Today's guest wrote "The Climb." She also wrote "I Drive Your Truck," "Mine Would Be You," "Don't Think Jesus," and "Ain't No Love in Oklahoma." But her real story isn't the hits. It's the ten years before the first one, the five years after it when the phone stopped ringing, and what she figured out in between about how to actually last in this business. From a dropped record deal and years as what she calls a washed-up artist nobody would write with, to Song of the Year, a Grammy nomination, and a run of hits she wrote while raising three kids under three. She carries three things at once that almost no writer figures out how to hold together: a working method she can actually teach, a conviction that this is a calling and not a job, and a refusal to write the safe version of anything. And The Writer Is... Human beings. Our blessed lives, this gracious breath, this universe. And then the small infractions blown out of proportion, the disputes, the ego play. Human beings doing what they do best - destroy what's good. And then men & women with their particularities starting to chip away at the very foundation on which their worth and purpose and joy is built on - the people they love. Simplicity is never the preferred choice. Power, ego, insistences. Relationships become a web. To capture, enrapture, to keep, to not let freedom find its course. A word, a tone, a brusque denial. Sometimes the smallest infractions make the deepest holes. And then a refusal to acknowledge, reluctance to seek understanding, an alacrity to come to conclusions - to not forget, to hold onto hurts. The refusal to heal as memory teases ego. Men are boorish, physically, in nature - often just as a masculine cover for uncertainty. Women too are boorish - as they instinctively understand the chinks in their males and find ways to control - stooping cleverly, as it were, to conquer. Nobody makes a mess like human beings - indeed, they conjure new ways to hurt, blame, destabilise, destroy. They wallow in self-pity, hit out viciously when encountering emotional cul-de-sacs, not realizing that when they maim, they hurt themselves too and become equal victims. Will and Jim light it up on ACC Nation Podcast as they talk about greed driving college sports, the Great White North as a venue for ACC football and it appears the relationship with Notre Dame as a member of the ACC is in need of counseling. If you haven’t heard the powers that be are driving college sports off a cliff with more than just talk about expansion and super-leagues. Basketball is the next victim. Football is continuing to expand. Who benefits? At what point is a line drawn in the sand and someone, anyone says, no more? Podcast Former ACC Commissioner John Swofford may not have a lot of fans and perhaps for good reason. One of the efforts initiated by Swofford was expanding the ACC into markets outside of the United States. It appears this idea have been ahead of the curve as more and more college and pro teams explore the potential. Not everyone is thrilled by having conference games in these new venues but the financial potential and increased eyes on product is too promising to pass up. This season North Carolina takes on TCU in Dublin and later that day NC State and Virginia go head-to-head in Rio de Janeiro. Next year, Syracuse and Wake Forest are scheduled for a Week Zero game in Toronto. You’ll find some, strong opinions on the podcast about the expansion in post-season play along with the super-conference concept. Speaking of opinions, apparently some school leaders in the ACC are beginning to find their threshold with Notre Dame and are more than willing to talk about it at the conference meeting. Find out where you can read more on that story on the podcast. Subscribe to ACC Nation Podcast and watch ACC Nation on YouTube.

LESSON 127There Is No Love But God's.Perhaps you think that different kinds of love are possible. Perhaps you think there is a kind of love for this, a kind for that; a way of loving one, another way of loving still another. Love is one. It has no separate parts and no degrees; no kinds nor levels, no divergencies and no distinctions. It is like itself, unchanged throughout. It never alters with a person or a circumstance. It is the Heart of God, and also of His Son.Love's meaning is obscure to anyone who thinks that love can change. He does not see that changing love must be impossible. And thus he thinks that he can love at times, and hate at other times. He also thinks that love can be bestowed on one, and yet remain itself although it is withheld from others. To believe these things of love is not to understand it. If it could make such distinctions, it would have to judge between the righteous and the sinner, and perceive the Son of God in separate parts.Love cannot judge. As it is one itself, it looks on all as one. Its meaning lies in oneness. And it must elude the mind that thinks of it as partial or in part. There is no love but God's, and all of love is His. There is no other principle that rules where love is not. Love is a law without an opposite. Its wholeness is the power holding everything as one, the link between the Father and the Son which holds Them both forever as the same.No course whose purpose is to teach you to remember what you really are could fail to emphasize that there can never be a difference in what you really are and what love is. Love's meaning is your own, and shared by God Himself. For what you are is what He is. There is no love but His, and what He is, is everything there is. There is no limit placed upon Himself, and so are you unlimited as well.No law the world obeys can help you grasp love's meaning. What the world believes was made to hide love's meaning, and to keep it dark and secret. There is not one principle the world upholds but violates the truth of what love is, and what you are as well.Seek not within the world to find your Self. Love is not found in darkness and in death. Yet it is perfectly apparent to the eyes that see and ears that hear love's Voice. Today we practice making free your mind of all the laws you think you must obey; of all the limits under which you live, and all the changes that you think are part of human destiny. Today we take the largest single step this course requests in your advance towards its established goal.If you achieve the faintest glimmering of what love means today, you have advanced in distance without measure and in time beyond the count of years to your release. Let us together, then, be glad to give some time to God today, and understand there is no better use for time than this. For fifteen minutes twice today escape from every law in which you now believe. Open your mind and rest. The world that seems to hold you prisoner can be escaped by anyone who does not hold it dear. Withdraw all value you have placed upon its meager offerings and senseless gifts, and let the gift of God replace them all.Call to your Father, certain that His Voice will answer. He Himself has promised this. And He Himself will place a spark of truth within your mind wherever you give up a false belief, a dark illusion of your own reality and what love means. He will shine through your idle thoughts today, and help you understand the truth of love. In loving gentleness He will abide with you, as you allow His Voice to teach love's meaning to your clean and open mind. And He will bless the lesson with His Love.Today the legion of the future years of waiting for salvation disappears before the timelessness of what you learn. Let us give thanks today that we are spared a future like the past. Today we leave the past behind us, nevermore to be remembered. And we raise our eyes upon a different present, where a future dawns unlike the past in every attribute. The world in infancy is newly born. And we will watch it grow in health and strength, to shed its blessing upon all who come to learn to cast aside the world they thought was made in hate to be love's enemy. Now are they all made free, along with us. Now are they all our brothers in God's Love.We will remember them throughout the day, because we cannot leave a part of us outside our love if we would know our Self. At least three times an hour think of one who makes the journey with you, and who came to learn what you must learn. And as he comes to mind, give him this message from your Self:I bless you, brother, with the Love of God, which I would share with you.For I would learn the joyous lesson that there is no love but God'sand yours and mine and everyone's.- Jesus Christ in ACIM
MIRACLES FOR YOU Sondra Ray & Markus Ray on A Course in Miracles
Love in the Absolute sense of the word, or the truth of the word, associates Love with the changeless Oneness of Reality. It associates Love with God, and the state of Being that is Unlimited and given Life by its Creator. The larger vision of Love is what this lesson is about. This lesson can be applied to any brother toward whom you may have held grievances. There is a Prayer to correct this: "I bless you, brother, with the Love of God, which I would share with you. For I would learn the joyous lesson that there is no love but God's and yours and mine and everyone's."
Send us Fan MailNo Love in the Shadows is a soulful, emotional R&B record about the pain of hiding real love because of fear, judgment, and outside opinions. It speaks to people trapped in relationships where love exists, but honesty doesn't—where feelings are real, yet they stay hidden behind closed doors and silent struggles. The song challenges listeners to choose truth over fear, reminding them that real love should never have to live in darkness. It's a powerful anthem about self-acceptance, courage, and loving openly without shame. Turning Point USA celebrates over 20 million views and counting, while the liberal media gushes over a halftime show that even non-Spanish speaking liberals didn't understand. The legacy media rolls out fake reports of who exactly is getting deported, and they really think Americans don't understand what a crime is. Send us a textWhen we talked with Dan Brown about his HOF choices in episode 645 we noted that just before our prior podcast the Mets signed Bo Bichette. Right after the podcast with Dan, the #Mets traded for #Brewers #1 starter Freddy Peralta. What will happen this week after our podcast? Will Framber Valdez sign with the #Orioles as Gordon says in this podcast? Where else might he go? What about Tarik Skubal's arbitration case? If the #Tigers lose and have to pay him $32M, are they more likely to trade him than if they win and only have to pay hin $19M? What about the AL East? It looks tough. Four of the five teams could claim the divisional title. We let you in on who we think will be the non-contender in the AL East.Intro & Outro music this season courtesy of Mercury Maid!
