It's been a minute, but here's the latest all vinyl offering, part of a creativity trial I'm involved with called Sanity Project. It's about recycling beats and materials as a means of forging new ideas and reclaiming creative vitality. Being resourceful and attentive. Diligent. Organic. Even if it's painfully revealing. So far, so good. I haven't buried myself yet and that's the point...to be alive at the end of this saga. Tracks: JOHNNY MATHIS "No Love" LULA "The DJ, The Music & Me" X DOC "Julia" FREAKS "Where Were You When The Lights Went Out?" Tiefschwarz Light Aus Dub ETIENNE DE CRECY "Scratched" Les Diamataires Remix DJ VITAMIN D "Spaced Out" LAUREN @ SLAM "Run Free" PARIS-ANGELES "Photo" BLUEFACE "Nan In" UNDERWORLD VS. PVD "An Angel Is Born" MARILYN MANSON "Heart Shaped Glass" Mario Ranieri Black Label Remix MARCO BAILEY "Last Judge" DETROIT GRAND PUBAHS "Thanks For Coming" JOHNNY MATHIS "Warm And Tender" Support these good artists and you will be rewarded.

    What Is Left

Over the summer, I purged my record collection for the second time. Selling back to Amoeba what was 75 percent theirs to begin with. My former collection is in Canada, but that's another story. So there are now two more milk crates for me to use as alternative storage or whatever. To tell you the truth, my heart sinks a little when I throw a pair of jeans on top of them...without there being vinyls inside. I'm trying not to get attached, trying to lessen my load unrepentantly. It's a challenge, really, there has been so much emotion wrapped up in those plates. Man, if they could talk, they would scream. Anyway, what is left is what is classic to me. Some nostalgia, some magic, some I still refuse to part with. What is left fits in one black bag. Good to go. All 12" with a couple 7s and 45s. Nothing digital. Never has and never will. Here are a few solid gems: OVAL Polygon Med Pak ETIENNE DE CRECY Scratched (Radio) DJ SPOOKY Galactic Funk CHARLIE MINGUS Devil Woman RAY IN YARD Amethyst Rocks M.I.A White Label W. Dear Friends, on this day, a day ago, were fourandtwentyblackbirdsbakedinapie all with vinyl, all in motion. And on this day, I dreamt that I could sustain this suspension forever — the simple belief in imaginings of what may one day be real, or not, depending seemingly on gestures of whim. Realizing it's all the same and alright. Forwards and in reverse, a circle remains the same no matter which way you travel. The point is, to free yourself enough so that you may enjoy either direction. Right now, my circle more closely resembles an obtuse elipse. Each time I stitch together a mix, I wish that I might lay it down to rest. Call it quits and seek out an alternative pastime. Like base jumping. Something safer, with far less heartache. Yet there are so many analogue recordings that should be played and heard until their grooves dictate otherwise - Vinyl disques that were made to be cherished, passed hand-to-hand, celebrated and cried over. Love lessons in rotation. Here is the current tracklist: MOBY+VOODOO CHILD Frog BLUEFACE Creeper CHRIS LIEBING Cylinder Swing DJ PIERRE I've Lost Control (Glen Underground's) DETROIT GRAND PUBAHS Ride (Tony Rohr's) MEAT KATIE MEETS CHRISTIAN J Turn Me Out (Dylan Rhymes Remix) ETIENNE DE CRECY Am I Wrong (Extended) SAMUEL L Rico Que Rico BASEMENT JAXX Twerk DEETRON Batuque DJ VITAMIN D (ft. Commemorating this year of dreams, hits and misses, and moving forward. Confessing a certain techno lovesickness for nine years now. What a lengthy time chasing rainbows and analogue beats! Nearly impossible in techlandia. Harboring apprehensions towards the digital medium - that it will make us less organic than we should be. The saliva, already mercurial – the rainbow's chromatic patina observed, the beats that are too perfect. In observance of this phenomenon, I have manipulated and edited this mix — compressed, limited, minimized and messed with things just to try out the future. In the future, we don't have skin, we have armor. Per usual, please support the artists by purchasing their work: HEARING IS OUR CONCERN Fragmented PARIS-ANGELES En Attendant Bertrand BLUEFACE Mournful PERC Cylinder Swing DETROIT GRAND PUBAHS Ride (Tony Rohr Redux) DIRTY FUNKER Let’s Get Dirty (Dirty Dub) ADAM BEYER + AGARIC California Gold DJ PIERRE I Followed You NIQUE + DJ VITAMIN We Want You (Mazi’s Remix) DEETRON Vibrando SIDESTEPPERZ Slider MARCO BAILEY Wisdom Of The Far East SIDESTEPPERZ Once Again Back!

Another all-vinyl mix from the bedroom. These are all new to me, but found randomly in the record shop bins. None were heard prior to purchase. All were selected from the gut. I am sure some of these are already played out in the clubs and well passé, since it has been awhile since I have stepped out on the scene. This mix is dedicated to all the bangin' summer festivals, djs, artists, dancers and nomads. Viva Techno! An original mix proudly and exclusively made from vinyl records. The only digital enhancements have been to audio levels due to natural occurring pops and well-worn grooves of the plates.
