaiah 55:8-91 Corinthians 13:9-12Proverbs 3:5-6Matthew 4:1-11Resources Mentioned in the Show:Paul's Podcast Broken, but Undefeated

Son of Man: IncarnationHis Father’s House (Luke 2:41-52)January 5, 202041Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. 42When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. 43After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. 44Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. 45When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. 46After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. 47Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. 48When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.” 49“Why were you searching for me?” he asked. “Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” 50But they did not understand what he was saying to them. 51Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all these things in her heart. 52And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.Mary and Joseph were Law-Abiding ParentsExodus 23:15Deuteronomy 16:1-8 - The PassoverDeuteronomy 16:16Exodus 12:26-27Fully God and Fully ManPhilippians 2: 6-7Matthew 24:36 (The Day and Hour Unknown)2 Corinthians 5:211 John 3:5Increasing in Knowledge and Understandingi.he sought out teachers and sat in their midstii.he listenediii.he asked questionsiv.he gave answersMatthew 7:28Luke 18:34Luke 3:23Luke 4:22"I Must Be in My Father's House" (key verse, Luke 2:49)Luke 4:43Luke 9:22 (Other readings in Luke - 13:33; 17:25; 19:5; 22:37; 24:7; 24:26; 24:44; 24:46)John 10:29-33Jesus Demonstrated Obedience, Grew in Wisdom, Stature and in Favor with God (verses 50-51)1 Timothy 2:5 - For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus.Key Lessons:i.Spiritual growth takes timeii. We experience a tension between our responsibilities to God and to our fellow meniii. We must often submit to those who are our inferiors/superiorsiv.We need God's grace upon us

You see what is before you. Those are the facts. But the facts cannot change the Truth. But the Truth, which is Jesus Christ, CAN change the facts for you. Then you'll be transformed into a new person and you'll end up transforming other people's lives by the way you live. If we focus on our weaknesses, then we will lack self-esteem. We'll be walking and living as a Christian by guilt. If we focus on the good things and our abilities, we will operate in pride. But if we focus on the love of God, then we are grateful, excited, and we share Him and His principles with others.Philippians 4:4-82 Corinthians 10:3-6Romans 8:28Luke 6:45Romans 8:35-391 Corinthians 2:16Jude 1:20-21Psalm 71:52 Corinthians 3:5
