James 5:10-11 (NASB) 10 As an example, brothers and sisters, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 We count those blessed who endured. You have heard of the endurance of Job and have seen the outcome of the Lord's dealings, that the Lord is full of compassion and is merciful. Theme: In times of suffering, look to the prophets and Job for spiritual encouragement.
Unfortunately, the American church is full of people who wear the mask of hypocrisy. And it's not just sexual sin. Many “deeds of the flesh” are indulged in, like anger, envy, gossip, and greed. But you would never know it because many who sit in churches every Sunday have learned to play the Christian part so well, it's hard to know what's true or what's just an act. Vinny Pappas joins the podcast to share how the Lord exposed the hypocrisy in his life, and how that was crucial in leading him out of sexual sin. James 5:7-9 (NASB) 7 Therefore be patient, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. The farmer waits for the precious produce of the soil, being patient about it, until it gets the early and late rains. 8 You too be patient; strengthen your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is near. 9 Do not complain, brothers and sisters, against one another, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing right at the door. Theme: Being righteous before God when you are wronged involves steadfast patience, always aware of the Lord's return & nearness. How to respond rightly when you are wronged in life: 1) Be Patient (5:7-8a) 2) Be Steadfast (5:8b) 3) Don't Turn Against Each Other (5:9) https://www.faithbiblechurch.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Sermon20260524.mp3
Lauren brings our sermon series on faith to an end, looking at Hebrews 12v1-3 and how we are to run our race in life without comparison, not weighed down unnecessarily, side by side with others, and with our eyes fixed firmly on the one true faith hero, Jesus.

James 5:1-6 (NASB) 1 Come now, you rich people, weep and howl for your miseries which are coming upon you. 2 Your riches have rotted and your garments have become moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and your silver have corroded, and their corrosion will serve as a testimony against you and will consume your flesh like fire. It is in the last days that you have stored up your treasure! 4 Behold, the pay of the laborers who mowed your fields, and which has been withheld by you, cries out against you; and the outcry of those who did the harvesting has reached the ears of the Lord of armies. 5 You have lived for pleasure on the earth and lived luxuriously; you have fattened your hearts in a day of slaughter. 6 You have condemned and put to death the righteous person; he offers you no resistance. Eternal judgment is coming upon those who store up riches for themselves while abusing the needy on earth. 1) Pronouncement of God's Judgment (5:1) 2) Description of God's Judgment (5:2-3) 3) Charges for God's Judgment (5:4-6)

James 4:13-17 (NASB) 13 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” 14 Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. For you are just a vapor that appears for a little while, and then vanishes away. 15 Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and also do this or that.” 16 But as it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil. 17 So for one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, for him it is sin. Two big problems with making plans & decisions apart from seeking God's will: 1) It is foolish to act like you are in control of the future (4:13-14) 2) It is arrogance and evil to neglect God's will (4:16-17) How to make plans & decisions in honor of Christ: 3) Seek the Lord's will in everything you do (4:15)

James 4:11-12 (NASB) 11 Do not speak against one another, brothers and sisters. The one who speaks against a brother or sister, or judges his brother or sister, speaks against the law and judges the law; but if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge of it. 12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you, judging your neighbor? It is serious sin against God to speak against or stand in judgement over others. 1) The Command(s) – 4:11a (& b) 2) The Reasons for the Command(s) – 4:11b-12

John Piper | Jesus endured for the joy set before him. Moses obeyed, expecting the Messiah. The early church suffered for a better reward. This is faith.
In this episode, we spend time in Psalm 34 and practice doing the Word by blessing God's name out loud, crying out to Him, and trusting Him - regardless of the outcome. Peter exhorts us to have a faith that seeks a homeland - a faith that goes beyond the fear of death - and to stop trying to solve the storms of life, but instead to get under the shelter of His wing. True Faith: Trusting in God's Plan 'But If Not'. ACU Sunday Series. The Most Inspiring General Conference Talk on Faith You'll Ever Hear! True Faith: Trusting in God's Plan 'But If Not' In this inspirational video, Elder Dennis E. Simmons reflects on his youthful misunderstanding of faith through a story from his eighth-grade basketball tournament. He emphasizes that true faith is more than wishful thinking—it's a deep trust in Jesus Christ. Using the biblical story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, Elder Simmons illustrates how true faith means trusting God even when outcomes don't align with our desires. He explores how figures such as Abraham, Daniel, and Paul displayed unwavering faith under trials, demonstrating that great challenges can cultivate greater spiritual strength. The address underlines that the world is a test of faith, administered by a loving Heavenly Father, and highlights the importance of maintaining faith in God's plan, even amidst suffering and uncertainty. What does true faith in God look like? In this message from Pastor Brandon Lindell, we see in James 2:20–26 that true faith is more than a label or belief in name only—it is living, obedient, and revealed by action. Our prayer is that this message would stir your heart to move beyond empty faith and walk in the kind of faith that trusts God, obeys Him, and believes He can do the impossible.
